Love my RNDI - S. Use it on everything. The sound is pure gold, smooth, silky highs, controlled bottom end, perfect for bass guitars, guitars, vocals(after mic pre), synths(oh god synths sound terrific trough this thing), drums. It's the best DI out there. Period.

'Should I' use the the RNDI with an external Pre, i.e. the 511 or should i run it straight into my digital interface? I am not sure if using an external pre would defeat the 'point' of taking a clean unaffected DI signal. I know obviously this depends on circumstance, hence the apostrophes, but just wondering what the general consensus is.

So when you say to try it with your interface, do you mean sending stems or mixes through it to get some of that transformer sound so it sounds less digital?

Just purchased the stereo model and noticed that only the mono version has the speaker/instrument line level option. Does that mean the stereo RNDIS shouldn’t be used between and amp and load source?

I don't see why this wouldn't work. It works as normal out of my amplifier (back into my interface) and I can't imagine any other speaker fed by a preamp would be any different.

This allows me to take 2 hi-z inputs like a bass and a guitar and plug them into my interface-but those inputs have to be phantom powered mic inputs correct? I want to plug two hi-z inputs into two line inputs on an interface and I’m trying to avoid buying two separate DI boxes. From the idea it seems like I need phantom power.

Can you use this for vocals using an audio interface?

The RNDI isn't designed to amplify mic-level signals, so we wouldn't recommend it. Use it on guitar, bass, synthesizers - anything with an instrument-level out! For vocals (using a microphone), we make a number of mic preamps: rupertneve.com/mic-preamps

Hey people! :) I am thinking about putting this on my pedalboard after a Milkman The Amp Stereo amp&cab.sim. So to the 2 XLRs coming out from the RNDI-S would go to the main mixer when playing live. What do you guys think?

So can I come out of my paddleboard stereo? The last pedal is the amp cab sim (UA dream) into this box would it be the thru’s? And then out of this box into two of the mic channels w phantom power engaged?
