I love their little chubby bulbs! Omg I never realized how adorable these plants are as I normally only see the blooms but have always loved their blooms. So cute indeed! *^^*

Laura, hi 😍💐 they are just adorable! I cannot tell you how much they captured my heart when I got my first order! I stopped looking for other orchids and made a list of all the species of rupicolous laelias... I feel as though I need them all 😂 some blooms do not last long, but some last months! The colors are out of this world when they come with colors. The lip is mesmerizing... yes, these little orchids, they have truly become something that I fuss over like mama bear 😂 thank you so much for watching, Laura!! 🫶🏼❤️🌸

Listening to you will I putter around in the kitchen. Today is Mike's surgery, so trying to stay busy till I hear something. Interesting vid and I hope they all decide to stop playing games with you and Grow!! 😅 You give them the utmost of care, the least they could do is grow and reward you with blooms. 👍🏻. Hope your day is awesome, and I'll catch you next time. 😁

HI Robert 🥰💐 I hope that, by the time you read this, that you have heard some news and that it is good news! 🙏🏼🤞🏼 I know the feeling of having to wait and 'there is nothing I can do at this point' / staying busy to make time go faster! Some of these little ones are behaving and qu'elle surprise... blooming for the first time! Then there are the others which are just not sure if they want to stick around or not! I have to convince them that the former is the best course of action! 😬 my day was ok-ish. I felt as though I didn't get much done but that is not the case. I have done a lot of editing on individual clips, got one video filmed that was important because we got the blooms. But am not able to upload a finished video today because the edited videos are not complete! Not finishing a video makes me feel as though I have not accomplished much, but that is just a mental thing that I have. One day I am going to be uploading 3 videos because there are only little bits and pieces missing. I could not be having these clips waiting to go into a project anymore. It was getting messy and driving me crazy! Meanwhile, I found a surprise spike on my Vanda Chao Praya on the top of the main stem where it cracked the first time 😃 no roots up there, but it seems to be getting energy from somewhere 👍🏼 wishing you a peaceful and calm rest of your day, Robert!! Thank you for listening to me while you have other things on your mind! Really appreciate you 😘🥰🌸

Hi Marjorie 🥰💐 they are such a pleasure to grow! Definitely worth getting a few to experience them in person! Some say that growing orchids that bloom with tiny blooms, makes no sense, ... well, that is fantastic! It reduces the competition in finding the ones I am missing 😂😂 the blooms are cute though! Many similarities amongst the varieties but ... all of them are cute! Thank you so much for watching, Marjorie!! Looking forward to hearing what rupicolous laelia could make it into your collection. P.S.: the kettiana has bloomed out 🙌🏼 3 blooms!! They are the daisies for us orchid growers!! Adorable 🥰

Belzakim, hi 🤩💐 welcome! I have not seen you here before, so first of all, a warm warm welcome and thank you so very much for being here, I really appreciate it 🤗 you collect them as well? Woohooo!!! I am a little crazy about them tbh... I am looking for the ones that I do not have, and it is getting harder and harder to source them. Unfortunately, I lost some that were really small, and others that I could not grow to strength, so they collapsed. Such a shame. So... I am really focussing and fussing over my collection because... LOVE them! So good to know that you saw this video and maybe we can go gaga over these cuties together in the future 😂 thank you so much for watching and once again, welcome 🤗🌸

NINA!!! Completely missed this video! Thank you so much for showing your rupicolous Laelias. They're so beautiful. Both my angereri and milleri are sulking beyond measure. Also my ghilanyi... Boo! But many others are doing really great and filling their pots (no breaks yet either haha). I just need to create more very high light areas for all of them. This summer has been rough for them... :( But the sanguiloba bloomed beautifully. Others have attempted that - let's see. So glad to see the vasconcelosiana is doing that well for you. Mine is kinda unhappy. I would be very very interested to see your list of plants you're missing. Maybe we can all keep our eyes pealed...

MATT!!!! 👻🤣😍💐 hi!! I figured that, one day, you will stumble across it and wasn't going to point you in it's direction! You have been so busy with your paper getting even more smarts into your system, that I figured you went all out this summer to have yourself a fabulous time... and here you are, so, thank you so much for watching 🤗 I lost my angereri! What an orchid! So much hope for over a year, and then poof... collapse. My milleri got hit with thrips but I got to them in time, and the new growth is still clean. Seems like those are in the category of divas in the rupicolous laelias? 🤔 I have hope for my milleri, yet! Blumenscheinii, though... that orchid is just insane! Even the little single bulb is now growing a new grow again 😃 gotta embrace the survivors to not get really upset. I am glad to hear that your sanguiloba bloomed beautifully! That is awesome! Mine is growing a new growth, which is much needed as the rest looks like the leaning tower of Pisa 🤣 I can send you my list in a PDF file if you want, also for your reference in case there is something that is of use to you as far as information is concerned. I am hoping to get the xanthina and vasconcelosiana potted up soon here. Then they can settle in during the less stressful time of year for them. Soooo happy with that new growth coming right after the one that kinked off! Amazing 🙏🏼 thank you so very much for watching, Matt... or, should I address you as Dr. now? 🎓👍🏼👍🏼

Olá Rogério! 😍💐 Bem-vindo! Eu me inscrevi no seu canal.

Nice little collection lovely arranged,, but boy are they difficult to grow! I had L briegeri x aclandiae for many years but eventually after 7 years growing well ahe rotted off at the base didn't like semi hydro very well. Interesting info about the lenght of the flowering spikes , l regentii.. to the right looks fabulous. 💗 Thank's for this interesting video,, I didn't know much about these guys
@NinjaOrchids2 жыл бұрын
Hi Karin 😍💐 they are not easy, that is for sure! Well, some seem to have no issues, and then there are others that just 'poof' collapse or don't get going at all. Still have a lot of figuring out to do. I am so glad that most of them are progressing though 👍🏼 briegeri x aclandiae!! What an interesting cross! 7 years and then... how strange and I am sorry to hear that 😣 that one regentii from Lucke, it looks so good that I feel as though the others may not be regentii 😅 thank YOU so much for watching, Karin and for your comment! I hope that your day was bearable and not too unpleasantly hot! I think most of Europe is experiencing higher temperatures that we are down here. Or, there is something wrong with me, because I don't feel the heat at all 😒 that is why I am such a pansy when I see temperatures of 17º 😒

@@NinjaOrchids Gi there thus hot evil evening..sweat everywhere don't have the energy even to follow my planned filmning schedule...to hot...again.. this country is either rain and 15 degrees or hot humid 34 degrees 😁😁 well I recognise me spending my summers in Spain every summer until I turned 16... it was no higher than 36 degrees and not humid so it didn't feel all that hot. But I shouldnt complain,, look at Germany,,,UK...they are struggeling right now,, we folks in Sweden always seem to just float our way through every hard time theres ever been. For good or bad. The briegeri cross really inherited nothing at all from the aclandiae it seems it looked exactly like yours 💗
@NinjaOrchids2 жыл бұрын
you are right about the lack of humidity here making the temperatures not feel hot at all. When I was in Germany and it was 20º with high humidity I felt as though I was in Kenya and it was only 20º 😵💫 when I was in Vegas for work it was 45º-50º and dry heat... I did not feel it to be that hot, but if you sat on concrete, you got up really fast! 😆

Only thirty minutes? I would expect at least an hour talking about the stocking stuffers. 😉 I'm ever so glad to see gracilis blooming for you, hopefully next year she will grace you with more of those adorable little blooms. And I'd like to see the strugglers pull through since replacing them won't be easy. I've got the little Laelia aurea, which isn't a rupicolous Laelia, but it is somewhat similar in appearance. But you know what would have been really funny, if you started the video with a Phalaenopsis, just to mess with Matty's brain.

Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe! I thought the video was really long 😅 I was trying to keep it as short as possible, but yes... that was a hard ask of myself. Yap yap yap!! I can do that with almost any orchid, but who wants to hear it? 😆 I lost a subscriber today and have a thumbs down, soooo 😬 was it something I said? Anyway... I love them, and yap yap yap! I hope that the ones struggling will make a turn around as well! Angereri, really? The reason I had the issues with Floralia in 2021 was because of the one day in February when I was angry and looked at the pricelist, saw angereri and boom... bought! The headaches that followed was because of angereri... and it is not managing very well? 😤 I don't see the fairness in that! But... guess what! When filming the broll footage of the large kautskyana that I got recently, I did not see the new growth at the base 🤩 not even during editing, it is that disguised and blends in with the color of the lava rock! Only yesterday, when I moved it from under the staging area to the shady east side, did I see a new growth and it was quite large already 😅 happy days when that happens! I did not think of the phal angle at all!! That would have been amazing! 🤣🤣 *adds 10 minutes to the video going through the rupicolous growth habit with a phal as an example! 🤣🤣 that would have been too funny! I hope he reads your comment some day! Thank you, Michael, so much for watching, I appreciate it so much! Hope your humpday was fabulous 😘🌸

@@NinjaOrchids well, that's rude. The funny part of giving a thumbs down is that the algorithm treats thumbs up and thumbs down exactly the same. I think it was Charlie White (PenguinZ0) that talked about a video had like 3 likes and 5000 dislikes and the algorithm was promoting it like crazy. The thumbs down is for the creator, so if they wanted to hurt you, they would have been better off not giving the thumbs down. Oh well, what's one subscriber anyway. Today was visiting the optometrist. My dreams of lens replacement got shot down, I'm stuck with my horrible prescription. At least my vision only drifted a half point. It usually drifts a quarter point a year, so I was expecting nearly a point drift from the last prescription. Oh, and one bud failed on the Richard Mueller x C. labiata, but the other is growing nicely, shouldn't be too much longer until it opens.

Why do some new growths grow so slowly? I have a few that have new growths but they are growing so slowly.
@NinjaOrchids2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandie 😍💐 soooo, how long has it been since you have seen the new growths so that I can understand the 'slowly' better? Usually it takes a long time from seeing the swelling at the base before the growth cracks a leaf, but after that their growth spurt increases and could be considered fast! I had a nubbin on my pabstii for the longest time, 3 months, at least! And suddenly... it opens to show the leaf structure and then boom, now we are growing! Let me know which ones you have and how long have you been watching the new growths. I may be able to be more specific. Some new growths don't mature either, for some other reasons, they just stop, and don't develop. I have one indoors like that, and one outdoors that featured in this video. One growth pulled through and on the same orchid, the other did not. That is something I have not figured out. Really appreciate you watching, Sandie! I hope that you had yourself a great day, that your ground has dried out and you are busy with setting up your greenhouse 🤞🏼❤️🌸

My Dendrobium anosmum for example is growing new growths but that started to grow back in April and has only grown about 2 leaves and is maybe if your lucky 2 millimeters tall since April. Greenhouse foundation we will be starting on on the weekend then we will get started on the greenhouse.
@NinjaOrchids2 жыл бұрын
My anosmum is doing exactly the same 😳 wow! I thought it was just mine! Well... that is odd, considering that you have a normal growing one, if I remember correctly? Mine has been struggling for years, so I though that was why my growth is taking it's sweet time, but your's? I have to think about that for a day or two and get back to you with some kind of rhyme or reason
