Thank you for bringing up the weapon balance topic, Rurikhan! It was very interesting to hear from both of your persectives and I really do appreciate it! I actually meant that the question was more for the general player-base (with a bit of the speedrunning community I suppose) and if the disparity of weapons really affect the player-base. For me, it does kinda suck not just as a runner but as weapon loyalist knowing that some weapons do better than CB but are also easier to use, but like Gaijin said, when is there ever a perfectly balanced game? Nothing's ever perfect and it's just too unrealistic to reach. I just hope the community learns to not compare weapons (yea unfortunately some idiots do that) and appreciate the weapons for what they are and enjoy them, but also yea buff gunlance and charge blade pls.

I really loved the spaced out content, I know it's not the most common point of view, but this "update per month thing" got me hours more of enjoyment, after each new update you get to play a lot more with the new content and it always feel fresh. Nobody would've farmed last boss fight this much for instance if Valstrax was already out. Same for the Apexes, when they got out of the Rampage it was so cool

1:23:58 i had to make a comment about this part because there’s one monster that I’ve been saying is way too underrated and that’s Great Girros. I recently picked up World (because i finally was able to get something to be able to play it) and Great Girros just completely stood out from the other monsters I’ve fought (so far in the story I’m past the part where you fight Odogaron). Whenever people talk about Great Girros 90% of the time it’s people making the comment that they forget he was in the game which is really disappointing given how absolutely amazing the fight is. I just love the staging of the figh, where it has the small Girros just circling around you while you face Great Girros, until he steps back and calls and then you just get hit with wave after wave of Girros that can paralyze you. I also just love how Great Girros attacks you by just hurling himself at you, like how he will just jump in the air and head but the ground and roll on his back. Idk, Great Girros is a really under appreciated monster and i would absolutely die if Capcom puts him in Rise Ultimate (or hopefully base Rise but that ship has probably already sailed)

On the topic of balance being important or not in MH, I believe that it does 100%. Obviously nothing can be perfectly balanced, that's pretty much impossible, but attempting to balance as much as you can is what I think devs should always try to do. I think that knowing that you're playing one of the weaker weapons in the game actually does hinder your experience, even if you're not actively thinking about it, it's always in the back of your mind that you could be playing better with a different weapon. Knowing that you're basically handicapping yourself by playing a weapon that is known to be weaker really sucks. It's a really bad feeling imo, and I don't think saying "well this is a PVE game so who cares" is a good way to look at it at all.

Thank you for bringing up the topic of weapon balance! While I do think there are issues with balance damaging- I think there are pretty big issues from even a pve perspective especially from a multiplayer perspective. There are many weapons that really feel like many of their primary purposes have been pushed out as the games have expanded. As a hammer main I hesitate to bring the weapon to hunts anymore because a lot of fun in using the hammer at all is getting KOs and giving your team large windows. Now that lbg is the light hammer, bow being able to stun and sns having metsu- I struggle to see what the weapon even brings to the table anymore- it cant even cut tails. You want to feel useful in hunts so a lot of players will default to using what ends up doing the most damage and it ends up being the top tier weapons or weapons that can proc cc easily.

Speaking of weapon designs, I actually love the Kushala Daora weapons with the animal motifs. Also, I've heard there used to be a Chameleos SnS in the older games. Is this true? The only Chameleos weapon I used was the IG (in 4U and Rise). I get the feeling the SA Gaijin had in mind for Ruri might be the Almudron SA (the Monado).

I got really into those food delivery services like Blue Apron. It really helped during lock down. It was all fresh ingredients in perfect portion, so no waste. For weapon balancing: May I present you to LBG, my (previous, still kinda am) main It does: - A whole lot of damage - A whole lot of utility - A whole lot of mobility and aggression All of this while being the easiest and safest weapon in the game. Whereas weapons like HBG only has Stickies, LBG has nearly everything under the sun and more. Besides LS, GL, CB, the ranged weapons, and DBs (they've been reduced to demon flight for good damage imo), the balance here is alright. Granted, so was World and GU when we get rid of the problematic ones.

I think one main difference about E3 these days is that games seem to take between 3 and 10 times longer to develop - and E3 is an annual event. So one solution would be to change E3 to every ~3 years, and have some kind of E3-Lite that tends to be focused on smaller announcements every year.

I believe that rise ultimate will heavily reference 4u, hence why there wasn’t a single monster from it (Zam, Tetsu, Najarala -> obviously bc wirebug, etc.), hence why minoto & hinoa propose more villages will request our aid soon, hence why rondine hasn’t had any involvement in the story what so ever. I think you’ll travel to far off lands with her and the smithy, could even imagine taking Hinoa or Minoto with you (have a travelling squad like in 4u). Edit: Wait, I think you talked to Rondine for something in the earlier parts of the game.

Taste buds are insane.. the biggest thing i remember about it. 1 year i loved brusselsprouts and my brother hated it.. and every year it flipped around so then suddenly i hated it and my brother really liked it. and that went on for atleast 6 years. Favorite food lately though is a couple pigs in a blanket with white beans and tomato saus. Fish however.. i want to like it but unless its like deep fired or fish-sticks i can't keep it down. i LOVE lagombi for the amount of times i had to fight snow baron i hope they bring a apex of him in at some point cuz his move set was a pain but i think it would make for a fun challenge for the wire bugs the amount of moving around he dose exhausting your wire bugs him throwing multiple and massive snowballs in the air andd the snowball effect in general would make the fight pretty difficult and they could even make his ice freeze your regen on wire bugs for a time

I really like your perspective that it should be more like some weapons do well against certain monsters and not as well against others. Was wondering - do you feel like capcom could find ways to give melee weapons meaningful advantages to make them compete with guns, or would that just be a useless over tuning? If we had full game at release everyone would be wearing Valstrax armor week 2 and everyone would be done. Remember when people wore Zinogre armor the first 3 weeks. Now that we have full game no one touches any of those pieces.

Okay, I'm gonna gross out all of you. I'm Austrian. Here, we have something called "Beuschel". Looked it up and the translations seem to be "lights, innards, innwards". It's what it sounds like. But it's so SO tasty. My grandma used to make it on special occasions because I love it so much. I don't eat it very often though. Haven't had it in years. I also love sea food a lot. My lazy dish is just seasoned fish filets. I also looooooove cheese. In Iceborne, that cheese pie (? not sure what it is called) looks so absolutely delicious. On the weapons: I love GL and SA the most. You know what weapon I get my best times with? Dual Blades - like, I can kill Rathian in 6 minutes, my best times with GL and SA are 10. I don't know why, but I do. I have since stopped trying to compare weapons because in the end, my affinity towards weapons varies so wildly, apparently. What I do not ever want to see again, though, is Capcoms absolutely garbage marketing of prowlers. I stopped playing multiplayer with randoms starting Generations because I was getting kicked out of lobbies instantly so much, even with fully kitted out prowlers. NEVER EVER say in the marketing that a weapon type deals less damage again. Please, Capcom.
