Ah, yes, perfectionism! I've always struggled with it and after over 10 years of wanting to start my channel, I was fed up with it and just started posting this past week. Even though I basically have no views at all yet, I feel soo liberated from it and like I'm actually actively kicking it in the butt by...just doing it (in tiny, imperfect steps). It sounds so simple and obvious, but it's one of the hardest things I've tried to overcome and it just feels so rewarding and exciting already! (: Just do the tiniest steps and you'll get there! Also, Ruri, thank you, from one adhd brain to another! (: Simple, clear and lots of valuable nuggets!

I love your videos, Ruri. And i totally agree the most important thing is to keep posting anyway. Your videos actually help me a lot, a tried to make a channel some years ago and had no consistency cuz i was tu worried about lighting, setting, editing, b-roll... but i'm a photographer, so you're right again lol. Now i'm carefully thinking about what type of content i like to make and all of my thinking is been around reduce friction. Find a video editor that don't crashes on my computer cuz i don't have money to get a new one, finding a framing that i like, cuz i know if i dont get the framing i won't post it cuz the photographer in me would be outraged. Nothing fancy. Just clean. A light i can control. All jus so i can simply record and edit without worry too much about. Just like working out, if the gym is close to home, is way easier than walk an hour every day or something like that. Btw, i lived the spoonsor of today, i never saw something so cool, definetely gonna check it. Happy holidays and new year for y'll folks.

Awesome content as always, and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us and I hope 2025 is going to be even better :) IMO, growing channel is never about luck. You have to be ready to get popular as fast as possible. Trends are always the same, just give people fun and engaging content, and you are good to go. Of course, it can be tough at the beginning (that's why I am using a little bit of Famester for every video I post. It makes everything a lot easier).

This is excellent advice. One of the biggest tips is to copy bigger creators, but that advice alone will do nothing. You have to know why they did what they did. And THAT should be the manner in which we copy. Not by just copying their style.

Great Video, Ruri! I started my channel almost a year ago on a whim just to promote my art. But one video somewhat went viral and encouraged me to make it a proper channel with its own content and not just some backlog. I first didn't know what I was doing, but that was fine because I didn't need to figure everything out at once. I learned things one step at a time and have been gradually growing. I hope to reach 1000 subscribers next year. And thank you as well for inspiring me to take the first step! Your story of initially starting KZbin before the eventual success motivates me to keep pushing forward! GANBARE! :)

Great video, i do want to point out that your mic sounds a little muddy which can make your voice a little harder to understand for some people, learning to EQ out the muddiness and maybe a presence boos6t with eq would make your voice allot more intelligible and sound allot nicer. . the sm7b is a very bass heavy mic that focuses on the low end, its a great mic but it usually needs a little EQ work

Being a KZbinr is very similar to running your own business. You should upload things people want to see, just like businessman should offer product/service that people need. And when the growth becomes real, you can consider hiring people to help you run your channel more efficiently. The most difficult part is starting and growing of course, but consistency and hard work will always pay off at the end.
