I was one of the fortunate few who was able to attend this and I wanted to point out a few adds. When you hear people speaking of the crowd erupting, they meant it. I have been to a ton of concerts and some extremely large crowd events. Nothing, I mean nothing was as deafening by a crowd than in the staples center that night. After the first 30 seconds to a minute you just had to laugh at it. By the second minute your eyes were well opened and people staring at each other in amazement. By the third minute and what seemed an eternity the crowd finally went down. HBO did a massive edit on their final cut of the show and it doesn't do it justice. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever been graced with attending

The reaction from Jan, the joy on Grohl's face, those at the Rush table with their hands to their mouths, astonished, the peer musicians standing up to show the enormous RESPECT they have for the undeniable talent and the good faith with which it has been delivered to us all for 40 years. Even without the deafening roar of appreciation, you can see the impact on the faces. What a memorable moment in MUSIC, let alone rock history.

I have never cried this much, over people I've never meet. I'm 57 years old now. My first concert 2112. We were longhaired hippie pot smokers. But,we knew music. I had played my 2112 record a hundred times. But,when I saw Rush live. It was incredible. I've saw them 13 times since that day. Damn,I had no warning. Just, once second the greatest drummer that ever lived, was dead. RIP to the professor. Thanks Rush, you never let me down. The world is turning a little slower. RUSH stands among the best bands of Rock & Roll. Where Led Zeppelin, Yes, Pink Floyd, The Who and The Rolling Stones were loved and made successful by radio airplay RUSH truly gained its success from its fans. Who knows how many thousands of musicians around the world were inspired to pick up a guitar, bass or drums because of their musicianship and independence of from the music industry. This was their day of recognition not only by the fans but by the music industry who paid homage to the Kings of Progressive Rock!

My favourite part about this is seeing how happy and excited Tom Morello and Dave Grohl are at applauding Rush. Also how stunned Alex, Geddy and Neil are at the crowd. They knew they made amazing music and moved plenty of fans but for the first time their seeing how dedicated they are to them and how much of a beautiful legacy they have left.

Grew up with this band. Heard "Working Man" as a teenager and I was hooked. Every time I see the induction ceremony, I hate to say I tear up but I do. Yeah, I'm 56. Stupid I know but these three musicians are true geniuses.

Every time i watch this i cry. These guys deserve those ovations and so much more .. The expressions on all there faces says it all you are loved. This short few minutes watching neil makes me feel soooo fortunate to have listened and read his works. Wonder if she realizes how strong the devotion is in Rushs fanbase and the love for her husband is. 🌹✌🙏🇺🇸

Thanks guys for being the soundtrack to my life since I was a teenager. Im now 52 and you have always been there since I heard 2112 as a 15 year old and it blew my mind. I have been there at EVERY gig in the UK, never got the chance to see you in Canada but my bank account has taken enough of a bashing over the years! The fans are loyal because they know how good the music is and how humble you are as musicians and creatives.....back to the music.....

As a lifelong Rush fan this was a great moment to behold, especially seeing all the love from their fellow musicians. Pleasantly surprised to see Dave Grohl’s reaction. His drumming style is the polar opposite of Neil’s.

I was in that crowd that night and let me tell you I don't think any of the videos of that moment capture what it was really like. When I first got out of the cab at the event I said, wow there's a lot of Rush fans here. And then the "And from Toronto" moment came, I thought the roof was going to blow off the place. All of the Rush fans took over 100%.

Apart from their matchless musicianship & catalogue, what an example of no-compromises, professionalism, teamwork, & committment to going your own way. I learned so much from them, even now I'm mining ideas & taking stock of things thanks to Rush. Mahalo for 40 years of a fantastic musical journey.

I became a fan in 1975 when I attended a Blue Oyster Cult concert in Duluth Minnesota and Rush was the opening act. They were debuting the 2112 album at the time along with songs from the previous three albums out at the time. I admit, that at that time, I had never heard of Rush before. The day after the concert I went to the local record store and bought all of their albums! Saw them next in 1987 and lastly, and DAMN glad I did, was during the R40 tour in 2015.
