Your insights on Rush are incredible and explain why many, and me personally, love this band more than any other. I usually cry during Rush reaction videos because of the performance heights they reached almost every time, and all 3 of them will never grace the stage together again. But this particular performance floored me, even though I had seen them in concert 19 times and watched countless videos. Sure, Geddy's voice almost broke, but he kept in control and delivered. To perform in this fashion at 57-59 years of age is almost unfathomable. ALL 3 OF THEM. That tightness from them during that drum "solo" is a display of "bullying" rarely attained by any band, at any point in their career. And I didn't think they could ever impress more than they've already had in the last 43 years.

why does this band works despite the fact that it's full of stars... First thing that comes in mind is that there are no inflated egos in it.. Three true friends... Alex is a master guitarist but he is not selfish in any way. how many time do we see guitarist making solo just to show off but no melody in it, not Alex, he complement the song when he needs to, he can play rythm guitar when Geddy takes the lead role and vice versa... each one is exactly 1/3 on the band and it is like that since the begining

YES is a good example of a band of five assertive, masterful players that when it works, it is astounding, but there are moments when it starts to feel like the gravitational crush is reaching critical mass, Lol!!

A fan of Rush since 1976. I understand why everyone was in an uproar about Van Halen when they first came out, I was one of those people. Eddie had a trick, and that's fine. but the body of work from a band should reflect their drive and creativity, not just a few tricks thrown in for good measure. I would put Michael Schenker above Eddie for sheer phrasing and melodic composition alone. But Alex Lifeson is something else altogether. No other guitarist, save Frank Zappa, or Robert Fripp, throughout their career managed to be more diverse and wide of scope at the same time than Alex. His ambient use of arpeggios are flawless, and his choice of sevenths and ninths in chordal structure are unique to him. i may be slightly biased, but I make no apologies... Listen to Rush.

This is not in Portugal, it's been uploaded by someone in Portugal but to my knowledge Rush have never played live in Portugal, certainly not on the Clockwork Angels tour
