Glad to see you back. Great reactions. Looking forward to the day you react to Working Man live in Cleveland and Xanadu live-Exit Stage Left-1981. Saw Rush playing in a little bar in summer of 1974. Have been a fan ever since. I am turning 70 in a couple of months and Rush is still part of my daily play list.

Hi tony! Nice to see you back in business:) I have listened Rush alongside of hundreds or thousands artist and bands, but still I always come back to their music. There's not a single song you can mix to any other artist or band. That's how unique they were... Of course this is my opinion but I think I'm not alone here.

I saw three shows on this tour - both nights in Toronto (back to back nights) and then a show in Albany, NY a couple weeks later. Some Presto songs made it to the Roll the Bones tour and I remember the giant rabbits in hats lasted more tours than I thought they should have! Tony - may as well finish out Presto and then move onto Roll the Bones. You know the expression - 'Well, that didn't age well!' Rush music is the exact opposite of that for me. Sometimes they took on some of the aspects of what was happening at the time, but Rush's music has aged incredibly well - the lyrics are timeless and still so appropriate and the music complex enough to enjoy over and over and over. Even albums and music that didn't especially stand out at the time has aged incredibly well. The '80s era that was so maligned at the time sounds brilliant now. Keep it going and watch as they evolve again.

For me, this era from Power Window to Roll the Bones is the ‘bright’ era of uplifting bright songs that always bring a smile. Don’t skip on Presto: Hand Over Fist. Anagram. The Pass. And on Roll the Bones: The Big Wheel. You Bet Your Life. Heresy. Then this era is followed up with a short grunge period with some of my all time favorite bad ass tunes. Animate. Cut to the Chase. Cold Fire. Driven. Time and Motion. Half The World. Between Sun and Moon. Sooooo much more good stuff to come.

I saw the Presto tour when I was a senior in college, and then every tour (some of them twice) after that except for R40. It was an awesome show, and one thing I recalled after that was how I'd leave shows from Roll the Bones and after wishing they'd have continued playing more Presto stuff live...but they just didn't. Also interesting that they didn't actually play the song Presto during the Presto tour....didn't play it live until the Time Machine Tour in 2010. And even funnier was I had both of my sons, ages 9 and 14 at the time, with me on July 3, 2010, for the Time Machine show in Milwaukee. They opened with Spirit of Radio, then Time Stand Still (which drove my 9 year old son to tears of joy, no joke, his favorite), and then they went straight into Presto = which then caused my 14 year old son to immediately scream, "They've never played this live before!!!"...yes, my 14 year old knew and realized that fact even before I did, and it was his 3rd Rush show at 14, LOL.

Good to see your back get after the Rush. You have lots of catching up to do. LOL Seen this live back in the nineties. I think they kicked off the tour at The Palace in Auburn hills in Michigan. It was a great concert. Play some more it is a great album, didn't know what to think of it at the time but love it now.

Social media is the mirror. Neil was such a savant. Neil was describing how the people will see what they want to see. When people want something, they make it happen even when it's based on a distortion of truth like vanity. The beautiful and the wise must remember the mirror always lies.

Nice to see you back Tone. If you haven't yet reacted to it, you will really enjoy "The Analog Kid" from the SIGNALS album. Would love to see your reaction to it. Also, a LIVE version of 2112 from 1997 Molson Arena concert would definitely be worthy of a reaction! Keep enjoying the RUSH!☮☮☮

Love this album! To me it’s about, when people look at themselves, they see what they want to be, not what they truly look like. So, they think they have to put on makeup or specific clothes just to be good looking. I think what Neil was trying to say is that you shouldn’t look at yourself and think your ugly or you shouldn’t try change your looks or personality, just to fit in or be beautiful. You should just be yourself.
@brettking10143 жыл бұрын
I love this song! So full of meaning...whether it’s makeup, clothes or the car you drive...it’s all just War Paint we put on for the evening’s battle of conquest. Been married for 25 years...she’s more beautiful without all that. This is a biting song...Awesome! Welcome back Tony...missed you!

Thanks and welcome back! That's a great one from Rush, one that Geddy, during the Presto tour, used to introduce as "one of our favs" from the new album. It's certainly one that could have been a single, if they were a bit more ambitious about such things (alas, they weren't). Well, I shouldn't be too critical; they did have "Show Don't Tell", "The Pass" and "Superconductor" (and "Presto"?) as singles from the album, so that's not too bad. :) Anyway, so, another Rush song...hmmm...how about something from "Test For Echo"? What have you done from that album? "Test For Echo", "Driven", "Virtuality", and "Totem" are great songs, along with an instrumental called "Limbo"! Also, if you want to do something more heavy-Prog, there's "Time and Motion". Great album, check it out!

Hey Tone! Good to see you back checking out Rush. I would like to watch your reaction to Test For Echo from Rush. It is the title track from the 96 album Test For Echo. Great everything and Neil had a new approach to the drums
@ischmidt3 жыл бұрын
Neil's lyrics were so much more relatable in this era vs. the more adolescent 70s stuff the band is better known for. They're good on the next two albums too. Counterparts has some of the most mature lyrics about relationships anyone's ever written. It's extra tragic that he lost his relationships only a few years after that.
@snowdog58953 жыл бұрын
Welcome back Tony! Most refer to this as the synth era, I consider it the songwriting era. They really refined their craft during this time and it of course led to the awesome "comeback" era starting with Vapor Trails in 2002! 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂

This is what I call They lost their edge, where's Alex era. This was a pretty good song and you can actually here Alex playing. Presto is not a bad album. Nothing compared to their earlier stuff which was amazing but has some good songs on it. I love Counter Parts. Animate and The speed of love are two of my favs. The main monkey business which I think is off Roll the Bones but I am not sure. Cheers ✌🇨🇦
@lewisbernstein42723 жыл бұрын
The Main Monkey Business is off of 2007's Snakes and Arrows. My advice to a guy like Tony is to keep going through the catalog. Finish Presto, go to Roll the Bones, then Counterparts, then Test for Echo. I wouldn't do all of Vapor Trails, but I sure would do all of S & A and Clockwork Angels.
