I recommend that developers also apportion areas for green spaces too. We have to strike a balance between concrete structures and nature which has its many advantages. I wouldn’t want Kingston to look like Barcelona.

These are originally house lots so you’re not gonna get much free space on the ground with these developments. They would have to do like what they do in Singapore and drape the buildings with greenery and then have rooftop gardens.
@Kenjardo6 ай бұрын
An idea came to me recently. That is to dedicate an entire floor or at least one half of a floor to green space and still have the balcony gardens.

The next time you choose to reverse on a main road or any road, you reverse into the lot first which gives you the advantage of seeing the main road, which gives you the option to turn left or right. Do not drive into the lot then reverse onto the main road as you did. No wonder the driver of that vehicle had to honk you at 3:21. As usual nice drone view and info.

@Kenjardo, fully agree. I accept my wrong. Not an excuse, but two things, the property was a private property so wasn't sure I could enter, so I was hesitant and secondly recording and driving can be distraction hence why it shouldn't happen...

Nice video and nice apartment. Jamaica is going to have mostly apartments going forward. Now with maintenance costs tied to inflation, will these factors affect locals, Jamaican from owning these lovely buildings?

This area you’re featuring is part of the former Drumblair estate once owned by the Manley family. It featured a stream (now a concrete gully), meadow, fruit trees, cattle grazing area and horse back riding.

Jamaica need to build high rise building up to 32 stories we don't have enough land space to keep on building low rise apartments buildings
@michelelewis-mx4ty6 ай бұрын
Most Jamaicans would hate a dense 32 story. It would be allowed either to many people and traffic in one structure.
@dedan26 ай бұрын
We don't need ja to have 32 floor buildings. Especially at these massively exorbitant prices.
@tricia70166 ай бұрын
To have a 32 story apartment building would require a fire department that has the capability and necessary equipments, ladders, and training to handle fires or other emergencies at that height, and Jamaica does not. There’s no need to go that high.
@iamdcraze25 күн бұрын
It's a very rigid approval process esp as it relates to parking, water, sewerage disposal and the ability of our fire brigade to reach that height. Kingston and MoBay so far have approvals for 28 storeys. Location is also integral and there is a growing trend where a number of developments are stuck with unsold units on completion. That has resulted in some developers playing it safe by seeking approvals in the 4 to 10 floor range.

We don't need these apartment buildings. More densely populated cities equals more traffic and we know these roads won't get widened. Kingston doesn't even get consistent water during the drought season. I pray for us.Not every thing we need to follow.

Jamaica’s development and full potential has been lagging our neighbors Dominican Republic and Trinidad! With Guyana’s newly found oil reserves, it is really just a matter of time before they join Trinidad and D.R at the forefront of Caribbean development! Kingston in particular needs a major overhaul
