The guitar solo on the studio version sends tingles down the spine. Dave's is a great solo but it's Guthrie's all day long for me.
@Cheximus7 жыл бұрын
Not even close. I appreciate what he's trying to do, and that he's feeling it his own way, but it does nothing for me. How can anything come close to Guthrie's though? It's possibly the GOAT solo.

+william mcmonagle I think it's incredibly difficult to replace Guthrie (just like the other members) and I love his playing especially the solos too much to fully be able enjoying Dave's new influence. Hope I am gonna be able to adjust/get used to it.
@jkman109 жыл бұрын
+Thomas Venus Is Dave a permanent member now? Or is he just when Guthrie can't play?
@thomasvenus11299 жыл бұрын
+jkman10 Early last year, it was written the following about the tour in the Americas on the SW homepage: "This will also be the first show with a changed band line up, as Guthrie Govan and Marco Minnemann will be departing at the end of the European tour to fulfill touring commitments with their own band The Aristocrates". So I guess (and hope) that the replacement is/was only temporary for the tour in the Americas.

Up to just a few months ago I knew there was a group called Porcupine Tree but I never listened to their music, I had never heard the name Steven Wilson... I'm going to be 50 years old and in the last months my life has changed! In so many years I've listened to great music of many different artists but now I can't stay without Steven's notes, I've gone to his concert in my hometown, Bergamo, I think he's really a great musician and... I can feel I'm still alive!!
@javiercarrizoe59417 жыл бұрын
The great John Wetton (R.I.P) after listening to Drive Home, while driving by Panama’s magrove beautiful nature at dusk, wrote: Govan’s lead in that song is only comparable to Dave Gilmour’s 1979 Comfortably Numb.

It's my opinion that it's not in the interest of Music to stick in a stubborn position, these musicians are some of the best cats ever and we owe them the deepest respect.
