The fact that you can deliberatly drum badly is rather impressive

+Cubby Kovu You can see him laughing. When you have it memorized in your muscles, it's actually harder to play badly.

Interesting. I jog around my neighborhood and there's this kid who is practicing drums. Cool. His timekeeping sucks and he's working on, I think, improving a double-bass groove and he is always coming in on the four late... always. ALWAYS. I wish he would watch this.

pulse will be dramatically affected by it an it iwll be very difficult to develope long term over the whiole composition.or through the whole evenings performance

@sevenoverthree Totally! In my experience, time is best learned by playing with others who have a more developed sense of time. And listening to lots of great players and how their playing interacts with the groove. Intentionally doing the wrong thing might bring to the surface a couple of issues, but probably won't teach you a whole lot because real progress comes from pushing toward a higher ideal, not NOT doing the infinite amount of wrong things.

whaaaat...? Meter is not the BPM! Meter is amount of downbeats in a particular unit of time, such at 4 quarter notes per bar = 4/4. I'm not referring to the time signature witch of course is 4/4, 3/4, 6/8, etc....

Why does everyone that claims to be a groove master seem to have a snare with a high pitched ring that they play just a little too hard?
@CharlieWeller11 жыл бұрын
Already been said but should be reiterated.. Meter refers to the # of beats per measure, TOTALLY different from beats per minute. yikes!!

I disliked the video for the confusion of meter with tempo. That's kind of a big mistake. :-)
