In 1972/3 the Green Party was formed (as the People Party, then the Ecology Party, then the Green Party). I'm 66. Still working to persuade people of the dangers facing us. It’s basically just “Culling our population” to a more sustainable number, with the added benefit of providing food to animals. Not that they’d need it really, it’d probably be better if we, say, created a big pit, and dumped the corpses into it, creating a human fed fertilizer dump. Then used that to help provide nutrients to soil which we have messed up severely. Ooh, even better, that thing where your corpse feeds a tree! Just kill off 30% of the population, and make them into those! That’d help probably. Less humans, less fucking up the planet. I’m MOSTLY joking. Nothing counts as terrorism if the people in power say it isn’t. It’s still a joke of course, but not a single person can say it wouldn’t work. It’s like the difference between doing it right and doing it. You could do the horrible, immoral option, which leads to an effective result, or, you could do it right.

It's basically Johnson's take on Swift's 'A Modest Proposal. Though I wonder if he realises that Swift was engaged in savage satire. Does Boris actually see it as a practical solution? :)

We finally got a natural burial cemetary in my area! I chose the spot a few months ago. It’s beautiful - right beneath an oak tree and overlooking an undeveloped valley. I’ll be rolled in an organic bamboo blanket and trundled into a 4’ (1.2m) deep, hand-dug hole. It’s a bit inland, hotter there than living me likes - I’m a coast baby, love the rain and fog - but the heat won’t bother me! I look forward to becoming a tree.

I hate to say it but Boris is right in terms of stopping cows from burping, convincing isn't the right word though, it's just adding a supplement to their feed diet so they have enough oxygen to convert the methane to carbon dioxide (and water) which is many times less effective as a greenhouse gas per molecule. Realistically though, fossil fuels are the reason we're in this mess, especially when solar and wind are now a much cheaper source of electricity.

@@ebbhead20 You should try living in my country - +30° all year round (you get used to it)
@moth57992 жыл бұрын
@@davel9514 It's not that, houses are designed around the climate. In britain or other parts of northern europe, houses have good insulation, double or triple glazed windows, etc, which means they're also much warmer in the summer when it does get hot. If you live in a hot area like southern europe or australia then the houses are designed more with the heat in mind, which makes the heat more manageable. There is some body adaptation to the heat, but there's more to it than that.

@@davel9514 thing is, i think it's hard to deal with less some places because of humidity. So in some place you can take 30° celsius without a problem. But even in denmark I've had around 30 or more sometimes. But i happen to be in a costal area, or actually on a beach. That makes it fine. You need to be in the right place. This seem like the wrong place a lot of the times... 😎
