@천사 Hang on! When I was a teenager I was concerned about pollution. We didn't know about global warming, though scientists had predicted it as far back as 1912, but the media never reported it, it wasn't a "sexy" topic. Dramas like Doomwatch on BBC TV warned about the dangers facing the environment, back in the 70's. Many of us DID care. In 1971, Greenpeace was founded. In 1972/3 the Green Party was formed (as the People Party, then the Ecology Party, then the Green Party). I'm 66. Still working to persuade people of the dangers facing us. Don't write us off, or dismiss us. We're on your side

It was the herd instinct. Nothing to do with him not comprehending the words honesty, decency or integrity. Nothing to do with the tens of thousands who died through Covid, nothing to do with Partygate; Boris Johnson toasting his colleagues partying in no.10 whilst people round the country died alone as their family members were forbidden from leaving their homes, then lying about attending parties, nothing to do with wallpapergate; expecting the tax payer to fund a £100k refurbishment for a 3 year occupancy, then lying about it, then getting a friend to pay for it (no strings attached, yet right!), nothing to do with Owen Patterson; looking after the boys no matter how many parliamentary standards were broken, nothing to do with Chris Pincher - Pincher by name, Pincher by nature. @@flowerpower3082 It’s the cycle of how it would go, he would be accused of something, he would deny it, he would have his cabinet defend it and THEN a few months later evidence would come out to prove it, and Boris would admit it, leaving his cabinet as liars. Y'know, cows do burp a lot. Enough to, along with all other livestock across the agricultural sector, propose a considerable threat to the planet. Cutting down on farming such livestock and/or feeding the remainder certain food can decrease their impact on climate change. That being said, the use of fossil fuels contributes several times more than the entire agricultural sector.

nah i like me my burgers and steak and pork and chicken. im not cutting down or changing my diet when climate change is actually good for canada, it makes us warmer, gives us more fertile soil in our north to farm, and it will improve the climate in canada making us similair to france or britain in terms of weather which also means a fine Candian wine is the future.

@@Sigart no but it does mean that the average temp will rise, which will change the eco systems from frozen tundras to lush forests, and our boreal forests will remain as normal, due to the less intensive winters, it also means that alot of wild life will change habits and instead of flying to the equator which will be barren waste lands in the future should climate change continue, they will fly into a much warmer and temperate canada. so to conclude, yes infact climate change does mean that canada will get if not continental eurpean climates, we will def get the climate of virginia or delaware. meanwhile America will flounder and americans will move to canada.

You laugh about the cows burping methane thing, yet a study done a few years back at UC Davis concluded, inclusion of seaweed in cattle feed can reduce bovine methane emissions by up to 70%. Sweet talking Bessie will accomplish nothing, but giving her some kelp will help.

I feel like I’ve said before, that “feeding some humans to animals” is actually a valid idea. It’s basically just “Culling our population” to a more sustainable number, with the added benefit of providing food to animals. Not that they’d need it really, it’d probably be better if we, say, created a big pit, and dumped the corpses into it, creating a human fed fertilizer dump. Then used that to help provide nutrients to soil which we have messed up severely. Ooh, even better, that thing where your corpse feeds a tree! Just kill off 30% of the population, and make them into those! That’d help probably. Less humans, less fucking up the planet. I’m MOSTLY joking. Although it would probably help if there were less people.

@@mayfriend2959 It’s not Eco Terrorism if the governments of the world employ it as a plan to combat humanities detrimental effects on the earth. Nothing counts as terrorism if the people in power say it isn’t. It’s still a joke of course, but not a single person can say it wouldn’t work. It’s like the difference between doing it right and doing it. You could do the horrible, immoral option, which leads to an effective result, or, you could do it right.

We finally got a natural burial cemetary in my area! I chose the spot a few months ago. It’s beautiful - right beneath an oak tree and overlooking an undeveloped valley. I’ll be rolled in an organic bamboo blanket and trundled into a 4’ (1.2m) deep, hand-dug hole. It’s a bit inland, hotter there than living me likes - I’m a coast baby, love the rain and fog - but the heat won’t bother me! I look forward to becoming a tree.

I hate to say it but Boris is right in terms of stopping cows from burping, convincing isn't the right word though, it's just adding a supplement to their feed diet so they have enough oxygen to convert the methane to carbon dioxide (and water) which is many times less effective as a greenhouse gas per molecule. Realistically though, fossil fuels are the reason we're in this mess, especially when solar and wind are now a much cheaper source of electricity.

@@davel9514 It's not that, houses are designed around the climate. In britain or other parts of northern europe, houses have good insulation, double or triple glazed windows, etc, which means they're also much warmer in the summer when it does get hot. If you live in a hot area like southern europe or australia then the houses are designed more with the heat in mind, which makes the heat more manageable. There is some body adaptation to the heat, but there's more to it than that.

@@davel9514 thing is, i think it's hard to deal with less some places because of humidity. So in some place you can take 30° celsius without a problem. But even in denmark I've had around 30 or more sometimes. But i happen to be in a costal area, or actually on a beach. That makes it fine. You need to be in the right place.
