I paused the video and just literally looked at Lenin’s body while thinking “That’s literally Lenin right there. Sure not entirely as he once was but still. That’s the man who changed history sitting right in front of my eyes who died like 100 years ago.” Regardless of politics, that’s just fascinating.

@@alexanderhamilton8971 I guess I’ll have to disagree with your disagreement. Lenin built the foundation for Russia to become a superpower within just 2 decades, sure he was harsh sometimes, but he had to be to keep the country from falling apart or going back into the bloody civil war that had only recently ended and this proved wise as Russia needed as much time as it could get to build up as they had to defend themselves from the Nazis.

Berthold Brecht was a Communist worm whose claim to fame is a musical "The Three Penny Opera" (Dreigroschen Opera) with it's best known song Mack The Knife (Mackie Messer). A German Jew, Brecht was given asylum from the Nazis by the United States. He chose America over the Soviet Union that also offered asylum. As soon as he got to the U.S. Brecht began agitating to turn America into a Communist dictatorship, the same kind of B.S. he ran for his life to escape from. Go figure.

If you believed that you could eradicate poverty and injustice forever how many people would you kill? Lenin is a divisive figure, some think he was a tyrant and a dictator, others thing he was a champion of women's and workers rights. One thing no one can deny is that he's one of the world's most important historical figures

To be honest, nobody cares what you think about the Soviet Union or the communism itself. That's not the point. Why can't we all just appreciate the patriotism of Russia and the love that people got for their history? The way they conserved Lenin's body for one hundred years it's a completely work of art. All about Lenin, Stalin... The proud and respect for those men it's not about the Revolution or something, but the history they had bring to their motherland. I wish it was like that in my country. Everyone here is so ashamed of their old leaders that they only want to cover it, and so I do.

Lenin just long ago became a real symbol of the past of Russia, with which many associate Russia itself. And just like that, no one can take it, bury it, and demolish the mausoleum. The mausoleum receives hundreds of thousands of people a year. And how much did a person take in all the time of his existence, can you imagine? And besides, it is a kind of monument to the history and culture of Russia :)
