The Russian made the mistake to trust boeing and airbus too much and neglect their own aeroplane industry for too long ,however they where smart enough to keep it on the low burner and not abandon it completely, so they can reactivate the tu 214/204 very easy and relatively fast,and work on the MC 21 as a vey modern replacement with competitive engines( PD 14 family) that sooner or later find its way to tupolev and composit wings and modern Avionics .

To become a successful outside Russia, TU 214 has to have two pilot cockpits and better engines like PD14

Me: Aren't you guys worried that you might loose the Russian market and possibly the Chinese market? Both are huge markets. Airbus: Hmm... I'm not worried. How about you Boeing? Boeing: Hey I just lost a door during a flight do I look worried?
@hassanoaikhenan642910 ай бұрын
The issue is not so much that of whether or not Boeing or Airbus should be worried but that Russia has come to the realization of the need to look inwards and strive to move on in spite of, rather than because of western-owned Boeing and Airbus. It's a patriotic move that Russia needs to drive to fruition as it could attract patronage from airlines around the world. Not a few enthusiasts are eager to see the moves by China and Russia break the age-long duopoly of Boeing and Airbus in the aviation industry!

A production volume comparable to the SU57 and armarta tank won’t frighten airbus. Boeing on the other hand might want to ask the Russians for lessons on quality control 🙄

Hair2050 - Airbus has supply problems, particularly titanium, and other materials supplied by Russia. Point taken about Boeing, wonder if they will survive another decade.

If Tu-214 production reaches Su-57 levels I will be pleasantly surprised.

I don't see any justification for making a cargo variant of the Tu214. This aircraft should remain a commercial passenger aircraft only. However, if there is a need for a cargo carrier, the Iluyshin 4 engine plane can serve that purpose. Cargo aircrafts don't care much about fuel efficient engines..😀👍

Certification in Europe and USA will be impossible, just as the C919

There were a lot of complaints about the Superjet 100 by Sukhoi. This might have the same issues. But Russia and before that the Soviet Union had plenty of time to work on a propper, competing aircraft industry.
@neilpickup23710 ай бұрын
Difficult one. In theory, if they got rhe design right it could be a great success, however until Russia is considered to be a fully participating and stable member of the International Community, there is always the risk that the sanctions causing Russia so much of a problem with their Airbus and Boeing aircraft could quite easily be applied the other way. I doubt if that stability and confidence will be fully reached during the life of this aircraft model. You also have an airspace issue. International operations from Russia could need to weave around sanctioned airspace, or possibly be unable to fly to friendly countries because of a lack if suitable unrestricted aiirspace. On the other hand for those prevented from entering Russian Airspace, they only need to make a detour around it.

The TU 214 is been restarted as Russia wants to replace its now defunct surveillance aircraft which have almost completely defunct due to its defeat in the ukraine. most will use traditional instruments and engines from European manufacturers maintained outside sanctions countries on the second hand market. Some will be registered in china to avoid sanctions.

Since Russia has examples of the Rolls RB211 fitted to some Tu204s why don't they reverse engineer some i.e copy. The triple shaft design is better than anything they can do themselves.

Well , without access to modern tech /parts from the West those planes only would find a use in Russia . And their flight safety records have to be seen , Russians civil Aircrafts like the TU 154 are not known for their reliability and safety records ... , on Place one for the most unsecure Air Lines in the World is Utair , former Aeroflot , Russia There will be more delays , if you look at the Armata , the new Russian Main Battle Tank , it should be mass produced since Years ( 2016 ) and still there are still only a few one with mass Produktion delayed to 2024 ....

You don't have to think that Russians are sitting around doing nothing. They are lagging behind in some ways, but this is 10 years in some ways. And with such technologies, it is already possible to create modern and reliable aircraft. And as for the Armata tank, it seems that the military had doubts about its necessity even earlier, and now even more so. Tanks today show low survivability on the battlefield, regardless of the country of origin.

The main drawback of soviet airliners was high maintenance costs and short life engines,otherwise they performed quite well.

“With the empty cofers , lack of employees and the smart people abroad” You are just being funny! Right??? “I don't see any worries for Boeing or Airbus” Here, you are probably right, as long as US/EU keep the hegemonic status and in charge of the world affaires any competitor to any large US/EU corporations will be eliminated. Do you remember Huawei, taking number one spot in the world in 2018/19/20 and immediately got sanctioned for (threat to US Nati. Secu.) absolutely no fckng reason and two years after Huawei was not even in the top 10 while Apple and Samsung crawled to number one and two position or MC-21 project, MC-21 was an extraordinary plane design and made up of 50:50 Russian and Western parts but killed by US/EU unfair sanctions for being direct competitor for 737 MAX and Airbus A320 family, the greed of US/EU corporations and politicians is just beyond comprehensible but its all coming to an end, multipolar world is on our doorsteps. US/EU will not be able to defend their hegemonic power in Ukraine. Just 20 years from now Boeing and Airbus and many others who kept killing their competitors should be worried because their backing will be powerless

You talking about empty coffers, russia has been raking in bountiful amounts of money from her oil and gas exports to alternative markets despite the sanctions enforced by the west. So that issue does not exist. That's why the video claims more funds have been allocated to ramp up production which means more workers will be employed to do just that.
