It is OK to be ambitious. However, one must also needs to know one's limitations. Zelensky wants to be part of NATO, thinking that once it is in, its security is guaranteed. But the existing European NATO members knew that it is not as simple as Zelensky envisaged. European nations have to weigh up their own national interests against the collateral damages which come with helping Ukraine. And what are the collateral damages? The economic disruptions from abrupt disconnection from Russia oil and gas is just one part of it. Russia also supply fertilizers and grains to Europe. A messed up market will mean major disruptions to Europe's food and agriculture. There are many more. So would Europe be prepared to sacrifice so much just to prove to Ukraine that it is a loyal friend? I doubt it. I believe that the visit by the three NATO countries was carrying a message to Ukraine that as much as NATO wants to help Ukraine, the harms caused by further war in Ukraine are way too much for NATO/Europe to bear. That I think is why Zelensky shifted a couple of gears down, and now admitted that to join NATO is but a pipe dream. It would have been better if the woke up to this reality, and potentially saved many lives in the process.

They want to weaken Russia and test their weapons, in the process USA military Arms industries make huge profit by selling arms. 2.
