Mine is glued to me. Follows me everywhere. Very strong willed and active. Wakes me up at 430am and again at 730am. Not shy at all and loves to explore outdoors even on a harness. Loves to climb trees but isn’t a big jumper. She’s very sweet and never growled or scratched me.

😂😂😂😂😂This is sooo true. Cat have us trained definitely. I have a bengal 17 yrs he is. Hes vocal too. Makes sounds u never even knew a cat could make seriously. He does this howling at the top of stairs to let everyone know who is the king of the house. Just like a lion does when he's doing that roar over & over only nt a roar obviously lol bt its definitely not a normal cat sound. So embarrassing when he has to go the vets because he hates it and doesn't let anyone forget it even for a 2nd🙈😂😂 Wasn't slightest bit bothered by our rottie or heeler lol. Nobody messes with our Leo 😂😂😂😂 Only thing is he does it at whatever time he feels like.

My old Russian blue JoJo was the best of homies. We got him from a guy who was moving and JoJo was already an indoor outdoor cat. He figured out how to open the doors to get out and he’d go full punisher on any animal in sight and then be the cudly homie we got used to. He was big and beautiful.

I had a Russian Blue for 19 years. She was an incredibly smart and skilled hunter in her prime. She would fake a limp outside to lure bluejays in, then snatch them out of the air when they would dive bomb her thinking she was an easy target to pick on. She also would wake me up almost every morning at the same time for her breakfast.

Our Russian blue is an extravert. If someone comes to visit, he demands their attention. I even walk my cat using a harness, and if someone is walking by across the street, he wants to see them. Especially if the person is walking a dog. He wants to say hi. He’s a special cat. Super loving and alot of fun.

We have two Russian blue cats. They are an amazing breed. My partner always loved cats but could never get really near them because he is so allergic. But with these - no problems anymore! (please keep in mind that this can be different for every person, we "test-cuddled" multiple times bevore adoption) They are so smart and love to learn tricks. Even our vet loves them because they are very well behaved and would never ever bite or scratch him. But when it comes to guests.... Even if it is just the pizza delivery guy, both of the cats hide for 20 min. Once we searched for an hour until we found them again.

I did not want another cat, but am I glad I caved in and accepted him! My Russian Blue has grown big, he is self-sufficient and amuses himself mostly, but really likes his scratching post the best. In addition, he also likes to shoot the breeze in his own back yard but I must be careful as he would love to bound over the fence and I might lose him - this breed likes to wander!!! I told my daughter that he is the most easy going cat I have ever owned and he is. Recently I was seriously ill, all alone with my cats. Harry didn't leave my side, not once being fully aware of the situation and snuggling his head against mine giving me little licky kisses across my head as if I was his kitten!♥️😻 What can I add to that - other than Russian Blues are the best cat you can get as a pet. ♥️

Your video gives some true facts about Russian Blue. My female Russian Blue cat was from early on very determined to sleep between my legs under the duvet (at least for the first third of the night). This can be a little annoying, but...she still does love that. I read that this habit seems to be typical for Russian Blues. I can also agree that they are very demanding, when thy want something. She often wants to be brushed/petted just when I am preparing dinner. Than she sits next to me on the floor and meows with her soft but forcefully voice until i follow her into the living room, where her brush is located...

Spot on for both of the Russian Blues I've lived with. Ill add that they both were always there when I was in the bathroom whether I was bathing or taking care of other needs. They both shared the bad habit of licking/ chewing on nasty things in the garbage or dark corners of the basement. I have an adopted Russian Blue I named Bootstrap. He was 7 years old at the time of adoption and will be turning 9 this Christmas. On his papers, he is listed as DSH, but I know he is a pure bred, and he was promoted, so I was able to get him for free. He is very conversational and meows constantly, but it's not a regular meow he goes "ow". He loves to follow me around and seems to be a one person cat because he only goes to my husband when he's cooking dinner. 😂 He is also a guardian angel. The maintenance man had to come in a few days ago to check the pipes in our bathroom, and I was napping when he came in to work. Bootstrap woke me up by standing next to me, staring the bedroom door down while growling and making warning howls until the maintenance man left. As an asthmatic and severe allergist, Bootstrap doesn't cause me to sneeze or flare, so the fact about them being allergy and asthma friendly is true. I definitely plan to stick with the Russian Blue breed for the rest of my life, but I am also a big fan of orange tabbies, black, tortie, and calico cats too.

OMG (gosh), We had a cat that was dumped off at our house last April, she was pregnant so we assume that is why the original owner abandoned her, poor thing. I just found out that she is a Russian Blue, and she is one through and through, personality and all. My wife is usually the cat person, not that I don't like cats, they just usually attach to her. My little Smokie, that is what I named her, took to me right off and has been mine ever since. She had 5 healthy kittens of which we found furever homes for all of them and they are loved and well taken care of. As for Smokie, she is still here and is a lovely addition to our home. She has finally gotten used to our other two cats and plays with them just fine... unless she is in one of her leave me alone moods and isolates to herself. Her distinctive coat is absolutely striking, and yes her fur is just like you described in the video. However, what captures you are her beautiful eyes, they just suck you in, they are gorgeous. And yes, they love their routine, she gets up right before I do now to where I don't really have to set my alarm, and she always lets me know it is time for bed, which creates a problem on the weekends, she is not a sleep in kind of cat, she's ready to get up for the day, get fed, and play. The thing about Russian Blues being punctual is very true. Every evening about 10 pm my cat gets very talkative and anxious unless I retire to bed then he quiets down and joins me. I suppose in a Russian Blue's mind 10pm is Cat Bedtime ergo they think everyone else must sleep too at or around then

If allowed he will sit on the kitchen table with me and the guest to cuddle and talk.:) s as be luckily he doesnt wake me up at the same time every day anymore. Russian blues are known to enjoy space travel. In the United Kingdom in 1987, a trio of cats named Chad, Megosh and Wankel Rotary-Engine built and operated the world's first cat-designed and crewed space vessel, reaching upper orbit on April 28th, 1987. After that initial successful launch, the team went on to recruit other cats to join their rapidly expanding space-mission team. Unfortunately, the majority of other cats were too busy sleeping, napping, lying in doorway or across hallways, eating and hissing at anyone wanting to give them a flea or worming treatment. I'm thinking about getting a Russian Blue because I love cats. However I am very allergic to cats and I don't like fur shedding all over the place. My particular question is I don't want to get a cat breed that demands to sit on my lap and hang all over me all over me and therefore shed and make me sneeze. I was thinking of getting a male cat for this purpose (Russian Blue), because I am under the impression from watching wild Lion animal shows that demonstrate that male Lions don't even like to be touched, and they sort of lay by themselves - which would be a good trait for the kind of cat I want. I've found that my male cats are much more snuggly than my female cats. That said, I've only had one Russian Blue - she's just passed the one year old mark. She wants some snuggles, but not all the time. What she does demand a lot of is attention. She wants to play, and her games evolve. Fetch, hide and seek, tag, find-the-toy, "flying" around in a box or her carrier (seriously, and we're in trouble if we do it wrong, including making the right noises...). She's more like a human toddler than any cat I've ever had, with the only differences being that she can climb and leap, doesn't have actual words, and does have periods where she wants to be on her own.

Hi Douglas, I just got a Russian blue. I understand it’s different for everyone and every cat is different but I found that my Russian Blue is very affectionate. She loves sitting on my lap, licking and head butting. I’m also allergic to cats. I found that I had allergies at the start but over time my allergy symptoms have reduced a lot. I hope this helps 😌

My Russian blue (8yo fixed male) is very affectionate, loves when I hold him and will occasionally sit on my lap but absolutely demands that I spoon him when it’s time for bed. It’s very common to hurt a Russian blues feelings if they feel rejected or like they don’t get the attention they deserve.

You can have mind, LOL! He's a beautiful pure breed, awesome personality, lovable, affectionate, playful, athletic, intelligent, very content when left at home for the day, does like to get into cupboards and I know that when I get a harness he will enjoy taking walks outside. But he keeps me awake from 4 am until I get up even if I feed him and cuddle with him after breakfast. He won't stop meowing until I get out of bed and start my day!

Russian blue are from the port arcángel russia they also have doble coat and the first is soft like wool and feel so warm then on top they have their hair. The cross between Russian blue and a ziamess gave the origen to blue point ziamess. The sailers brought the first Rusian blue to Queen victoria and then they crossed a siamess with the russian blue to create the blue point ziamess because the malasyan king did not want to give them a couple of siamess.

I disagree. I have two Russian Blue cats and they never bite or scratch anything. They have easily adapted my lifestyle and love living in my apartment, which is quite small.

@@BritishShorthairCatVenomFilip - Mine is super sweet. He would never bite. The most he's ever done is touch his teeth to my foot when I nearly step on him and he's always been good at the vet. But he is as the video describes personality wise. I've been watching a ton of these videos today. I thought the cat I rescued 4 years ago was just a super intelligent lunatic, but he's a typical Russian Blue! I live in an apartment and its been fine.... but he did require his own cat though, because he requires so much attention, distraction and entertainment. My 10 year old cat and I couldn't handle him alone! I don't think they'd be good cats for first time cat owners though. He was part of a litter of 7, I always wondered what everyone else got when they got home.... but now I realize, we all got pretty typical Russian Blues. They were at the local SPCA and were a feral litter. I have ordered a DNA kit for him because I have to know now how much his percentage is. He physically and personality wise fits everything mentioned.

Mine doesn't bite a lot. She did as a kitten - like most babies, but stopped when given something else to do. She is demanding, and I wonder if a bored Russian Blue would maybe have worse behavior? They're very bright, and curious, and they remind me a little bit of border collies in that they have to have something to do, or they'll make up something to do - and if they make it up themselves, you might not like what they do. I'd say if your RB is biting a lot, there's something they need that they're not getting. More attention, training, someone to play with - something. Happy RBs shouldn't act like that.

i have a woman who lives with a russian blue and he comes to me when i don't even call him...I HATE animals of any kind but this cat he sneaks up on my and just does figure 8s around my legs and i can't resist to pet him...one night i stay at her place and that cat laid next to me... and my girl told me he doesn't do that with anyone...HE LAID next to ME!!!!!! i hate animals and he laid next to me...i love that cat.....i hate animals...dogs......cats...anything that not contained into a cage...but i love that cat. Even a animal hate can love an animal...i love that cat!!!!
