We have a problem with kids bouncing off the walls due to sugar intake. Even two hundred years ago Americans were very addicted to sugar and it was noted in period writings. The standing joke is when that Grandparents gives the grandkids lots of sweets to get revenge on their kids.....

I love eating ice cream when I'm in France. Many more natural flavors, such as pear, mandarin, (strong) coffee, blueberry, blackberry, black current, coconut, lemon, and my favorite licorice - all of them very flavorful and with much less sugar than US counterparts. Did not find beef jerky as such but what we came to call "dry meat", sort of dry deli meats and different kind of dry sausages. Expensive but delicious. Best chocolate? Belgian. Can't compare Hersey bars to such delicate heavenly smoothness and flavor as chocolates from Belgium.

American food in general is very unhealthy. With that and the lack of exercise/movement, the future welfare of the population is bleak. The politicians only go to Washington to fatten their wallets, getting kick backs from all these different industries they are supposed to regulate and from which they are supposed to guard the population. All that sweet stuff he ate is disgustingly sweet. The shortbread is not but does contain butter, which is still better than oils such as palm oil among others. It actually is Scottish, I believe. Much tastier than all these American brands.

I can't believe I just spent almost 50 minutes watching you eat food. That said I had a blast getting to share in your experience. Yeah we go nuts with salt and sugar in America. Watching your reaction really drove home the amounts we consume. Then you held up the Captain Crunch...oh my god! Among all our heavily sugared foods Captain Crunch has become an actual punch line for the amount of sugar in it. Great video wish you'd had a larger selection of non-sugared treats (we do have a few). Great fun thanks so much for this. I do like the Bigfoot shirt.

American sugar comes from sugar cane (тростник) vs Russian sugar is made mostly from sugar beets (свекла). It makes a huge difference in the taste of sugar and that’s why average Coke or chocolate made in Russia will feel like a diet or artificial sugar version of American candies. It’s truly amazing how one chemical substance can make such a difference.

Great videos, I just found your channel! I see you are trying what us Americans call "junk food", and not what I feed my family on a normal basis, and I cook more from scratch to avoid the high salt and sugar content. The jerky that we eat is home made by my friends that are hunters, and not like what you tried in this video. You'll see these kinds of snacks at parties. I see these products in a lot of other peoples shopping carts but you won't see them in mine! Your English is great, by the way! Thanks for the video 😃

It's honestly cool to see someone try everyday/childhood foods that I'm so used to and explain the taste differences to their country's brands and whatnot. Made me realize how much stuff we put in our food. Especially criticizing it cause there's so much I avoid now after growing up than when I was younger Understand the feedback on the sweets especially. I can hardly stand eating most candies anymore because they're just drowned in sugar. Hershey's is the only chocolate I'd willingly buy, but even then only every so often lol It was super cool to learn about the beef jerky differences in the two countries too, I remember being sorta "ehh" about beef jerky when I first had it, but now love getting the stuff. Had to get a bit used to it, now I can't have the original flavors, not as good The Mac and cheese was fun to watch too, really made me think about childhood stuff. Used to have Kraft Mac and Cheese weekly, almost always with hotdogs. Now I'd prefer it with smoked sausage though, still love the stuff but I add to it. Salt included. Got to admit, I'm a huge fan of salty food haha That was awesome to watch though! Makes me wanna try Russian foods

I can't believe no one sent you Sour Cream & Onion Pringles. That is the #1 best flavor of Pringles. Also, yes the sweet snacks here in the USA are very very sugary. I would say I enjoy sugar more than most people, but I can feel how grainy a snack is from all the sugar in it. It is a shame that all the sugar overwhelms the flavors of peanut butter and cocoa, etc. I wouldn't mind a little less sugar in general in our food. I went to Germany with a few classmates in college and we filled an entire duffle bag with 40 pounds of chocolate to bring home because they had a better cocoa to sugar ratio.

Fun video! The brand Kraft is classic in the USA, especially the original kind (the one you assumed was for kids). I even would prefer to buy that brand than a generic brand. It’s funny that you thought of putting meat in the Pasta Roni! When I was younger and had no money, I would cook Pasta Roni and add a can of tuna or chicken. It’s not bad. Sometimes I would also put in peas or broccoli to make it “healthy”. It is also common to put cut up hot dogs in mac and cheese.
@Cairol58

Here in Europe the brand Kraft is also very popular, in particular the pasta which is labelled "Miracoli" and basically is a "quick and dirty" version but still tasty Spaghetti or Makkaroni alla Napoletana from a food factory. I always got some in the house for when I don't fancy cooking proper pasta. Unfortunately since 2019 Kraft are cheating on their customers by no longer adding the very tasty spice mix and reducing the tomato sauce concentrate to half the amount in the pack but raising the prices which is sad ....

I'm an American and I can't handle the sweetness of a lot of things. I'd rather eat cake without the frosting, for example. The most outrageous is Starbucks coffee which would just destroy my stomach and give me the shakes. It's just candy for adults. Completely defeats the purpose of the caffeine and taste of coffee. I mean you're dealing with over 50grams of sugar. You're drinking sugar. I'd rather chew on candy because at least I can take the sugar in at a slower pace. It's just so unnecessary. Our cereals are "balanced breakfasts" and they're basically candy too! BUT, chocolate peanut butter cups or Butterfingers are perfection. Just gotta have that milk on hand. When I was a kid, my favorite thing was this red, coaster-sized peanut brittle. I just can't remember what it was called, chewy peanut-filled peanut brittle.

Interesting to see the differences in flavor of similar products in Russia vs the USA. I also experienced something similar at the 'Inside Coca Cola' in Atlanta. This is the museum at the headquarters of Coca Cola. There you could taste the Coca Cola products, as they are produced for different markets. I tasted the very sweet version for the US market, then tried the European version, with much less sugar. Then finally the version for China, and there was hardly any sugar at all. Interesting to try these right after each other. Great video Zangieff. I hope you could sleep after eating all that food so late at night.

You didn’t try Lay’s potato chips, very popular in America. Corky’s barbecue sauce is very good too, as are a lot of barbecue sauces made in the Southern part of the U.S. Beef jerky is more of a man thing. I have never tried it. Yes, most of those things are not good for you and are very sweet. Everything needs to be eaten in moderation. Reese’s are my favorite but I might eat them maybe twice a year. Your take on all of this stuff was very interesting.

Normally pringles are not broken and not that settled. Probably rough shipping.

Hello My Friend. If you look at the US,. Many states can get quite hot in the summer, and depending on your job if you work outside and you sweat your ass off. You want to drink alot of water and at times take salt tablets. So I think Americans do eat alot of salt. Stay safe my friend.

About your Pringles missing a finger's worth of chips, it appears that the chips have settled in the package. Rather than being stacked one over the other, the chips have rearranged in a sideways arrangement and some have become broken. When I open a pack of Pringles in the U.S., the chips are neatly positioned flatly one over the other in a column filling to the top of the container. Your Pringles most likely re-positioned during long-distance shipping. As far as eating a "whole pack" of Pringles as you mentioned, I would never do that. And I nevertheless enjoy Pringles.

Honesty, I’ve had Russian sweets before imported, there good in there own way IMHO, the sweetness is muted but that’s not bad, as I live in the northeast, Southern New Hampshire about an hour and a half north of Boston, sweetness in items tends to be a little more muted compared to other parts of the US as we have a lot of Irish, German and some Russian immigrants we focus more on savoury than sweet so Russian Items that I have had actually aren’t too much different compared to the items we have where I am! Great video you have an extra sub, I love you’re vids keep up the amazing work! Side note, Boston beers as well as beers from the rest of New England are way way better than other beers from other parts of the country, Samuel Adams is a Great Example, it’s more like Irish or German Beer than anything else, you should review it if you can get you’re hands on it, you won’t regret it!

@Sergey Shiryak That is Certainly true, the northern states sweets tend to be more muted then the south, especially Places with Central, Eastern European and Russian Minorities such as New York, the northern Midwest and Alaska which has a very substantial Russian Minority, very different to places like Hawaii which use a lot of Sugar and Cacao, the demeanour of a lot of the northern states tends to be colder than people in the southern or tropical areas of the country as well BTW you’re English isn’t to shabby, wish I could say the same about my Russian LMAO, but there is an implied stigma here about speaking Russian, seems like that Cold War paranoia never went away and has in fact grown over the past few years, which is a real shame IMHO

I have to agree with you about the sugar content of US candies. Way too much! One thing I have noticed is that the trend here is more to dark chocolate because of milk chocolate's sugar content. You get more of the flavor of chocolate as opposed to the sugary content. A lot of US foods, especially sauces, has sugar in it. Ketchup here has a considerable amount of sugar. Have you done a comparison of US coffee and Russian coffee? If you need some help with that, I may be able to help with that. Thanks for your honest opinion, that provides more insight into US foods!

I found your reaction to the sweet desserts interesting : the Oreos, etc. It's obvious that Russian tastes are not accustomed to SUGAR. I'm not a fan of overly sweet products, which is good for me, because I will be satisfied with a small amount - only enjoy a small amount.

Walkers are okay. Shortbread is famous in Scotland. You would have one of them to nibble with a cup of coffee. They have real butter in them instead of a mix of oils and probably if you read the ingredients there will just be flour butter sugar and baking powder. Of all the things you tasted the only ones I would ever eat the odd time is Pringles - sour cream and onion flavour, and just one piece of shortbread if given it in someone else's house. Chocolate I only buy 70% plus cocoa content with very little sugar in it. None of the other things you tasted I would ever eat. I live in Ireland.☘️

Im an American in Miami Florida growing up during the Soviet Union times and i dont recognize a lot of these foods to be honest with you so it would be a first for me. I saw Russian grocery stores and i think you have a really great selection of things coming from many regions. Maybe our food is larger packages i think because people eat much more.

The feeling you were getting from the sugary sweets is, what we call, a sugar high. You basically feel so wired from having too much sugar and usually makes you sleepy afterwards 😴 I hope more US friends send you more snacks to try. We have even stranger Pringles flavors like: dill pickle, pizza, loaded baked potatoe, ranch...

I’ve read studies where parents were told their children were fed sugary snacks and they described their kids as hyper, excitable and out of control. The kids had actually had fresh veggies for their snack. Other parents were told their kids had healthy snacks and parents described them as well behaved and calm. The second group had been fed sugary snacks. The concept of a sugar high is only a couple decades old - we didn’t have the concept when I was a kid. We would eat a ton of candy on Halloween then go to bed and get up for school the next day. No big deal. “Sugar high” is fake. You can convince yourself of it but it’s only real in your head

@@valley5617 gurl what? It is real. Sugar high/sugar crash is due to a sudden increase on insulin in your body due to sugar. Your body expends a lot of energy to break down the sugar- causing you to sleep afterwards lol it's not in our heads. There's legit medical science behind it 🤣
