It really is Simon! I usually mix my own colors, but Vallejo's 4BO looks so good I decided to not try to reinvent the wheel, lol. Thanks so much for watching, take care and have a great weekend. Johnny

Hi Johnny, oh wow! Absolutely fantastic idea regarding the tow cables, stretched out ready for painting. I’m pinching that one 👍😎. I’ve never got the hang of hairspray chipping but your effect looks good so far and as you said if it’s not to your liking, paint over it 😃 nothing ventured nothing gained. Stay safe my friend, see you next Friday 👍

Hey Ian, I just have this feeling that I may have layered on the hairspray a little too thick, but we'll see what happens, lol. We can always seal it in and use sponge chipping over it. Hope your weekend is going well, I think you're at least 12 hours ahead of me. Take care and see you next Friday buddy. Johnny

Love the build so far and painting is my favorite part. I have to agree with the other commenter that your solution to painting the tow cables is a ingenious idea.

Thanks Christopher, I figure why not make things a little easier on us, LOL. I enjoy the painting to, but can never really get my head wrapped around the weathering sometimes. Thanks so much for watching, take care and have a great weekend! Johnny

Wonderful video Johnny with so many great tips. The rig up for the tow cables was simple genius and should work out well to paint and weather..The preshading added to the look and the hairspray chipping gave an excellent effect to the exhausts..This kit by Tamiya seems to help the process along..Thank you and all the best from the U.K🇬🇧🇺🇸👍

Glad you enjoyed it Paul, it is a well-engineered kit. As for the exhaust, that was a happy mistake, which seldom happens in modeling 🫨. But I'll take luck over skill every time, let's hope my luck holds out, LOL! Thanks for watching, I hope you got some modeling in this weekend my friend! Take care! Johnny

Hi Johnny, the JS-2 is looking absolutely fantastic, you have done a great job of priming/painting of the kit, I really liked you painting jig for the tow ropes, as for holding the turret or main body, I now use a 8mm/ or 5/16th nut gluec inside the turret and main body then I hold thst with a threaded rod glued into a wooden handle, this I copied from another YT modeller, best regards from Australia, Les

Hey Les, I've seen that technic for holding the model for painting, you probably think that I'm a neanderthal for not adopting it yet, lol. Maybe I'm just lazy 😁. Thanks so much for watching buddy, take care, hope you weekend has gone well! Johnny
