@isserdigan2835 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar systems use phased array antennas to electronically steer radio waves in different directions without moving the antenna. AESA radars have several advantages over older radar systems, including: Faster scanning AESA radars can scan a larger volume of space faster and more reliably than mechanically steered radars. Multiple beams AESA radars can produce multiple radar beams at different frequencies simultaneously. Electronic jamming resistance AESA radars are more resistant to electronic jamming techniques because they can change their frequency with each pulse. Independent modules Each module in an AESA radar operates independently, so a failure in one module doesn't significantly affect the system's performance. High accuracy AESA radars allow for early track formation and accurate tracking of maneuvering targets. Multifunctionality AESA radars can perform multiple functions simultaneously, such as air-to-air and air-to-ground. High bandwidth data links AESA technology can create high-bandwidth data links between aircraft and other systems. From google

@QualityCraftsmen Lies, I say, that was only during the Cold War. Russia has plenty of good vodka. Potato harvest very good this year.

Relax everybody. During the current political atmosphere, sure, such things are shocking and frustrating no doubt. These kinds of things happen more often that us folks hear about. And I would bet money our people in the air know how to deal with these. Glad they're out there. Bless em, keep em safe.

Actually one of their tactics is crashing into the enemy as a way of taking the enemy out! So its a kind of Kamikaze tactics to do specially if out of weapons and its important to stop the enemy. In this case it shows the crazy way they can provocate and what they should not do in a sharp situation. Impressed of the restraint of the american pilot that did not shoot!

He seen it escorting the bomber from miles away and they where flying together in relative proximity, dealing with such clowns it's much safer to maintain a straight trajectory rather than having two maneuvering planes that doesn't know what the other is going to do, if the F-16 pilot had just slightly moved left the dumbass would have crashed on it.

Do we have we ever done anything like this to them during peacetime? (Since after the Cuban Missile crisis.)
@otm646Ай бұрын
What do you mean by that? You mean fly in the bombers close to sovereign airspace? Or do you mean getting that close and reckless on the fighter intercept? The US gets close to Russian airspace frequently, they've been doing it ever since the Cold war. Russia does the same occasionally.
@Lost-In-BlankАй бұрын
@@otm646 Flying that close to an unfriendly aircraft. Some of the other commenters are suggesting Fox1 and Fox2, firing missiles at it. As if the wecklessness so unusual as to be grounds to risk war. I want to know if such maneuvers are part of the usual game. I know that Norad and Russia aircraft often get close enough to see each other waving. The close approach in between two aircraft SEEMED wreckless to me, as a non-pilot, but have we ever done the same thing to Russians or Chinese in the past couple of decades?
@Stef3mАй бұрын
@@Lost-In-Blank It's reckless and really stupid, a slight move to the left by the F-16 and he would have rammed on it killing himself and likely the USA pilot. I think that during the cold war both USA and USSR fighter planes performed close maneuvering on bombers but this close is beyond dumb, China lost a pilot some years ago when one of its fighter collided with a US observational plane
