I was just listening to a lady. She is from ODESSA, Ukraine. She has three brothers. One of them was drafted by the Ukrainian military and the other brother is in Russia serving in the Russian military. She said many Ethnic Russians in Ukraine have been drafted by the Ukrainian military against their will. They don't have a choice. This is just reminder about how tragic this conflict is. There many families that have members on both aides who are being forced to fight each other. I don't know how the Russian and Ukranian people will ever forgive us in the West for this war. This is a terrible terrible conflict pushed by the West and Western governments. This war is unforgivable. Shame on all our Western governments for supporting this terrible war against the people of Russia and Ukraine. I say this as a Canadian. I am profoundly ashamed by my government's policies and position on this conflict. One day we will all pay for this. God is going to punish us. For this war and for the War in Gaza.

Mariupol looks much better than it was under Azov and Porkys occupation and they were using human shields which caused a lot of the destruction. Watched a video with a volunteer at the theater he helped with bringing in sacks of what he was told were flour more he received a concussion during the explosion which came from Ukrainian side, Why the hate for Southern and Black Sea area has always been a visceral hatred for everyone in the South people is those people in the west Ukraine were bred with an visceral hatred since before the Hapsburgs even old Rome church even they helped a lot in creating the hatred. I personally like the look of Moscow, with its mix of European style city blocks, stalinist architecture and modern aspects as well. The so called "commie-block" style isn't really up my alley, which the Mariupol/DNR planners seem to largely invoke with their plans. At least there are some investments and rebuilding efforts. I hope the people like it.

I am a fan of the "commie blocks" (brutalist/modernist architecture). The new ones in Mariupol aren't like that at all. They are just simple. "Commie blocks" are not painted or painted in dull colors. The decorations are created by reliefs and details in the shape of the house. They are made with pre fabricated concrete panels and "mounted" like lego. But the best about them used to be plenty of green space outside, buildings didn't take as much terrain as possible

I am from Moscow and know this city and the Moscow Oblast(or Podmoscow'ye) very well. What you are talking about is the center, but basically Moscow also consists of “commie blocks” or their modernized variants. This is what the vast majority of Russian cities look like: a center of historical buildings and “commie blocks”

There has been long talks of building new cities in Siberia and potentially move the capital to Siberia in the far away future.
