Nah this is as close as you’re going to get. If you do this right though the other combatant will think twice before coming back. Especially if you hit them in the jaw or side of the head and shock the inner ear (or pop the eardrum) Their balance is going to be gone they will be deaf in one ear or wobbling severely. Then you follow up if you have to with the KO. He emphasizing a quick offensive strike here. This is meant to take someone out quickly or to set them up to get their block knocked off. Unlike Baki and Yanagi though you can’t remove meat with this technique😄😄 I wish you could. I’d be using that shit on fools daily 😄

Looks like a useful strike after a block. Also with the movement of the shoulders you can throw the strike in a chain of movement. Strike, pull back and attack simultaneously with the other hand with the torque you built up.

Interesting strike that I'll do some practice on. Love your philosophy of ALWAYS keeping a guard and to strike from a guard position w/o giving an opening. Speed in making the strike is more important than being slower with more of a tel' yet more power, because odds are that strike will be blocked anyway or you'll be hit before you can make that strike. Thanks.

You can use it to whip the hand at the end for a finger strike to the face. It's just how you chain it together. Try it out, it creates a pretty quick snap on the end of the strike and doesn't let the hand linger.

why all the dislikes? again bunch of fanboys with tapout t shirts that thumb down everything that isnt MMA? if you dont agree with the technique or anything thats fine. but at least show some respect to someone who is trying new things and questioning the mainstream ways. i respect such a guy much more than a cadle that does what everyone else are doing just because its what everybody doing. show some respect to new ideas and new points of view. if it wasnt for things like that the world of fighting would have never evoled.

juggernuts1000 firstly your whole judgement is because someone disliked a video. The reason it is there is because if people dislike the video then they can dislike the video. I’m an mma fighter with a heavy traditional back ground and I don’t like this video. I respect it but if I don’t like it I’m allowed to dislike it. So hold your tongue before you state your opinion and insult people.

Mma works bro it is a sport that allows almost anything. Since anything is allowed we now know what is garbage and what is not. Mma is not some fairy tail shit. The fights are real life simulations of dudes and women fuckin eachother up. This dude in this vid hasnt done bjj or kickboxing. He will reconsider whipping without movement and a solid guard. That kick after the whip? You think that conor, yoel romero and the rest of the high level fighters would see that as frightening and dangerous? Train to be prepared for properly trained killers as what Joe Rogan says. If you are hoping for a weak opponent, you might be wrong since you can hope whatever you want but if THAT dude who can low kick your ass into a world of pain has some problems with you for whatever reason, you will get fucked if you dont research your shit and most people know that but they still cant cope with the idea that you have to work hard and face reality since it is hard.
@Pramek6 жыл бұрын
First off, turn off the UFC - bro. MMA and UFC are not 'real world'. I have yet to see a knife in the real world. Joe Rogan says train to be prepared for properly trained killers - then bring out the pistols and knives and bats and multiple opponents. Research is seeing real, actual world fights - so go look at Liveleak, or Worldstar. That's where real fights happen and are filmed. MMA elements work, but feel free to check how many filmed, in the wild, in the real world knock outs happen from this style of strike - the quick sucker punch to the jaw line, or slap to the jawline is a very effective first strike. Joe Rogan's quote doesn't match the real world, unless you are MIl, LE, or a contractor so stop with all this super assassin shit. You guys always try to act like a bunch of badasses but none of you deal with knifehand chops, eye gouges, vagus nerve strikes, strikes to the brachial plexus...you don't even train groin grabs and kicks. Those are 'trained killer' strikes, not some take down to the choke out on the ground. Go check the history and the work we did for the Army Combatives School. Professionals avoid the ground, and when they do, they get positional dominance, control any weapon hands, and move to get back up off the ground. Check the history of Pramek, who we've worked with and done.
@0181spikri6 жыл бұрын
Pramek Yeah thats true bro but, having mma skills or any other martial arts experience that has been proven to be effective, is good to have as a base before you add on eye gauges and stuff. You wont become worse in those techniques if you do, it will be quite the opposite... Following dudes that are just showing stuff in videos, that are somewhat sequenced, will not be my choice of spending energy and time to learn from. A video of a street fight/cage fight or any other solid evidence of a teacher being legit, will rather cut the case. The proof has to be able to be quantified in my eyes. Getting punched is also a part of a street fight. Cardio is definitely another. Movement... I dont think that a UFC fighter is worse in kicking someone in the balls and fucking someone up than some dude on the internet. If a professional fighter wants to learn some nasty skills for a real street scenario (knives, guns etc.), he will become deadly AF.

Great to see, I think I am finally beginning to understand systema strikes a little better. I spent years doing the mainstream 'punchy-kicky stuff' only to be introduced to the concept of rapid, percussive strikes, nerve/meridian 'opening' and double striking by a very capable Jiu Jitsu warrior (if you haven't been 'double-struck' , let me just say, from personal experience, that a single powerful punch will hurt for sure, but you can 'take it' if you see it coming and are prepared, but a 'double-strike', even at half power... single punch is like getting hit with a brick, double strike is like getting hit with the entire wall!) Which brings me to my question; most of the typical systema strikes I see demonstrated appear almost effortless yet waay more effective than the perceived power would suggest,......HOWEVER, in most of those demonstrations, the 'victim' is ' touched-up' and hit numerous times before the 'serious' blow is delivered......I smell a rat!? Is there just a little bit of trickery going on? Yes, the effect is real, but it is not the result of one single strike...... in my humble opinion. I would love to hear your opinion Pramek and from the other viewers. If somebody has a reasoned argument or viewpoint, I would love to hear it, so long as it is germane (or funny). I don't pretend to be an expert but I think I have a valid question? By the way, I am also a fan of Kevin Secours, I wonder what he would think?
@Pramek6 жыл бұрын
Hello! First, thanks for the great reply. I would say, in any demonstration, especially seminar film, there is a bit of trickery, and student self-suggestion. Most students are conditioned, and even when you see videos about 'MMA master is destroyed by systema strike' you're looking at one moment in time, in a seminar, with a student who has been present for hours on end, and has been conditioned to a certain response by a) good strikes, usually to the solar plexus; b) the crowd around them who is 'feeling the effect of the master' which can create this kind of situation. In our last video series, FUNCTION, I actually hired a guy off Craiglist who was an unknown-actor so I was working with someone I've never met who had no martial art experience and wouldn't be open to reaction self-suggestion or working with me long term. It's a very eye-opening video to see the candid reactions over about 10 hours of filming for a 3 hour instructional video. The reality is that every strike, in a true combative interaction, has the capability to be dangerous if it's done right. But, there is no substitute to a good boxing education for any martial artist, from a reputable boxing school - not some MMA school, or some mystical school of punching, but a good pure boxing school where good amatuers and pros train. A good understanding of mechanics, blocks and parries, and strategy of the clinch are golden combative skills and sport skills. Combining those skills with skills like a knife hand chop or this video's whip strike only makes all of them more effective. We even say, in the video series this comes from, Combative Striking (it's 4 hours), that this is a supplement to good basic hand to hand skills, not a replacement. A vagus nerve strike is effective no matter who throws it, with foot or hand, they just have to know how to throw it. Also, Kevin and I are friends, do a little more searching, you'll find my interview with Kevin on my old podcast or go to pramekradio.com to find it. - Matt
@conmcgrath75026 жыл бұрын
@@Pramek (Matt), thank you so much...there's much to digest here and I promise to 'do a little more searching'. If I even started to refer to some of your points, I would still be typing by this time tomorrow. I would like to 'return' to you on all that you've said. The entire subject of' Martial Arts Trickery' could start me ranting but in another sense, true martial arts all involve trickery, of movement, of evasion, of intent, of the nervous systems of the body...on a very basic level, one of my favourite techniques was to throw a lead left jab (with the right hand loaded) then to throw the same jab but turn it into a lead hook, which was not classic boxing but as close to a 'systema' punch as I ever threw, with 16 oz gloves on, there were no knockouts, but it sure as fuck let the guy know that you were serious. RESPECT, I will do a little homework.. PAX VOBISCUM
@conmcgrath75026 жыл бұрын
I have done some homework and I have to thank both yourself and Kevin for being patient and understanding.... eff mee, it seems like you have been in 'my shoes' a long time ago but you moved on in a very positive way. As above (so below), I totally get 'striking the solar plexus' and conditioned response but I now get to contemplate the 'pressure test' and the many layers that you guys might genuinely be ahead of me...I hear of the spiritual components of systema...? Kevin himself said that 'he learned Systema despite systema', which I get, truly and you also are going a separate way, good luck friend. I'll have to get back on this one..... PAX VOBISCUM

I just lost an interim reply that took over an hour to write, (that's not to say it was any good). I mentioned the Yin/Yang of Karate/Systema, the Internal/External arts and in that whole 'Yin/Yang theme......'can the evolution of the martial arts, as we know them, balanced against the proliferation of modern weapons, survive? Seriously, after all that; I would say that you still have to be skillful, and trained and aware and accurate, no matter the weapon. I suppose my REAL question is this; (given the current financial incentives/mainstream karate/judo/TKW /jiu jitsu and the rise of the MMA), given that true warriors do not seek the limelight but must grow old, how is it working to find the next generation?
@Pramek11 жыл бұрын
In Russian style fisticuffs that is called a 'casting strike'. It's supposed to chain the movement together to create a whipping movement at the end and give range. There are a lot of Russian style practitioners who use that strike. It's not to say it's bad or good, I use it bare fist boxing, it's to say in a combative striking sense, where the purpose is to cause a large amount of damage in a stress situation/short period of time, while not taking damage, it's not an effective strike.
@Pramek11 жыл бұрын
The question would be is the systema strike the same as the Russian whip strike? This is the original mechanical teaching of the Russian whip strike. A variety of arts that are Russian use it. :)

Wish I knew systema earlier on..it incorporates nicely into the arts I already know. It's like a missing piece to the puzzle! And also as a drummer you know that a whipping action is much more concentrated and effective then wasting your energy with tensing up your whole body! Huh well interesting. I've seen people whip the body, and the arm, but never in the manner done at that point. It doesn't look like a pushing punch, looks more like an actual strike where most punches are pushes. I prefer the strikes that don't push cause they're typically quicker and hurt more.

love the crap talkers.... in a true fight for your life situation sure a solid punch to side of head is a game ender cuz,the guy is prolly brain dead but in a hypothetical situation where your life is not threatened, bar fight etc this is insanely effective, that slap to the side of ur head could blow out someones ear drum, throw off their balance not to mention it would just hurt form the slap alone, who ever you isnt gunna wana fight much after and you go home without killing someone... lastly if you are formally trained in any marital arts and you get in a fight with another unarmed person who is not trained and you go for a 1 hit knock out and crush someones larynx or smash their temple into their brain you're fucked.... with this whip technique, the guy is on his ass but alive.

If you look at most of the crap talkers, none have their own videos posted. That's not to say that not having a video gives you no right to post, it just means your posting most likely won't be paid attention to. So, we don't pay much attention to the crap talkers. This video is at 44K views without any 'systema' organized push, the guests on our podcast are some of the most respected in the world of martial art, we've published books being utilized by UFC schools for teaching...and they write rude messages on KZbin because they can't get a girlfriend who will tolerate them playing with swords in their Teva's. Interesting striking technique. I imagine that this is one of several strikes within the system you use, and would like to know how your system functions with close fighting. I've had this sort of technique thrown at me before, and it wasn't terribly difficult for me to counter by utilizing the momentum of the strike to unbalance my opponent and overwhelm him from that point. What did he do wrong to allow me that opportunity? I think what happened was that he did not follow up appropriately by closing the space between us and making use of close fighting, but I never got the chance to sit down and analyze it with him. Thoughts?
