@@trevorwilson3698what is monthly salary? Is 250-300$ a month. It's average monthly salary in Russia. Divide any prices by 91,4 rubel and you will get dolar prices. The real exchange ratę you will receive in bank is about 80-82 rubel for 1$. Almost all prices in Russia are than prices in Poland and they 30-50% of our salary. The average Russian eats "kaszu" (all types of porridge). The quality of products is terrible in Russia salmonella, Ecola is not rare.

The grocery store you toured, reminded me of the ones we had in the 50s and 60s in the USA. If I lived in Russia, I probably would stay in the ones you showed us that were in the bottom floors of the apartment buildings. Those small stores had everything one would need. I was surprised about the pharmacy having everything behind glass. I could see the medicines ,but not much else. One last thought, everywhere you take us is so clean and seems safe too. I certainly could feel at home in Russia.

Prices are really expensive there as average wage there is only $500 per month. But if u are an Aussie living in rußia on the Aussie monthly wage of $4000 per month... well u can live a life of luxury. Russian inflation is out of control... that's why central bank in tussia has raised interest rates to the astronomical rate of 19% !!!!

Inflation is fine. 70 cents (59 rubles) for 10 eggs - that’s not a lot. 80 rubles for a loaf of bread is not a lot. You can find loafs that cost 15 rubles (big ones that taste great!!!) and 23 rubles (half-loafs). In many bakeries it is customary to bake bread and lay them on shelves for customers to take (for free). Owners of such bakeries are always young. People who work are doing fine (no one earns 45000) Maybe someone with no education or a teenager. Grown-ups make 120K. Pensions are small. But older people remember WWII so they aren’t very demanding. If you compare it to Australia, Russia became twice as poor (one dollar costs twice as much now). Russia doesn’t mind. Less Russians travel abroad; more foreigners come to Russia. Russia sells stuff in foreign currency but pays wages in rubles. So, I don’t see any way things will change in the nearest future. It compensates in better housing and better infrastructure. By the way, Russians still pay pennies for electricity and gas. 500 rubles per month (less than 5$) both included.

It's really really expensive. 250-300$/month is average Russian salary. Not daily but monthly salary. The exchange ratę is 91,4 rubel for 1 $. This high prices must kill average Russians.

this is nonsense. There have been no such salaries in Russia for a long time, now it is 5 times higher, and besides, the costs are much lower than in the West. Therefore, the debt of Russian households is much lower than in the United States, and more than 85 percent of Russians own their own housing without encumbrance from banks, and another 50 percent have a second suburban home, dach,s.
