The footage is Maiparade 1956. It was filmed on the 1st of May 1956 with 35mm film reels, the same that modern filmmakers still use up to this very day due to its very high quality, despite the fact that it's very expensive. The film was to be released in almost every east-german cinema so that every East-German citizen would know that they now have an army to protect the state. The SED saw this propaganda film as some kind of demonstration of sovereignty to be shown to the entire population.

It was a Russian colony ruled by the German communists in the interests of Russia. 200,000 Russian soldiers were needed to suppress the German communists in power and the German population. East German March? The Yorcksche March is a Prussian march. 'It was composed by Ludwig van Beethoven in honor of the Prussian General Yorck. During Napoleon's Russian campaign of 1812, General Johann David Ludwig von Yorck had concluded an armistice near Tauroggen with the Russian army commanded by Major General Hans Karl von Diebitsch without the consent of the Prussian king. With the armistice, Prussia resigned from the forced alliance with Napoleon to join Russia. The armistice thus became a prerequisite for future wars of liberation. The Prussian-Russian alliance is obviously the reason why the East German communists have a fondness for the Yorckian March. But this preference of the communist traitors to German unity does not make the Yorcken Marsch an East German march. @@Russian_Comrade I have read your explanation. Your statement about the GDR version of the Yorck March bothers me. The march was composed by Ludwig van Beethoven in honor of the Prussian General Yorck von der Wartenburg. General Yorck had given the signal for the liberation of Germany from foreign rule with the Tauroggen Convention without the consent of the Prussian king. He acted according to the demands of the Prussian King Frederick II, the Great: "I have made you a staff officer so that you will know when not to obey." But the communists of the GDR practiced the opposite. They supported the destruction of Prussia, the partition of Germany, and the suppression of the eastern part of Germany by Soviet Russia. You are not entitled to invoke the Prussian tradition and the Yorck March. Yorck March kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIaUnZRmhJZ2pqc Prussia's Glory kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIuwg4CEiMaGjZI&start_radio=1

@adifreitag8579 Жыл бұрын
@@davidpelc The march was composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. It is his intellectual property. Even though he initially intended the march for the Bohemian Landwehr, he later dedicated it to the Prussian General von Yorck. General Yorck acted in the best Prussian tradition with the Tauroggen Convention, which terminated the forced alliance with Napoleon and agreed to cooperate with Russia. In doing so, he took a high personal risk. He acted on his own responsibility, without the consent of the Prussian king. He chose people and fatherland and against stubborn execution of orders. With his decision he initiated the liberation of Prussia, indeed all of Germany and Europe, from the French occupation. The honor belongs to him. By dedicating the march to Yorck's honor, Beethoven proved himself to be a German patriot.
