I play old gen i dc every day like 3 times cant play high pop and lose 50 percent of my fights to freezing up ive noticed shadows and trees and big bases are a big problem and shadows could be made an option and base rendering could be optimized like a 7 gb game is crazy

Unfortunately, the reason why it feels janky and not as responsive as you described is because there is a delay on old gen consoles. Not only this, but because of the poor frame rate and constant lagging/screen tears, it makes it much worse. This game is 100% worth on new gen, tho it feels very crisp, and the game runs incredibly smooth without any lag 👌 (Sorry for the paragraph)

Rust already has a 60 fps cap for ps5 but at max it can run 120 fps for ps5 but for ps4 if u have the cap on it never hits the actual 60 fps limit but mainly more of 20 to 35 fps but when vsync is turned off for ps4 it tends to stay around the 40 to 50 fps mark very rarely hitting 60fps

Not necessarily, you see, loading times isnt graphics whats so ever its actually due to the CPUs clock speed! Graphics actually heavily rely on RAM and the GPU and CPU is more of actual processing than displaying but if d11 were to mainly focus on new gen consoles sure the graphics will be better but loading times would still stay the same due to the PS5s CPU chip.

Playstation 4 consoles actually have slightly better specs than xbox one consoles playstation 4 specs arent better enough to make the ps4 withhold mid gen specs for its time compared to the xbox one so they are both considered old gen but ps4 is the better option in terms of preformance

Theres literally 0 difference between the two consoles why? Rust console edition was made for old gens and since d11 doesnt have enough money they can add only a slight sharpening affect to texture quality and thats about it but literally theres no drastic difference in graphics and none that are noticeable either. Idk where these new gen kids are getting the better graphics gigs

But the only reason next gen graphics look better is because theyre taking the old gen photos wothout the suns light on the player model and theyre taking the newgen photos in the sun which makes it look like ps5 and new gen have better graphics but its just a scheme that apperently works
