I'm very impressed Slim on the total package here building the cabinet. You are very good at planning. There's no perfect l'm sure you were surprised a time or two. Absolutely love the use of recycled materials from the cabin itself...you've given life to good materials ordinarily thrown out or burned. The value goes further as that wood aged in this environment. It's rich prefinish patina can't be purchased at a box store. The rest speaks for itself...it's really craft art which is in sync with the philosophy you weave into every video you make. Even in restoring a derelict cabin one can make multiple important statements and contributions. If one of your life's goals was to leave this world one day better than you found it....well you have shown us how one guy celebrates having a life worth living.

My Dad was a carpenter and he taught us how to make things with our hands, sometimes preserving craftsmanship and turning a board into a beautiful and functional thing is worth more than the money you may spend or save. Folks sometimes forget that re-use is even better than recycle and you did both here. Nice job on the build - I like the way you extended it to put the drawer section in. Good tip about checking the square of the cabinet, too. If you don’t need a full-sized fridge and stove some recycled RV propane units might work for you. There’s a place in NS that reconditions and sells them or they come up on Kijiji privately sometimes, too. Just a thought, you probably have that figured out already. 👍🏻

Outstanding job Slim !! I worked in the furniture industry (Thomasville Furniture Ind) 26 years making the intricate sketch face veneering. I LIKE it! It looks really good, very sturdy, practical, fit's the cabin perfectly. I especially like the narrow shelves across the top of the back splash area, perfect for all the small stuff needed in a kitchen. And....there's plenty of room for a small sink in front of the window, don't need anything more than a hot plate or induction type unit for cooking and the curtained area is perfect for a small fridge. Nicely done!

Kitchen looks great! An idea for the curtain, you could make another panel door like the cabinet doors the size of the hole, and then have it just hang using a couple hardware screws that are hooks and rings.
