@@sungukyun2608 Mil Spec Yugo AKs don't have that notch in the safety. The notched safety is either put on for export, or put on by the importer (Century Arms, for example). They are there due to the high number of US ranges that make you have the action locked back during cease fires. The welded muzzle thread protector, Tapco trigger, and Magpul mag indicate that is a US import.

You can actually get a clue as to whether to expect a round in the chamber by looking through the cocking handle channel. If the hammer it's forward, it's unlikely a round is in the chamber. Because when the hammer comes forward, the round in the chamber is fired, bolt comes back and re-cocks the hammer. Now the hammer is back (where you can't see it) until the trigger is pulled again. The only way to have a live round in the chamber with an uncocked hammer is if the round was a misfire.

My question is where do you get all these rusted guns? Do you rust them yourself? Do you soak them in vinegar and salt to rust them?

Dayum! And the barrel just popped off with some WD-40! You must have that grizzly bear strength.. I have to use a shop press to get it out (and yes, I am being Facetious... I did see it was pressed off presumably off camera)... Still a hell of a restore... great job!

I would love to know a little bit of history about each of the guns you restore in your videos. Where did you get it from? Why is it in such bad shape? etc.
@ferretdash Жыл бұрын
Doesn’t mention it because it’s pretty clear he soaks a short while in a small container filled with a corrosive chemical. If this were for instance found after 10 years discarded in the ocean the firing pin and springs wouldn’t still be in perfect condition and barrel slid right out and arm strap /magazine is covered in same yellow rust from the body of the gun (meaning smal container)

Probably evidence locker auction from a police department. Guns found in rivers aren't uncommon.

Files cut in one direction, so you push hard and pull lightly without touching what you're working on, this will make your work faster and will make files last much longer

A lot of these guys will using methods to accelerate deterioration... they'll make them rust, dirty them up, etc. Consider this: that magazine was first introduced in 2014. This isn't some cold war relic found in Siberia 😆
