Practicing this exercise will transform your guitar playing! We will play lead fills around the D-C-G major chords. This is an intermediate lead guitar lesson. From the root note, we can slide up to the major 3rd and land on a triad shape of each chord. Everything connects on the fretboard. If you love that sweet major sound, this guitar lesson is for you. Playing rhythm guitar is good. Playing lead guitar is good. But playing Rhythm and Lead guitar together is great!!!
0:00 Transform your guitar playing intro.
0:56 Creating a groove using the root note of each chord.
3:11 Sliding up to the major 3rd of each chord.
4: 28 Adding triads to help create movement around the chords.
9:29 Using all of todays concepts.
11:38 This exercise will transform your guitar playing!!!

Rusty great vid- I’m a “new” 60-something sub. Getting back into playing a bit after a 30 yr hiatus😅. Question- what exactly is your ES-style guitar and how did you get the unique control layout (and what is it exactly)? It looks like a Gibson but I’ve only see it once in a video short and the headstock is off-camera. THX !’

@@HBSuccess Glad you like the channel! It’s actually a EB-2 bass. From the early 60s. I got the guitar this way. It took many adjustments to make it a guitar. Including a Les Paul neck. Thanks for checking out the video 🤛

I admit I now get psyched for Rusty's weekly new lesson offerings! One thing I really like about Rusty's playing is what I refer to as guitar playing 'spices' and how he always adds Hendrixy slides from nowhere, pre-bends, cool bell tone notes strikes and various cool ideas that make his soloing even more interesting. I wish he'd dedicate an entire new lesson strictly to spicing up our guitar playing!! Jim C.
