Setting a goal is an awesome way to get things done. I get a lot of the things done with my cars by having a set event I want to have a repair or modification done for. It gives you far more incentive when it's for another reason beyond just getting it done.

R’s day sounds like an achievable goal. From the sounds of it the engine machining is all done, the body is nearing completion. All that time allows you to source all the parts you need to put everything together, spend some time getting it running and tuned up, totally achievable at the rate you’re working at. Been subbed for a few years now, always watch to the end for the 32 series! Driving and working on my Z32 TT. Spent some time all year so far doing one thing or another. Currently RIGHT THERE to having it on the road again just gotta figure out some BS with my brakes. You got this Kalvin!

Great update again and more rust gone, rust will be not to a minimum but eradicated soon 👍 Your fabrication skills have improved so much over the course of this insane build, now the body work is coming to an end I'm really looking forward to see the car come back together again.

I've been following this build, and I am super impressed with the level of commitment and not giving up. Regarding a couple things, @2:25 you mentioned and in previous videos, about wanting to buy a spot welder and being around $20K. You can get a great spot welder by either Tite Spot or Lenco for around $4000-6000 brand new and honestly, I like those a lot because you can maneuver it in very tight spots and they also sell the other variety of clamps to buy for it. For the carbon roof, I don't see it being an issue, reason being is because a lot of BMWs have the option for the carbon roof from factory and a ton of super cars. I think it comes down to the milage of carbon layers. Obviously you want a bit more for the structural integrity but it will for sure be just as strong or stronger than that steel flimsy skin lol. If BMW does it I do it lol. You can absolutely do it yourself, the most important part of course is just getting that steel roof skin laser straight so the carbon mold comes out perfect after you pull out the vacuum pressed mold. Also, get some Linear Blocks to get that car laser straight too. Ask if they do a sponsor. Lastly, I been networking with some guys that do acid dipping for a future Jdm restoration I want to do, they are in PA but put me on with a connect in Indiana that can do the factory E coat on the whole car for you again. If you are this far, I so do it. Keep up the great work, these videos gave me the bug to get entirely back into autobody.

Keep up the absolutely fantastic work, I'm currently building a 1989 Opel Kadett E , it's a 3door . It has a 2l 8 valve fuel injected engine , I have done all the engine wiring by myself and built the engine under my carport in the pouring rain in my yard. Unfortunately I am on my 3rd shell know as these cars are over 30 years old and suffer with the rust . I am actually going to pick up the 3rd shell on the 14th of December . I will be watching this series again on my Bluetooth speaker as I move all my parts over again . Sending u allhe best from South Africa :)

Kalvin, please do not use an undercoating! If there are even minor defects in the undercoating from rock chips or scraping at all, the water will become stuck behind the undercoating and cause MASSIVE rust issues!

Hey Kalvin. I’ve been Watching from the UK for years now. I’m a Toyota guy but I’ve always liked the R33, 32 and 300zx’s shape. That’s about it lol.
