really helpful! I used to like the Bourjois healthy mix serum untill I found the Rimmel 24 hour. OMG, that is really flawless! And I am 53, it does not settle in my lines or pores and stays put all day. Now I sound like an advertisement. The only thing is you have to know how to apply it. It can look cakey if you use a brush. I use the beauty blender and it looks amazing. Normally during the week I use Nvey Eco BB cream (a very good natural brand) which is very good but when I want the coverage I use the Rimmel.

A great video ☺ Both the Bourjois and Max Factor foundations have been staple products in my make-up bag for years. Fab products for the price. The Max Factor ageless elixir 2 in 1 is also a fantastic foundation. Gives great coverage and a lovely healthy glow without being oily x

LOVE the Bourjois, HATE the Max Factor. I found it was oddly chalky on my oily skin and then by the end of the day looked scaly (very odd). Even though I do get oily, I find that the Bourjois sits quite nicely when I work it in and doesn't need that much sorting out throughout the day...great vid :) xx

Good morning Ruth. I used the Bourjios Healthy Mix foundation a year or so ago. I really liked it but I felt as though my skin was suffocating. As I've said before, I use Laura Geller Balance and Brighten as it suits me down to the ground. Oh and the SPF's in foundation, skin care and such...research shows the SPF in these types of products only stays active for a few hours then it breaks down and becomes useless as an SPF. I was quite surprised by this research. I think products like foundation and such should clearly state how long you will have SPF protection. I know some products do actually say, always use a separate SPF but not may companies do this. Why I feel this need to add my 2 cents to videos is beyond me. :-) Thanks for the video Ruth and yes, it is a useful video. Have a fab weekend...Hopefully, Summer will return. xoxo

good drugstore foundations are getting so expensive where i live it's ridiculous. a loreal foundation starts from $15 and goes up ti $17 - $20. Same for bourjois, the healthy mix was $17 last time i checked. the prices are getting close to chanel and mac... Unless you buy it from websites and on sale, they awre up there in price. But I really appreciate this video, i have a hard time finding a base that looks good and feels good. ❤

Dear Ruth: I like bourjois a lot. Unfortunatelly here in Uruguay we 've had it once and then never get it again. I love everithing from bourjois'.But also agree that Max Factor does a great job with foundations, blushes,etc. Here everithing is expensive! Low budgets too. The Effaclar BB is amazing, unfortunately the fair/light shade is too dark for me, even in the summertime. Hopefully they will come out with more shades, it´s such a great product!

Great video! I love the L'oreal Infallible Matte in Porcelain 10. For me it is the only affordable foundation that stays on all day. The Bourjois one has a beautiful finish, but the colours... the lightest one is so dark and yellow on me :(

Have you tried the Bourjois Air Matte foundation? I have tried all of the foundations above accept the Effaclar one (will try tho!! sounds great!!) and found the Air Matte to be the perfect combination of all of them tegether. Matte but not dull, high coverige but not cakey, gives my skin a blurred look, like you say the Effaclar does.. And i really like the yellow undertones that Bourjous foundations have. Reccomend it!!

I apply it with a damp sponge and it applies really well but you're not really going to get a light coverage from it. I only use one pump and that's enough to do my whole face with medium coverage. You could try using half a pump.

+Shanebabys Actually I can't return makeup where I live haha. And I am the person who never throws anything away even if it doesn't work properly (I always cut tubes in half so I don't waste a drop because I have paid for it) As for the foundation, I tried to mix it with everything, applied it with everything (fingers, brushes: flat, buffers, sponges). Fingers and the smallest amount of product worked best for me. Here is what I have found: it is not full coverage, a good medium, and not buildable at all. (I love imperceivable long-lasting foundies or those that can be blotted and still look like nothing)

It's so annoying when people post "best budget/drugstore foundations" when 99% of the brands DO NOT cater to women of colour. The darker colours are for white women with a tan. It's ridiculous that in 2016 women of colour in the uk are struggling to find cheaper foundation options at a local boots or Superdrug! Dear Bourjois, there are women darker than "white"! Sorry Ruth, I feel like this is an issue that needs to be addressed. Great foundation choice EXCEPT 60% of women can't use them. If America can cater to their women of colour, the U.K. should too! Anyone darker than an NC25, sorry...

Absolutely, and it's something I go back to brands with ALL the time. Max Factor usually have a good range, L'Oreal's True Match has a great range but I haven't tested the formula as much as I would have liked to yet. The Effaclar situation is ridiculous, as I clearly point out in the video.
