Is there a followup video or post showing what repairs (if any) were made to fix this unit? We have a 2022 Momentum 395MSR and are experiencing excessive frame flex. What an absolute nightmare this has been for us! We were considering taking ours to the factory for repairs but this video confirms what we've been fearing. A "factory" repair does not mean a good repair. So sad to see Grand Design in this dismal state as a company.

The big problem with a class action is the Lawyers end up making out better than the actual class themselves. lawyers will make millions, the class will get pennie’s on the dollar.

The fact that so many of these are licensed for road use even, when they should be nowhere near a road with those significant structural issues... Kinda makes you wonder how many of those highway wrecks were caused by internal failure leading to loss of control.

Of course though, no surprise. Of all the trailers I looked at only one brand had consistent high marks by owners in satisfaction and that was Airstream. Literally all of the other brands were rated poorly by owners in quality and craftmanship. My friend has a dual axle Jayco and he too showed me the cheap shortcuts they used in production and how it’s cracking apart in places. He bought it brand new. We abandoned our idea of getting an RV altogether as we can’t afford an Airstream.
@leeh28666 ай бұрын
I did a lot of research before buying an RV. No RV brand is immune to flaws. I’ve read of Airstreams losing rivets all over. Having leaks difficult to trace. They may have a fewer issues, but they have their share of them. They also use the same accessories as all the other manufacturers, so those problems are still there. There are a number of Airstream problem videos available on youtube.

Every time I see another frame issue, regardless of brand, I am thankful I have a Northwoods Arctic Fox whose frame is not built by Lippert. The AF doesn't have the eye candy effect of these other brands, but they don't have frame problems. And this channel has shown problems with TT frames as well.
@BottomleyAdventures6 ай бұрын
This is not a Lippert issue, it's an issue with the manufacturer (Grand Design) who specifies the frame and specs they want from Lippert, and then fails (apparently) to attach their structure properly to that frame. GD is known to not even use all of the bolt holes in the wall / frame attachment.
@philbuell66576 ай бұрын

@@jamesglenn520 there are Lippert employees who have privately shared with media (even if you don’t consider them journalists) that Lippert has taken shortcuts with not only GD frames but other manufacturers as well. From inadequate materials to untrained welders and poor material management. Lippert shoulders much of the blame. As several employees have noted, Lippert put profits ahead of safety.

Fun fact, this is the steel that was coming out of chyna,during,covid. they weren't providing proper grading for all the various metals being supplied to the US. Just imagine of all the metals coming from chyna with improper grading certificates, how much is in our planes and buildings. It's only been failing in RVs so quickly due to the stress put on them from constant jolting movement.

When an American-made RV is in a collision it ends in a pile of match sticks and a twisted clump of metal - or a hay wagon with everything above the floor gone. There's some video of European RVs being in major collisions and they usually maintain structural integrity. Saw one in a near head-on and it was still in one piece. Totaled of course but in one piece. American made RV are complete trash. I wish we had more European options here in the states. Pretty sure the club house I built when I was 6 had more structural integrity than a GDRV.
