I’ve tried to pinpoint exactly why I enjoy following you two so much. And Tara, I think you just gave me my answer tonight when you said “we’re just a couple of dorks in an RV”. You are both yourselves naturally, nothing fake, or “made for TV fame “, and I connect with that. You have both earned and deserve 100,000 followers! Cheers. 🍻

Working 9-noon... Chad, you’re a genius! Great video Tara and Chad. We have been looking at the keys a while. We will get there sometime :) You talk about tires/rims... Well, that is one of the reasons I stuck with the F350 vs the F450. Not a big deal really but I didn’t want the odd tire size/config... Anyhow, the towing and weight capacity is pretty much the same, although you have a much better turning radius :) Great video guys! You’re awesome, keep them coming!

You guys are killing me with the motorcycle videos! Sold my toy hauler last year for a 5th wheel because we spend more time on the Alabama Gulf Coast and that area is not a good place to ride. We rode from Maryland to Key West on motorcycles a few years ago and would do it again in a heartbeat! Now because of you guys I wish I had kept my toy hauler and also purchased the 5th wheel! I am currently looking for a used toy hauler to haul two motorcycles and make a trip out West!

I had new Michelins put on our new (to us) Phaeton in Corona, CA before heading home to Georgia. I'd gotten a TST TPMS system but just never got around to trying to install it until we were camped in Pensacola. The shop in California did put metal valve stems on the tires, with flow-through metal caps. I removed the first cap and air starts rushing out of the tire. WTF? The flow was so strong I couldn't get the cap back on, but I was able to get one of the TPMS caps on. So I called Dave Howell Tires, who had great reviews. Even though it was a Saturday, and they normally operate appointment only on the weekend, they told me to come on in. Turns out my tires were balanced with shredded recycled plastic, and fragments of that plastic had jammed open every single one of my valve stem cores. They were like tiny, irregular pebbles. The techs at Howell showed me the plastic BBs they use to balance truck tires, which don't FOD the cores. Regardless, they changed out all of my cores to a different type they guaranteed would block all debris, no matter how small. The only problem was that the valve stems on my rear outside drive tires were too short for the new core. They replaced them with long stems, which meant jacking the truck to remove the tire from the rim. What they thought would be an easy job took two and a half hours, but they only charged me $84 for everything. They then offered to program and install my TPMS at no charge. I'm really glad I didn't try to install the TPMS in the middle of nowhere west Texas. Oh, and another great episode, as always, completely pooh free until the water treatment plant. As a former Airframes Branch O when I was a JayGee, loved the corrosion reference. Fly Navy.

Good info on the TPC-Schrader. Best place for TPS/Schrader selections is/are at SEMA. Universal fit application TPS are starting to roll out into the market. They mount inside the rim then you can use an aluminum schrader valve.

Big Pine and NoName were my stomping grounds in the 60's-80's. Grandparents retired there in the early 60's, lived on Avenue E at the very end at the channel entrance. Used to be a huge tree there at the dead end on NoName. Saw a huge Black eagle in that tree, with the remains of many cats and small dogs at the base. Check out Coconuts and Mountain Mikes Pizza if you get the chance. Also, The Blue Hole is the only natural fresh water in the entire keys, hence the gators.

We love the keys. We stayed at two state parks during the winter too. Curry Hammock and Bahia Honda. Oh no. Screw in tire. We have sensors on all our tires too. Good tips. Yes. State parks you need to book early. What? $150 a night? We had water views at both the state parks. Looks like we had the same spot at Curry Hammock. You need a doggie backpack. Cool tiny homes. Best Breakfast is Midway Cafe. Our dogs hated the roosters. 🤣. Love the Hemingway cats and the extra toes. I heard the penny story too. No key lime pie on a stick? Unfortunately people feed the Key Deer so they started to go up to cars and get killed. Don’t you just love the dog happy dance? Big Pine Key used to have lots of deer- back when we used to go in college. Best dinner and watch sunset is Islamorada Fish Company and dogs allowed. So excited for your big milestone. Looking forward to part 2. Take care. Alice
@ChangingLanes4 жыл бұрын
Hi Alice! $150 a night is definitely above our nightly average (WAY above lol), but we make the exception to be as close to Key West as possible 😜 We have a doggy backpack, but Chad doesn't like wearing it (maybe because it's pink haha) but I will use it occasionally. We almost ate at Islamorada Fish Co., but chose another restaurant instead. We will have to give it a try next time!! Thanks 💕

I also had a slow leaky tire after a rotation. I think there is a TSB, technical service bulletin, from Ford with a temporary fix of replacing the steel valve stems with rubber. I don't like that fix, my tire guy replaced the o ring.

Have you ever tried the systems similar to what some truckers use that link the two tires together to air up and monitor like Crossfire or Cat's Eye that tie the two valve stems together? These systems generally have a check valve in them in case one tire develops a leak the other one won't bleed the air out.

Thank you for your service! Just wanted to make sure that you are aware that you no longer have to be “retired” to have access to our Military Bases. The Purple Heart Act of 2018 made it so that Vets with a service connected disability can gain access to many of the base services including campgrounds when available. There are requirements of course but it really is something that should have been available all along to military members who were separated through no fault of their own. My husband was a career Sailor with over 12 years of service when he got medically boarded out of the Navy. So after being a military family for most of our married life, we then found ourselves on the outside with no access to the military system anymore with the exception of the VA due to his service connected disability. I didn’t think that was fair at all and finally the current Administration agrees. So I’m hoping in the future when you mention that “retired” service members can access the military campgrounds that you will also inform your audience of this Act. If you have a service connected disability you guys will probably qualify also. Happy Father’s Day Chad!

I was going to say the same thing you get access to the base and ALL of the amenities excluding Space A unless you are a disabled veteran with 100% disability rating. A disability rating of 0-90% allows you access. Being on the aircraft carrier I am sure you have some ailment recorded while you were in the military. Send me a message and I can get you in contact with the people I used to get a higher disability rating for my ailments.
