love the fact that during covid and no international travel you are still pumping out great content but at the same time have used the 'downtime' to go outside your comfort zone and learn new skills. I really admire your perseverance (starting projects is the easy part, finishing them is the hard part and you are on the home stretch) and have a go attitude, qualities that are all too often sadly missing in your generation.

Line the trash box with plastic and just clip a trash bag in the box. If if leaks, (that’s why you lined it with plastic), you can wipe it up/take it out and rinse it...just trying to preserve your wood.

The work bench was perfect - as Eric would say - legit. Suggest they use curved handles on the drawers otherwise things will constantly keep catching on either knobs or jutting edges which will become very annoying in a confined space.

Your drawer size (the vertical one) looks perfect for bottles, ya know like oil , vinegar, wine, sauces etc or anything a bit tall that woul not fit in a regular cabinet. It would just need like a bar or rail (or 2) to maintain it on the side

You should fit some catches to those cabinet doors else you may find everything on the floor after a trip. Magnetic ones should do it fine. Your videos are starting to get X rated! You should fit a projection TV with the pull down screen over the over cab bed so it can be hidden if needed, the bed that is. A black out roller blind which is white on one side does nicely.

Awesome progress, love the blue color. One thing that is hard to tell from the video. If the upper cabinet doors are going to be natural, you should cut them from a single piece of wood so that the grain pattern flows from one door to the other. I can't tell if you actually did that. It's one of those small touches no one thinks of, but when you do it that way is looks super professional and awesome. Really enjoying the series.

It's looking really good. When we had a caravan we had little latches to keep the drawers closed when travelling. Are you going to put something like that on them? Many a time we'd forget to lock them, go round a bend in the road and everything would fly out. Can't wait to see it finished. 😀

It’s looking beautiful! One thing you may want to consider is a way to keep your doors & drawers closed while you are on the road. I find with our van that the doors and drawers have a tendency to fly open while going around corners. What worked for us in our van is to use nice looking brass (or whatever finish goes well with your cabinets) “barrel bolts” that you can find at Lowes or Home Depot. I love watching your progress, you are both so talented...and adventurous!
@Theendlessadventure3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion! We're definitely going to install something to help keep the doors closed, but may end up doing catches on the inside to keep it lower profile. For the bigger/heavier cabinets, barrel bolts definitely sound like the best solution 👍

top tip - a small cordless stick Vaccum/handheld 2 in 1 makes your life way easier/cleaner. also then consider a drop shelf at the back of your kitchen benchtop. maximise wall storage
@kevinfleming99193 жыл бұрын
The colors and pattern of the cabinets and wallpaper look nice and add a good pop of accent color to the RV! Use either leather straps for drawer pulls so you don't have to worry about banging into them, or get boat "pop out" handles (watch any AQUAHOLIC or NAUTISTYLES Yacht review video to see them work) that sit flush with the drawer fronts and lock them closed so they can't come open while driving and pop out with a light push on them to unlock and have a handle to open them!

With your new AC in place on the roof, if I may recommend, I would suggest adding a small sticker in the front, somewhere close to the steering wheel where it's relatively easily seen, where it says the height (and maybe width) of your van (although weight and tire pressure could affect this). You will probably never have to use it, but if you should encounter an unexpected low bridge sign, or something similar it would make stuff faster and easier to check. Should be easier to plan routes that avoid low bridges too, if you know the height.

Warning on the magnetic spice jars. Not all magnets used are equal so make sure you get ones with strong magnets. We had some we stuck to the side of the fridge and they were weak enough magnets that when someone would shut the fridge jars would fall off the side. You're going to be in an earthquake when driving down the road so you definitely want strong magnets.
