Sorry, but what so smart about it, this cord is now only usable with this trailer? I can't use it anywhere else if I wanted too.
@md.adventures3 ай бұрын
You’re right, the cord end itself is not multipurpose. If you use your 30A cord for other things other than plugging in your RV, this would not be a great option for you

And what is the purpose of a smart plug? when you take your RV in for service and repairs don't forget to bring your smart plug cable with you, the dealer may not have one.
@md.adventures2 ай бұрын
@@EarlBalentine our twist lock was toasted so we opted for this, it has better contact so less risk of arcing. We keep our cable in our RV all the time, so plugins in at a dealer will not be an issue

It’s nuts to me that RV manufacturers are allowed to use solid-core romex.
@md.adventures3 ай бұрын
Why do you say that?
@jmpattillo3 ай бұрын
@@md.adventures it’s prohibited on marine applications because the movement of the vessel may cause repeated bending of the solid wire, this could cause the wire to break inside the sheath, leading to arcing and fire. If anything, RVs should be the same.

@@md.adventures it’s probably ok since we don’t see RVs burning up everyday, but it doesn’t make sense to me that it’s allowed. From what I’ve seen, Escape does a way better job with wiring than other manufacturers. Putting arc fault breakers in would go a long way to mitigate the slight risk.
