My grandfather and his wife lived in Sedona back in the early 1960s. I was still a little kid back then, but from what I can remember Sedona wasn't much more than a post office and a service station. Before the pandemic I used to go to Prescott from time to time, and would take 89A over Mingus Mountain and do a day trip to Sedona. It was always a beautiful drive. There was a Thai restaurant, called Thai Spices that had the best Thai food ever. It was worth the drive from Prescott. Never took 89A to Flagstaff. My parents back when my parents were still around they had a summer home in Munds Park, so back then if we did a Sedona day trip we went via the Interstate. Thanks for posting such a lovely video.

I love the little town of Jerome. I visited the town in february. After watching one of your past videos. Luckily I have a truck and camper. I can't imagine trying to take a travel trailer or a big RV up there. The next time I'm in the area, I will definitely go through Clarksdale and do some exploring. That museum is amazing

I lived in Flagstaff in the early 80's. I remember the drive into Jerome from Prescott AZ and the road didn't have any accident barriers then. A friend drove off that road back then. They didn't find her for along time. We had friends in Jerome and one night at the bar, someone bet a friend one hundred dollars that he couldn't stay overnight in the old hospital. He took the bet and didn't make it but 2 hours in that place. We all new how haunted that placee was. I wonder if anyone ever made it over night??👻❤ Love your program and visiting all the wonderful places in that area.😃

Mingus Mountain campground is a great place to stay for a couple of weeks or a weekend. I've stayed there a few times over the years. Beat the summer heat at nearly 8000 ft. elevation and the best view of Verde valley. Lots of hiking among the ponderosa pines.

I took whatever route it is from Phoenix to Prescott then took 89A over to Jerome/Cottonwood and then back over to Sedona...and a storm came...made for some of the best pics in Sedona for me I could've imagined. I didn't think (after making a few trips there in recent years) that I would get anything I hadn't gotten before but nope...the storm/weather gave me more! I plan on going there again to escape these temps that are about to get really high, as soon as my van is fixed!

Hi Russ, loved this video (watching in UK) just a question why didn't you go to the Church of the Holy Cross when you were so near Sedona - or is it further away than just looking on a map. I have seen ths Church before, built into a crag and i think it is so beautiful.
