Sir, your videos are great. You go to all of the south western parts of the states that interest me. More so, your commentary is what makes your channel. You've got a great voice (reminds me of Huell Howser), which separates you from the rest of the KZbinrs that are doing similar things. I don't subscribe to many things, but your videos are a must and I thank you. I enjoy your Laughlin area videos the most (personal preference). I felt compelled to tell you these things. Your videos get me through the work day and its a great escape. It gets me excited for retirement. Also, your videos are so crystal clear, we appreciate you not short-cutting the quality.

I used to live over in 29 palms, CA, and us girls came over to Laughlin in the 70s there were 3 , we usually went to the riverside, we got to no Mr. Laughlin . Great fun then. I think someone said you can still camp/Park overnight in lot. Miss the bell.

Moved to that area before there was a Laughlin. We worked at the old power plant. Drive across the dam to cash our checks and drive back across on the way to Searchlight where I lived. Just before you get to the footbridge across the bridge, there is a road. I saw it on here. That was the old road that went to the dam. Don's gas station was there. On the left side going toward the dam. We always had to stop and spend a few dollars on his one armed bandits and a twelve pack for the trip home. There was at least 6 in my old Cadillac going and coming. This was back in the early 70s. Nothing like it used to be. Everything is different.😊 Nice video.

@@SmittyAZ I enjoy his videos and was complimenting him. Most looks the same with minor changes. I first went to Laughlin in 1986 when I lived in Flagstaff.. MAJOR changes in the area since '86 ! Wish I had bought a few acres of land south of Bullhead then..

Hi, Russ! Into the video now where you're at the Davis Dam. We took our kids there in the early 90's. The Dam had self-guided tours then, I was impressed on how clean everything was, and it was interesting. Then the Riverside Casino offered helicopter rides, we sent out kids on it, they loved it. Now I live here in BHC, wife has passed , & kids are grown and moved away. Thankful for the good memories at the Dam. Happy Trails!

My first trip to Laughlin/Bullhead was in 1988 to visit my grandparents who moved to Bullhead in 1986, and my grandma got a post retirement job at Riverside resort as a walking cashier wearing one of those change belts. She had that job from 1986 to 1997. In 1994 they decided to move across the river from Bullhead to Laughlin. She found it was easier tax-wise to both live and work in the same state. My family would constantly visit them at least twice a year driving from our home in Corona CA to Laughlin using the River Road cutoff from the 40. Finally in 1997 she retired from working at the Riverside resort and they picked up and moved to Lake Isabella and remained there until their passing. I had many happy childhood memories visiting them in Bullhead and Laughlin, him always taking us to the buffets at the casinos and getting an employee discount whenever we got something from Riverside since grandma worked there. Interesting fact, my grandma was actually working there when comedian Sam Kinison died on his way to do a show at the Riverside resort.

Hi Russ, seen most of this video before but happy to watch it again all tied together. I love your travels and comment. Always learn something. Never been out west, as I live in New Hampshire. Wondering if you will every make it up this way in the future? Would be great if you did, we have plenty to see up here in New England. The other question I had is, What is the name of the group or people who wrote the backround music you always use? Their music fits perfectly to your adventures. Hope to hear from you... Thanks again for all your great recorded travels, LOVE EM!!!

I’ve been to Laughlin about 10 times. I think my first was 1992 or so. It was interesting and I agree I’m long ago tired of Vegas, but I do like to visit friends there. Anyway I was last there in 2015 and it was dead and gone. We stayed at the Golden Nugget and it was bad. This video makes me want to give it another shot.

KZbinr traveling robert bought a plot of land in the golden valley area to build a western rv'ing home base. Might bump into him out there. Used to go to Laughlin often but went one summer not knowing better. I practically ran from the car to the casino front door as I thought I'd fry like bacon in a skillet outside on the asphalt. I'm a weather wimp but that was crazy. As I post this; windy, gloomy and cold day west coast. When the desert heats up, it sucks in the fog and coast winds blow inland from the sea - nature trying to balance things out. Another good one here. Cheers. 👍
