I think when you get into Libby via Hwy 37 you traveled along California Avenue (that's where the old Hotel Libby is located), whereas Mineral Avenue - the next one over - has more businesses on it as well as the Dome Theater. Hopefully you got a chance to fly the drone over the Kootenai Falls after getting closer to Troy. The rest stop that's just before you get to Idaho is also one of the best I've visited along US-2.

I haven't been out west since the 80's. Your videos are bring back fond memories. Did a road trip with my brother who was in the navy on extended leave as he transitioned from Virginia to San Diego. We drove his Dotson pickup from Wisconsin to whidbey island Washington State passing thru Yellowstone. Mostly interstate driving. I remember being surprised at how dry most of Washington State was until you got near the coast. It was a neat drive down thru the pine covered mountains to Seattle once we got close. We visited a buddy of my brother's who was also in the navy at the sub base on whidbey island. After that it was down the coast thru Olympic National Park and down thru Oregon on into California along the coast. By-passed San Francisco as we cut inland and visited old neighbors who had moved to Turlock California and then back to the coast and then the interstate down to San Diego. When we passed thru Idaho the interstate dropped down to two lanes for a bit but I think they were constructing a second set of lanes as we passed. Fond memories.

My first ever log truck load took me from the upper end of the Yaak River, up over the Dodge Pass, on an unplowed logging road, through deep snow drifts, to the top of the Pass, which felt like I was on My Everest, down the steep other side, over that reservoir bridge (over lowered dam waters, of about a 500 foot drop to the water). The bridge was actually sagging, from the weight of the log load (80,000+), and then on up into Eureka, on black ice, in the dead of night, in early January, in 1983! And then, when the job was done, we took 37 to Libby, and then to Bonners Ferry idaho! ( Make sure you stop and take a good look at the Moyie Springs bridge, over it's canyon, after you cross the border and not far into Idaho!)

Always a nice trip with you. We stopped at the Libby Dam last year. You missed something very interesting across the highway from the dam. In fact your picture shows it. The hill side is bolted together and to the hillside. You can see the bolt heads in the picture as you leave the dam. I found it very interesting, it has a story board as well. Our trip was nice but we like to stop for lunch and found much of Montana closed, did find a pizza shop open in Libby, we were the only ones inside. With fuel prices so high, we will likely just "ride" along with you this year.

So many beautiful picture postcard perfect moments in your travels, it will be hard to pick a best one.👍

Those tracks you had in your various drone shots is the BNSF Kootenai River Subdivision. That subdivision runs from Whitefish Montana to Spokane Washington. It is a part of the BNSF Northern Transcon. Amtrak's Empire Builder runs that sub as it runs between Chicago to Spokane. The northern leg will run into Seattle, the southern leg will run into Portland from Spokane. That subdivision also runs through Libby Montana.
