Oh my goodness, just stumbled across your video! You were traveling in the area I grew up in! I was born in Harlowton and grew up in White Sulphur Springs! Brought back SO many memories…hope you enjoyed the area. I don’t know if you remember the Graves Hotel in Harlowton, but it burned down last weekend. It was a gorgeous old hotel built in 1904 I believe, huge loss for the community…

At 11:24 you are passing a small reservoir on your way to Harlowton. My Grandfather helped construct that back in the day. I better quit getting nostalgic, this is your video not mine..

Still beautiful country Russ! Geez. You already have a full time job...drive, navigate, video, narrate, edit, upload, field comments, maintain your equipment, camp, make coffee, shop, cook, and spoil us, just to name a few! Thanks for all your hard work! It's much appreciated!😀🌻💙

My son lives in Townsend and while visiting him each summer I drive the same road your on when I go to Helena to shop. Its very cool to be sitting at home in Florida watching your video and be familiar with the road your on. I have driven it many times. I love it there. I lived in Dillon, Montana for 23 years so many of the roads your traveling on your trip are quite familiar to me. Brings back wonderful memories. Thank you so very much for your videos.

@jerryball77835 жыл бұрын
You mention family buried in Lavina... wow small world. I have my great grand parents, a grand aunt, an aunt and uncle that died as infants buried there. My parents that are still living met in Lavina and have burial plots there as well! When Russ talks about small town USA. Lavina is so small he didn't even comment on it, ha! Very small and what are the odds of two people with ancestors in the same very small cemetery writing in the comments of this video!!! Thanks for sharing BR!

Once again Russ, you do not disappoint those of us who follow you. We get to travel with you while sitting at our sticks and bricks. I love seeing small town USA. From your comments about Montana, I take it that when you hit half a tank, start look for go-go juice? Be safe on the road my friend.

I love a couple of cooler, drizzly, overcast days in summer as respite from the heat. Driving is much easier too without the bright, blinding glare of the sun streaming into the windshield for hours.

Harlowton was the Eastern terminus of the Milwaukee Road's Electrification between Harlowton and Avery Idaho. The depot still stands as well as the roundhouse(now a cow barn). You passed one of the Box Cabs built by GE for the Milw.

@thejerseyj16365 жыл бұрын
I love rolling through the old towns. Unfortunately, that's about all you can do in them anymore. Although, I do try to patronise the cafes and stores that are still open. Shopping malls have killed the little downtowns of America, so sad.

Small town living, everyone knows everyone and their relatives. I'm guessing you spend a lot of money on gas up there. Long distances between towns and shopping areas. It makes a person wonder how folks make a living up there. Nice mule deer. Probably more deer than people. Happy trails.
