OMG - the quality of that original fabrication is abysmal...what a disgrace. Great job putting things right... thumbs-up !

Yeh it was really surprising to see that. I heard that one of the big manufacturers had a slew of tank problems a few years ago. Tanks for watching😏

Nice job. Across many brands and a couple decades many RV’s have had inadequate support under tanks. Back east where a lot of these come from, people go to RV campgrounds with hookups or at least water at the entrance. Out west, people boondock, and have to travel with water. Last 5th wheel I did had OSB and a couple pieces of 2” angle- that sagged and bent when full. Plywood went in, straightened the angle, and added two pieces of 2” 11ga square tube. On the plus side, while you’ve got the corplast down it’s a good time to add tank heaters or any other wiring, better insulation or whatever. Now days the underbelly is often put on with Ramset nails, which would not be easy to remove if you had a problem away from your shop, so upgrading to self drill screws is another plus imho

We have an ultralight travel trailer too, and they sure do cut corners on workmanship. Nice repair.👍

Im sort of curious; do you drive around with a full water tank?
@ChipsAndSparksGarage4 жыл бұрын
@@unitedstatesofbuild4915 Yes, that’s the whole point of having a water tank. When you go to a campground with no hookups, you need to bring your own water. My theory is, the guy that designed that RV, has never used one....

Folks We have a 2023 22MLS Cougar. We already had to change a fresh Water tank. Folks they are held in by tooth picks. I know they all have underbelly’s so you cannot just look but strongly recommend if you ever have to take the belly part way off, do your own repairs so you can see all the things you need to upgrade. The 24’s will be worse. Talked to. Cert. and these things across the boards are getting worse and worse. We added a cross bar to help assist ours. And so much more we did correctly that the factories are not…..USMC/USAF Ret.

Good day Sir 😊 I totally agree with you Sir on all your comments and observations, why then putting a water tank then ??? My old RV weight 7000 lbs so it is far from light weight LOL !!! Keep up the good job Sir Cheers !!! 👍😊

The old ones were heavy, thats for sure. Nowadays you see little 4cyl cars pulling 20' trailers

Nice repair job! I gotta be honest I didn’t realize how crappy they build campers, Coleman should be very ashamed of the crap they are selling. I have some friends with campers and they say they are just thrown together and now I see what they mean. They are not inexpensive either. Thanks, DC

Its crazy how much the overall mindset of many of these manufacturers has pivoted from quality craftsmanship to a focus on that bottom dollar
@dannycruikshank2833 Жыл бұрын
Pretty crappy workmanship by the factory! It’s a shame they don’t care about quality work for what they charge for a new camper.

"Water's super heavy and the construction of your trailer sucks" AMEN!!!! 👍 The only folks that realize RVs are total crap are repair men and "former" RV owners. 😉
