Fern Dog, do your own caulking/sealing. I recommend OSI quad max. If you want water clean up, go with DAP Dynaflex. For roofing, nothing beats Eternabond with Premium Pro sealant on tbe edges. Dealers or factories will just use the same garbage that failed already.

Off the shelf silicone won't work well. I would suggest using OSI quad you can find that at Home Depot, Lowe's. Use a scrub brush to ensure all the filth is removed then apply. Depending on how bad it is delamed you could take out windows, doors lights to get behind it and epoxy it back. Sometimes you have to cut the siding, make repairs and re-adhere the siding which will require some sort of bodywork or creative thinking to conceal the cut. The very first step is knowing where the leak source is and have that corrected as you go about the repair. No sense fixing the damage if the leak source will ruin it again. Thanks for watching!

Hello and great info. I get the regular type construction materials and adhesives but can you comment on the glues that you use to laminate that final finished surface layer onto the back of this one? Is it some sort of contact cement or epoxy with a setup time i need to be aware of? I see you rolling it for contact and I'm guessing it would have to be awfully sticky. The back of that looked real good in the video when you rolled it out of the shop.

@@cynthiapanter6808 if I were to buy one I would opt for an older one ... 2006 or older with Filon siding not aluminum. They were built better before the recession. Once they learned how much they could save on cutting corners they stayed the course and got worse. Just watched a video on how keystone is making travel trailers lighter by using a thinner frame... the frame will buckle and fail at the hitch. The only camper I have not worked on is an airstream. If you buy a motor home you will need to tow a car because when you hook up and decide you need to go somewhere you will need to break down your electric and sewer to travel to come back and hook up again. Class Cs are known for bunk leaks . Class A are very big and gas hogs. I would like to have a basic camper bumper pull with no frills or unnecessary electronics. Eventually I will build one.

Any product that requires to be reapplied as Dicor does, every 3 to 4 months can't be very good quality , can it? I don't know the actual chemical compounds in Dicor, but it seems to be a butyl acrylic blend. When the acrylic fractures and cracks it leaves a path for the sun's UV Ray's to break down the butyl.

@@RVROOFINSTALL isn't there always going to be moisture in the trim? It seems like every screw I've seen in these videos are rusted and often near failure, as you have said, you know about electrolytic transfer, and it seems marine and even commercial construction uses SS... IMO, steel, zinc plated or not, is part of the process leading to delam failures. Also the application of trim doesn't seem to be structural enough to snap the heads of SS (unless they are being torqued to much on install). Thanks for the vids and the thoughtful response.
