What is/ was you(r) trade? You would have to understand membranes. EPDM is problematic and hard to flash. TPO is a stronger membrane, less friction for branch snags, has substantial UV resistance compared to rubber. Rubber shrinks and I'd typically unstructured. Easy to tear, less tensile strength. TPO is heat welded with a hot air gun. Watch the video on heat welding we got posted.

Any 1.25 inch number 8 pan head square drive....or 1/4" hex drive will work fine. We have stainless here, but zinc will be fine as well. Make sure they are sealed well. Thanks for watching!

Products work well with proper preparation and application. Take any product, machine, vehicle our if it's intended design and it will fail. We don't use Eternabond here.

I have a 1990 Foretravel Grand Villa Unihome with a 3208 Cat rear pusher, its in almost excellant condition and we live in it, I want to come hopefully in January 2019 and get a new roof skin replaced, how much and how long would it take to do the job providing there's no other issues, Where are you actually located as we are from the New Orleans Area, Thanks, God Bless.

I have a 2003 Newmar which has a Brite tech TPO roof which has a fleece backing. My understanding is EPDM has a black back. You said this was 60 MIL TPO but it's black on the back which is EPDM, right. Beautiful job. How much would a job like this run. We have one area next to the rear a/c that is a little crunchy where the TPO roof has a bubble. 39' Dutch Star 2003. Thanks

Commercial grade backings are always black or grayish. This is a base. RV grade TPO has no backing / base that's why it's white. They're too thin to weld properly. We shy away from quotes on social media. You could call M-F 423.475.7663. Thanks for watching!

I have a Jayco class C from 96 I think. But the roof has bad water damage. I want to fix it but I'm afraid it's gonna cost 10s of thousands of dollars. I'm also a couple hundred miles away from you. Like your videos though. Maybe I can get it to you someday.

I;m a former tradesmen and construction manager. I wish you would explain more about your technical reasoning and application details. Why TPO? Why not 60 mil EPDM? What not alum. sheets and flashing? How long do you relax the TPO, I have a million questions. How do you heat weld? Heat guns or torch?

GAF has installation intructions online. TPO welds with hot air, not open flame. EPDM seams use glue or peel and stick tapes. Im sure some regions have a preference. Where i am, most have had better experiences with tpo.

I have a HRambler of the same year as this NewMar. My HRambler came originally equiped with 1pc aluminum roof. Absolutely no leaks anywherw. Why people put rubber on their roofs, is completely beyond me.

Do you use "pvc" primer on the TPO? Also do you use the primer where you weld the TPO to the TPO on the vents and other roof accessories or where adhesive is used on the TPO or both? (hope that came out right!)

Prime all plastics , acrylics and roof membranes that will come in contact with the caulk.

@@ricksparks2986 you could get away with it. Every major roofing manufacturer sells primer for their roof systems. Whatever brand of roof you are installing they will have the primer for it.

RV ROOF INSTALL Well I can’t really go that route my nephew is a union roofer and that was left over from a big commercial project and we worked something out on that but he brought me the caulk that they use and the term bar enough for my camper and then another type of plastic that comes in a roll it doesn’t have the fiber mesh in it and he said they use it to use it to heat up and form around the roof accessories I believe he said, but he has since moved out of state and I haven’t had contact with him for a while so I was trying to get a few tips off of KZbin and your channel has really been helpful I appreciate it!
