Thanks Bonnie! We just checked and the trails we submitted aren't showing yet on All Trails, so we just resubmitted them. We really like All Trails also. Very handy!

Love this video and that park. Those trails look so nice. James goes to Bastrop all the time for work and we know about that State park but didn't know about this one. We will for sure have to visit. Thanks so much for taking us a long. Looked like Star enjoyed her water. It was so cute when you poured it on head. I am sure that felt so good.
@rvamericayall4 жыл бұрын
Hey Tammy! Yes, you and James definitely need to check out South Shore Park on one of your visits to Bastrop. We love Bastrop State Park too, and will be visiting there later this year, but amazingly even though South Shore is only 2 miles from the state park, it has no damage from the wildfires a few years back.

Awesome job guys. We were actually there at the same time, and couldn’t believe how level the sites were. Also we didn’t realize they had so many trails. We did heron trail one morning but it got very hot in the days we were there.
@rvamericayall4 жыл бұрын
We were really impressed by the quality of the sites. When we get back over that way during a cooler month, we want to take the hike that connects to North Shore Park. We hear it has some really nice views.

Glad you enjoyed the tour. It is a great park and we loved every minute of our stay. Bastop State Park is just 2 miles away. We’ll be visiting there later this year. Just to clarify, South Shore Park is very state park like, but it is owned and operated by the Lower Colorado River Authority, not Texas Parks and Wildlife. We have a lot more information about it on our website: rvtexasyall.com/region-central-texas/campgrounds/lake-bastrop-south-shore-park

@@rvamericayall I am looking for some fairly easy hikes! Having had a total knee replacement a year and a half ago which caused me to have some major back issues, I need the least difficult hikes! Working on getting my back better before I hit the road! But I am not going to let my health issues stop me from traveling! I also have a failing heart, but I need to get out there and spend what's left of my life doing something I have dreamed of doing for years! I was planning to leave in October, but think I will wait until after the elections in November! So keep the videos coming, because I plan to head to Texas!
@rvamericayall4 жыл бұрын
@@annparham5478 A lot of the hiking was was easy. The Swift Trail, in particular, would be good. The Loblolly and Heron have minor elevation gains. Not very noticeable for us on foot, but more noticeable on bikes. 😁 Hope to cross paths with you when you're down this way.

Now THAT's an active campground. I got to looking at the geocaching.com site and for geocachers there are about a dozen geocaches in and around the park. I'm there! Great video! We've only been to this park once, and it was before we were RVers. We'll definitely have to go back! By the way, if you have time, you might check out McKinney Roughs Natural Area, another LCRA park just down the road from you. No campground, but some great hiking (and zip lining if you are so inclined)! Y'all stay safe!

Good almost afternoon Y'all ☕️! For a minute there, I thought y'all had the whole place to yourselves until y'all took a stroll around the sites on your bikes 🚴🏽♂️! Just wondering if there's any good fishing 🎣 in the lake? Ms Star looks like she was sure enjoying herself with nature too!
@rvamericayall4 жыл бұрын
Hey Ben! It was definitely very quiet for most of the week! Yes, since this lake was created to act as a cooling lake for the local power plant, the water stays warm and we hear the fish love it. Hi Susan! Yes, we can only stay in parks that welcome pets. South Shore Park is very pet friendly. They must be on leash, but are allowed everywhere except in buildings (with the exception of some of the cabins... this park has some pet-friendly cabins!).

Does the rv camp site include water and sewer hookup? Please include details about the rv hookup sites (electric water sewer) in your videos Thanks
@rvamericayall4 жыл бұрын
Hi Haroon! So sorry about that. We always talk about the types of hookups available in our videos. Somehow we missed that in this one. Our site had 30/50 amp electric and water. There is a very nice dump station near the park entrance. We have all of the details in our Park Visitors’ Guide: rvtexasyall.com/region-central-texas/campgrounds/lake-bastrop-south-shore-park

@rvamericayall4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jennifer! When you see us walking around, biking and kayaking, we're using our GoPro Hero 8 ( amzn.to/31OdSoO ). It has a built in gimbal which is AWESOME! We carry it on a Manfrotto Mini Tripod ( amzn.to/3f5y35o ). We also have a GoPro Hero 7 which we use on the move as well (especially with audio... we have an external microphone for it). It also has a good internal gimbal. You can find all of the gear we use on our Amazon storefront: www.amazon.com/shop/rvtexasyall
