The Leo vs Qrow fan animation is a great example of how seemingly bad weapons can be used well with the right choreography. Makes me want to see other bad RWBY weapons done better

I know right! But the thing that really sold it was how it Really Could’ve been a Fight Worth watching! Had they Given Leo more range with his willingness to submit to Salem out of that fear! Fighting Qrow in this was just another means to his own survival! It helps that “CRS” really used that Context heavy scene with the music to sell how tragic/ yet angry this battle is for the both of them! Cause once the talking stops, that’s when it should be Nothing but action until someone is face down!

So glad you enjoyed our submission, we're freaking out over here! The way you were bewildered at how Leo's weapon is cool now somehow, that's exactly what we were going for! But while I wish I could take credit for writing that super clever reference to the medal, it was actually accidental. I completely forgot that was in Wizard of Oz, I just thought it was neat dialogue. Oh also, our voice actor very much appreciates the fact that you thought he was two different people. Fun fact, he's also the singer. EDIT: After careful consideration, and after consulting my lawyers, I've decided that the medal reference was very much intentional and I'm a genius writer

@TheGentleman'sGuide Tbh that style was born out of necessity so modelling wouldn't take as long. But yes, we do refer to the character models as PS1 Leo and PS1 Qrow

I also find it amazing how you managed to use the environment despite not changing the scene that is brilliant on how you made the shield compass a weapon for both offense and defense by incorporating dust BRILLIANT STUFF.

This was very fun to do. Amazing Job for everyone in this video! I wish I got to do more with this, but thanks to my limitations with digital art, and AJ and I live in different time zones and her going on, it’s still kind of looks rough. But I feel like it’s OK because I feel like the conversation is enough to carry the scene even if it is a bit Choppy. Huge shout out to Noot for the help. Their honestly amazing. I can’t wait to do some more in the future!

I loved all of these entries, people really brought out their A-game for this. Great job! 🦊✨ The Leo fight was especially awesome after years of seeing what a joke he was in the show, it's neat to see someone do him justice and make him a badass. This challenge’s turn out really was amazing! Each video had such a different and unique feel. And so many different mediums used, it’s all so impressive. Some of my favorite parts were the amount of speed and energy put into the different fight videos, really exciting. And the last video was so colorful and cheery from Tyrian’s POV, no less. Funny how you mention the amount of layers I may have used, Critter. I actually had to split the animation into 3 different files because procreate kept crashing due to too many layers. XD

Wow, yeah I‘m glad you liked it. ^^ I must admit after I couldn’t partake in the first challenge, due to final exams, I practically jumped at this opportunity. The idea of poisoning crows in the park was in the back of my mind for quite some time now, tho it didn’t see the light of day until my first two attempts at a submission failed. ( one in the audio edeting stage and the other just didn’t turne out how I wanted to.) But this was really fun and I would love to it again. ( Tho it’s completely valid if you‘d like to distance yourself from roosters teeth and by extension Rwby, given that your last video was about the rooster teeth drama. And thus you wouldn’t want to make another animation challenge. … But if that’s the case might I suggest an ever after hight animation challenge or something else that you have covered on your channel. This was just so much fun and I would like this to not be my first and final submission to one of your challenges) But if you‘ll excuse me, I have to see those mad lads that had the balls to actually animate a fight scene! Blender USED to be hard to use, but Blender has gone through 2 major UI overhauls and there are tons (TONS) of learning resources to show you whatever you need.

Hi! I was the sibling helping Anshiel animate and storyboard + edit the Qrow vs Raven video! (If the audio is too loud in parts, that's on me because I didn't notice lol xD) Thank you for all your kind words!! I really like how much you've covered all of these different entries despite having a minute or so for each! If you're surprised about all the people working in blender, you'll like hearing what we used for the animation and editing in our video haha xD No but no joke - besides being really decent at a lot of 3D stuff now (I started using blender 14~ years ago and it's a lot better) Blender has a very neat 2D suite (greasepencil) and I really enjoyed learning/trying new stuff while making our entry :3 But yeah this was really fun to take part in! We started pretty early but kept putting it off for a long times so I'm sure with more than three days we could have polished it even more haha. I also think dialogue during combat can be pretty hard to nail, so when Anshiel talked to me about doing a RWBY animatic based on the Owl House fight in season 1, I jumped at the chance to storyboard or draw anything for it, cuz there are just SO mnay interesting ways to use this audio and I felt like it fit Qrow and Raven perfectly. Never continued watching RWBY itself beyond a few wayward episodes with our other sibling, but I always felt like the show underutilized both of these bird adults a bit too much. Like there's just so much there to use? It's why fanstuff like these animations are so fun to watch. I'm completely new to your channel so the reviews and the animation challenges have been really entertaining so far! Anyway, very cool review of these, I'm excited to have new stuff to watch now! :3

Have you considered making playlists on your channel featuring all of the submissions for a given contest? Having links in the description is very nice, but for mobile users it can be a hassle to switch videos, and then have to come back to this video, switch videos again, etc (admittedly, its not *that* much of a hassle. I also understand maybe you don't want to fill your channel with playlists or that you don't want the playlist to exclude submissions not on youtube themself)
