Given the desert terrain of Vacuo and what we know from the books "After the Fall" and "Before the Dawn" The Grimm in Vacuo are far more dangerous there then anywhere else on Remnant except Salem's domain, and unlike the floating city of Atlas she won't need create another flying Leviathan class Grimm like Monstra to breach the city's defences. Suffice to say our heroes could wind up surrounded on all sides by Grimm in the later half of Volume 10.

I am expecting the following characters to bite the dust: Nora - She has collected enough death flags and CRWBY desperately wants another Pyrrah moment. Qrow - The ship tease with Clover is over and he is going down the same route of crazed obsession that Adam and Ironwood went down. I predict he may die in a fight with Tyrian. Probably kill each other. Mercury - Is a dead man walking. He will be killed, I suspect by Tyrian. But he will die within eyeshot of Emerald so that she (and we) will see his "I should have listened to you" face before dying. Raven - She is and adult character. Not consider a cute anime girl. And she is a maiden. She will be killed off so the power can go where it needs to go.

I can also see Qrow and Mercury dying as well. I feel like Mercury might turn to help Em out and Tyrian will just get to him. Raven is an interesting one. The Maidens do have plenty of death flags tho so I can see it happening.

@@miln25 Yeah, this show does male characters pretty dirty. Qrow last seen is pretty messed up now. A mere shadow of his former self. And is now being led around by the likes of Robyn of all people. Yeah, he's going to die. Qrow and Tyrian may end up killing each other. Mercury may be having second thoughts after hearing Tyrian's reveal that Salem just wants to destroy the world. He may even decided to leave, which will prompt Tyrian to act on his threat back in V6 where he begged Mercury and Emerald to try and leave. Mercury, like most male characters on the show, won't be given a chance to flip. (Or live long enough to talk about it, as in Hazel's case.) Tyrian will mortally wound him. Emerald may be nearby to witness it and/or Mercury's regret at not listening to her back in V8 when she tried to warn him. However no harm will come to Emerald. As Tyrian will not get a chance to take her out as well. Raven is one of my favorite characters to see. If for nothing else, because when even she appears, more lore was revealed. But I think once that team STRQ flashback is released, then her time on the show will be mostly done. Plot armor gone. As she will have to be taken down for the power to move. I just hope Raven is not defeated by Cinder in some ridiculous power scaled fight.

So if Raven has to die so Yang gets the maiden power, then I want Summer Rose to still be alive as a grimm thing Salem is hiding and I want team RWBY to eventually be able to save her by the end of the series. I wonder if de-grimmifying Salem will auto-de-grimm all of her creations.

Thankfully , unlike the past few headmasters - Theodore is pretty dam cool. You really cant mess with the man, though he a bit over-protective and 100% ready to throw hands at any given moment. Xanthe is HELLA SPOOKY but shes his Glynda - her semblance is stupid op ( being able to turn anything she touches into gold and rending weapons and items useless forever ) . So, at the very least, they gonna be good on that front. The real issues are gonna come with whatever Salem is doing with the Staff of Creation. Right now, Vacuo is in very interesting spot. Having the support of global powers backing them, what is left of the Atlisian advancements, plus their natural home advantage , really puts Vacuo in high spot to do well ( because everyone is working together ) Remember when the girls were playing their card game back in V1? Weiss had control of Vacuo, something I *hope* comes to play out in the show in some way. She has a card that lets her take the discarded Atlas air fleet and add it to her hand [[ What's left of the Atlas air fleet is LITERALLY in Vacuo now ]] . Yang goes on to explain to Weiss that all Vacuo based cards come with a bonus. They are naturally resistant to environmental effects and that if she plays sandstorm it would disable all of Yang's ground troops. Which makes it so Weiss' only "3 moves away from conquering Remnant" .But yang pulls a trap card and destroys ALL the armies. [[ This will be your big soul crushing moment ]] But at the last moment, Jaune pops up and asks to play Weiss' hand as he feels he can help. Weiss denies him and wont trust him with "The Good people of Vacuo" . . . well - what if now she *finally* trusts him with "The Good people of Vacuo" and prevents that Trap Card from destroying them all? I know it's a reach but Im living for that full circle XDD

I've been slacking on the books...I've been on the last chapter for Before the Dawn for about two years now So im going to have to reread both books to remember all the info about Vacuo again. Im expecting big things from Xanthe and I hope she and Glynda interact together. Seeing two badass women fighting is something that I enjoy from RWBY. Id be laughing my ass off if they make the Card game callback. XD I hope we get a bit of downtime just so that our characters can interact with each other and maybe even remember some good times at Beacon. Honestly, I feel like Weiss and Jaune are going to have some type of fun moment in Vacuo arc. As close as they've come I can see them teasing each other about their times at Beacon.

Trust me, I am calling it right now. Theodore will be the best of all the Headmasters. He will trust team R/W/BY implicitly, if not right away. He will be supportive and helpful and understanding. Team R/W/BY will easily trust Theodore. They will not go behind his back or throw him under a bus. They will work with him and Vaccuo will not fall.

It wouldn't surprise me if the sword of destruction was taken out of the Vacuo vault already since without Ruby's silver eyes they'd need a powerful deterrent against Salem, Cinder, and the Grimm. Plus this way the Summer Maiden could've gone back into hiding after opening the vault till they're sure of Cinder's whereabouts.

I had an idea where Salem retasks Tyrian with kidnapping Ruby in order to get her out of the way and maybe corrupt her into a grim like the guy from volume 8 This would also be a good way for Ruby to meet Salem face to face and the 2 can have some interaction with one another This is just an idea though doesn't mean it will happen so give me some feedback on this theory

I don't know what's going to happen in volume 10 or during the whole vacuo ark but I can suspect. First; there will be a tearful reunion between team RWBY, Juane, and all their friends, Second; the current summer maiden will die and Ruby will be chosen as the replacement, Third; Salem will do something horrible to Cinder for lying to her (hopefully kill her), and Fourth; near the end of the vacuo ark Salem will be driven off but Ruby will be captured and taken to Salem's kingdom.

I do hope we get some type of lore on the Silver Eyes. While its probably just a power thats been based down by the God of Light. But I hope we get a flashback of some pervious wielders. And at this point Oscar is such a great character that I think he will really step up as more of a leader. Man was pulling his weight in V8.

I think this time the hero should win the battle of Vacuo because it will get boring if the villain always wins and get predictable. I agree the following should be about reconnecting and reuniting with your friend with the rest of the world uniting against a common enemy. There may be a lot of casualties, but it will Vacuo stand as like a Symbol of unity Against an overwhelming force.

Nah. If the pattern continue, our heroes may come out on top this round. They failed to save Beacon, narrowly saved Mistral, epically failed to save Atlas, so Vacuo may take heavy losses, but they may end up coming out on top, especially with Ruby's confidence renewed following volume 9.

I think Emerald will be the next fall maiden. Cinder's true opinion of Emerald probably lies somewhere in between what Mercury thinks and what Emerald thinks, and I think on some level Salem knows and doesn't like it. Her toxic yandere shiz extends not just to Ozma, but to the kids and her 'vessel', Cinder. I'm wondering if there's just a teensy bit of a Winter knocking out Marrow so Ironwood wouldn't kill him dynamic going on there, but a much more toxic version of it because this is Cinder we're talking about.

Nah theres no way shes killing Winter or RAVEN. If she somehow gets all the Maiden powers im calling B.S. Unless Salem steps up and beats the Maidens herself and lets Cinder get the final kill. But I doubt that'll happen.

@@miln25 Theory: What if Cinder kills Raven, but the power goes to Yang? Raven always failed as a mother, so I could see her redeeming herself by sacrificing herself for her daughter. She'd give Yang the power necessary to protect not only herself, but the family she holds close to her heart. Raven and Summer failed to stop Salem, but perhaps their daughters can work together to finish what they started.

My wish is that they'll only let her get the summer one, and no more. I don't want Winter to get killed by her. The thing is, once she gets the summer one Salem won't technically need her to get the winter or spring ones, unless I'm missing something. I wonder if they'll turn on each other after that. Salem has to have figured out the fact that Cinder wasn't 100% honest with her in volume 8, even if she doesn't know what the exact lie is yet. Her face went from looking genuinely proud of Cinder to giving off so much silent see me after class energy. You don't live that long without developing at least a little bit of a bs detector.

It has to mean something! She's been wearing it every freaking volume right under our noses! But even if that doesn't happen, the most important thing about Cinder's death to me is us getting to see Salem start to unravel a bit. I love drama. But we probably won't get that mystery solved until volume 11 or 12.

I believe that Ruby Rose will disband the team for unintentionally and emotionally abandoning her so she can work on some parts of her life as Yang has, but I'm thinking that Ren will use the eyeball version of his semblance on Weiss then tell Ruby that she was the first of all four of them that truly understood what she was truly going through, and that she should let her stay with her to work things out like both Yang and Blake did.

There’s absolutely no way they’re gonna recover the other relics. The final arc would have no stakes if the heroes have the entire upper hand PLUS already beat her in Vacuo. They’ll likely have a bittersweet victory in Vacuo, saving the kingdom but losing the relic and some lives in the process. Salem has to summon the gods its basically the entire plot of the show.

The Final Arc will still have Stakes. As long as Salem is alive then our hero's will always have the disadvantage. Especially since Salem's forces are still occupying Beacon at the moment. She has basically an unlimited army at her hands. Besides if our Hero's do recover the relics in Vacuo. The final arc could have another situation where Salem at least gathers all the relics in one place and summons the gods. I personally dont want the Gods to intervein but thats just me :/ I cant help but feel like the Gods are going to come back to Remnant.

@@miln25 I think the writers are making more of an effort to make the villains more threatening. At least Cinder. Volume 8 saw a victory the villains hadn't achieved since volume 3, and a common criticism of the show was that the villains kept losing post volume 3. So I think with the writers actively trying to keep the stakes high and the villains threatening to the audience, they'll have Vacuo be a bittersweet victory. I don't see a scenario in which Salem loses the relics but even if the heroes save Vacuo and keep the sword of destruction they will have to lose it at some point in the final arc. I've never been super big on the Gods intervening as well but I think it's pretty clear that's what's gonna end up happening and humanity will be spared. But for that to happen Salem is gonna need a solid dub in Vacuo or in the final arc. I think especially with Cinder proving herself to still be a threat in volume 8 (and the criticism that Salem didn't do much in volume 8) I think we can expect the next time she personally gets involved for it to be a solid dub in her favor. That doesn't mean they still can't save Vacuo. I'm actually way more concerned about the overwhelming amount of characters and lack of time to showcase them rather than whether or not the good guys will win. The writers would be smart to leave most of the side characters in the background and focus on the main group and villains.

@@jakejax8032 Theres a 95% chance that there wont be enough screentime to show off all of the 50 side characters that are about to be fighting in Vacuo. Id say mainly focus on team CFVY maybe a little from team SSSN and the rest just goes to the main cast. I hope they wont try and spread themselves too thin and us getting no big focused fight. I rather have one really good fight then take 3-4 forgettable ones. Maybe we will get another Cinder fight in Vacuo.

They need to focus on their core plot and characters, they can side story all kinds of things for the secondary and tertiary characters, but they _need_ to nail their core resolution. First you tell a great story, then you merchandize it for the big bucks, as space balls taught us.

As long as v10 shows more about nora ren and the rest in vacuo as well as the villains and not just focused on team rwby again like they did in v9 Honestly i really don't even want to see any member of team rwby or jaune in v10 They got an entire season to them and only them can we finally know what happened to the others

I feel like Nora and Ren well get a lot more screentime because of what happened with them in V8. Their favorites among the series and many are looking forward to their return. Plus their reaction to Jaune and everything that hes been through.

Huh thats interesting....when she died while fighting ozpin in V6 Ch3 she glowed gold and came back. So id assume if she got completely erased she would come back in like a Grimm puddle state and then slowly reform her body and head again

If Remnant had the sense to develop a different form of fuel than Dust, (such as hydrocarbons for instance, or anything else you can make rocket fuel out of) Salem could be defeated no problem. Put one of the relics inside a rocket that you've disguised as a skyscraper. When Salem goes to get the relic, fire the rocket on a one way trip to the sun. Even if she's immortal, the gravity means she's never getting out of there, and will just keep burning up and reforming for all eternity. And, as one of the relics is in the sun with her, that means the four relics can never be reunited, which means the gods can't return and kill everyone by throwing a petty tantrum. Again.

Honestly, I can see a path to have Vacuo be a total defeat, without it being the end. Salem marches across the desert, gathering the Grimm and overrunning Vacuo one settlement at a time on a course for Shade. The nomads rally around Shade for safety. A large scale battle ensues and while all three relics are claimed by the protagonists and they escape with them? Vacuo is annihilated in the process. No armies, no Huntsmen and Huntresses left, no Kingdoms or Maidens to defend them. Salem, sure she has won, makes no big deal about hunting down the protagonists. Cinder Fall on the other hand, refuses to let them go. Seeing no other option, Oscar suggests they try one last throw of the dice. Oscar tells Ozpin to 'be quiet' and suggests the remaining protagonists go to Beacon, get the crown, and summon the gods. Ozma has always been too afraid to summon them and Ozpin would never take that risk. Oscar on the other hand, cares too much not to try it. 'Either the Gods fix it, or everyone dies anyway.' The only things standing in their way are Grimm, including the wyvern still at Beacon, and Cinder Fall. By the time Salem realizes what's going on, that the crew are doing an end run around her, she's too late. (We don't have to kill you to beat you Salem. / There will be no victory in strength. Both coming back around.) All it takes is one smaller, more honest soul to convince the brother gods to fix their mess and leave the people of Remnant to live their lives. Pay off for how it all started, a final engagement with Cinder Fall and the wyvern, Oscar stepping out of Ozma's long shadow. Leave a world that is in ruins, with Grimm everywhere... but without Salem, the fandom can happily believe that Remnant will recover.

God im really hoping that Salem gets to show just how destructive and powerful she can be. No more Grimm tentacles or letting her Lt's do the work. Shes gotta flex. I do think Ozpin has been to scared to actually summon the Gods. While the God of Dark was hasty to kill humanity I believe the God of Light might step in a bit more this time and try to preserve their creation. After all its not like Ozpin gave up!

I enjoy when she’s on screen but I wish we knew her involvement with Raven and team STRQ. I always wish they gave her better powers as a villain. It’s fine for her to let her henchman do all the work but when she appears on screen I don’t fear her at all. She shot light beams at Oscar, she created the hound which was cool but the hound died too fast. She has her jellyfish tentacles but that’s kind of it. After 7 years of her getting screen time I see her more as a Milf than a villain 😭.

@@miln25 I don't think I have the words to express how great a full on '4+ squads of Hunters ambush Salem' scene in which she demonstrates just how much more dangerous she is magically than maidens are would make me happy. A chance to go crazy with mass destruction. Or if they wish to save time, have her go full 'time to give people PTSD' and do a miniature version of the wave that wiped out humanity when she defied the brother gods. She's not directly threatening, so we need a demonstration of why she alone should be feared. No Grimm, no allies. Just an enormous amount of combat power against her alone and a visceral demonstration of why she's so convinced 'there will be no victory in strength'.

True, some heroes may die but for ONCE SOME VILLIANS HAVE TO AS WELL!! And Salem wont destroy Vacuo. if she does then what is the point of doing anything anymore? If they loses they loses the very last fight and yes, maybe the last relic is not there btu what is the point of protecting it when there is no defense left? Is this suppose to be a hidden hope in the darkest hour? Only I like thoose stories, the rest do not.

I expect Vacuo to fall. The World of Remnant Miniseries made it clear that Vacuo is a disorganized nomad tribal state who are frankly quite lazy unless they're fighting something. And they're just as likely to fight each other both for a good time AND for bad blood as they are outsiders. Combined with poor resources, they don't have the industry needed to face off against Salem's hordes. Especially when her operatives are still pretty much undefeated in Special Operations. They have pretty much a 100% flawless rating at sowing discourse and chaos. Our 'heroes' have an abysmal success rate for creating unity. Given how fractured Vacuo society is, I see Mercury and Tyrian running circles around RWBY. Compared to the other three, Vacuo is already halfway there where they want it. The turning point for RWBY to get a win should have been Atlas. But RT felt it necessary to fulfill a meta-narrative about standing militaries and fascism. A victory in Atlas would have allowed them to actually send proper help to Vacuo and help patch up old wounds left by the Great War in which Atlas and Vacuo were at each others throats. Still think those wounds are forgotten 80 years after the fact? It's been 80 years since WWI and we still can't let go of the fight against the Axis and rampant anti-nazism. I do not see Vacuo being willing to cooperate in any way with the sudden Atlas Refugees. At least if they were behaving realistically. But RT will do handwavium because 'muh plot lines' and Vacuo is going to be an absolute shitshow where everyone gets along for the sake of the plot as opposed to actually crafting real unity through overcoming suspicion and doubt. And probably have them more industrialized then was first told to us for the sake of being able to match what Atlas faced. Or not because 'we must counter islamphobia and muh noble savages'. The moment the People of Vacuo see the people of Atlas. I highly doubt that they'll get a warm reception. Even with Salem on the rise they haven't forgotten the mark that Atlas made on their land. I guess we will just have to see how much of an effort our hero's put into uniting the people

@@miln25 It literally took a near assassination for Blake to get the Menagerie populace to even agree to join with Mistrial and even then, it wasn't anything Blake said or done. It was the White Fang screwing up and revealing they weren't the advocates people thought they were. RWBY failed to clear Atlas at the Fall of Beacon. Cinder's entire antics was done to drive a wedge between Atlas and the rest of the world making them wonder about their neighbors and shatter the peace they'd enjoyed for so long. Ironwood's overreaction to Vytal security didn't help matters after Ozpin proved his point with the Breach. (Through RWBY did make a pretty shitty scout team, at least Ironwood was in position to bring his hammer down HARD and FAST.) RWBY has been trying to play catch up to Salem's efforts and Ruby's attempt at a 'Gondor Calls for Aid' showcases just how terrible they are at calling for unity. Quite telling that nobody responded. I fully expect in a realistic and natural narrative, RWBY will fail HARD. If they succeed, then it sure won't be because of the natural flow of the story. RT have already proven they will fuck over the natural progression to get to a plot point. It will have to be a local effort. Sun would ironically be the only one to pull it off. Except they wrote him out and killed off his connection with Blake so he basically has no reason to help. They'd be better off if Cinder's antics with the Local Underworld that helped them pull all this off suddenly realized they weren't going to be rewarded and that 75% of the world is dead and that they got played for fools. A vindictive local criminal network is nothing to fuck with and they'd be more than willing to get the rest of Vacuo on board for a good fight.

@@arkdragon222 What I want is a story that follow a more natural progression. Our 'protagonists' (to use the term in the loosest possible sense) are absolutely useless and things only get done because the plot wills it rather than any actual effort. Atlas was a shit show because the writing team was at odds trying to force through plot points and trying to write a natural flow. At this point, the team isn't going to be able to call for unity and the last great hope for Remnant is a home where Chaos reigns supreme. They're not going to want anything to do with RWBY naturally. The only thing that will rouse Vacuans is a good fight. Otherwise as Qrow told us back in Vol 2, they're naturally lazy and carefree. They literally do not care about anything and just let life pass them by... unless there's a fight happening. Salem is good at hiding her presence. Unless Vacuo has always known about her, they are more likely to want to fight Atlas because this will be the second time that Atlas has 'invaded' Vacuo since the 'Great War' 80 years ago. Otherwise they would have intervened at the Battle of Atlas and prevented its fall when Ruby called for a fight. (Honestly I don't know what she was expecting. It really feels like they were just trying to rip off SW Ep 8.) So if Ruby calling for 'The Good Fight' isn't enough to rouse Vacuo, then ether something is keeping them at home or they need something more.... personal... to get them moving.
