The endless battle between me and Ryan Air continues. More undisclosed cost, predatory behavior, price drip feeding, you name the dodgy business tactic Ryan Air and other low cost airlines like Jetstar, Air Asia, Easy Jet, you name them, are using these tactics. But by far Ryan Air is the WORST. Here is my Ryan Air online booking tips and advice on how to book a flight with Ryan air and avoid the costs they try and hide form you.

Great video. I've heard other people say the same thing about jacking up the price if you go back to the site to check the price a second time.

If don't log in, you can browse the same flight as much as you want, it won't start raising. Only if you log in, but in this case - it will start raising in that moment. Proved a million times :)

You have some real smarts - Citibank card is awesome. For UK people try Starling. Next level - edit your payment methods on PayPal to bill in original currency for that card. Then use PayPal for EVERYTHING when it is offered. You will never get a "Could not verify credit details" message again. As for the price went up conspiracy - I have *definitely* had this happen to me on both Jetstar & Virgin in Australia 5 years ago. How do I know. I waited an hour and went back with different browser/laptop/IP - old price was right there. I have not had this happen to me for a long time now. I *don't* agree with the fake info business. You miss out on alerts if your flight is cancelled/late , and in your case you missed out on the reminders sent by Ryanair to check in before the airport.

You got really lucky here with the 10kg 12€ check-in bag, on my upcoming flights they asked for 50€ each for the 20kg one, not even offering the 10kg version which of course I declined. The only other option is to buy priority with their new baggage policies.

Yes allways select local currency of the airline in payal. For Australians link your credit card to Australian pay pal. ( best credit card is 28 degrees as no 3% curerency conversion or any other fees-Do not use for cash from ATM, use citibank or Ubank for this ) To book you select paypal ( select local currency ) knowing it goes to your credit card for 55 day int free. You have also bypassed the credit card fee. Dont forget when overseas and using your credit card ask to pay in local currency, if you see your home currency you about to be screwed dont sign, ask again for local currency.

In the UK you have less legal protection with Paypal it's better to pay with a credit card as you can claim back from the credit card company if all else fails. I have found Paypal good but legally they don't have to help you, it's down to their goodwill...

Btw, the thing about currency is kinda strange. For me, I wanted to pay in Turkish Lira (TRY), they showed me the "final" price in euros and when I type my card info, they tried to charge me in USD, which was also higher then the first "final" price. It's because they're taking the price like this "EUR->TRY->USD" and in each transaction, you money becomes more unvaluable (because of the buy-sell difference). I hope I explained it right.

I suppose it depends on the "brand" of the credit card. It's likely they have to pay these processing fees themselves so the 3.98 might be that certain percentage of your total. I've always used PayPal and they never charged a dime, maybe that's a suggestion? You can just add your card in your PayPal account. About the conversion rate.. well, I've never seen anyone, anywhere use the exchange rate shown on Google. Not PayPal, not my bank, I always got worse rates.

Being travel with Ryanair. A long time.on their flight bus. On their. Web site. In ireland there is no off site charges. If you book a flight they have to give you a seat don't go for seat till you continue to the end .dont purchase anything. Just continue. Its different if your traveling with a family. Then they get you. This all came from American airlines. Cheap flights Ryanair jumped on the wagon. They do the same. As continental airlines. On the new 800 boing. its just a seat as on a bus. no room to move .tight tight.use the toilet before you board .you could be sorry. You have to press the call bell for the attendant to let you use the loo.with the virus. Today. People should plan what their going to need from their cases in the overhead lockers.its tight people cannot restrict their movements on flights always fudging in their cases and it's got so tighter in the iiles.

You shouldn't be whining! Ryanair is the cheapest of all companies and still you're moaning over 7 euros! Especially on a longer flight it's nice to not have people squirming past you when you're settled in with your book and headphones, or even sleeping. 7 Euros is less than a meal at Mc Donalds! If you have the cash to travel through Europe, coming from Australia, clearly you're not poor. And they give it as an option, don't they? You're not forced to take it! This luxury deserves a thumbs up!How do you think Ryanair keep their planes flying? On water??? Get real! Pay a meager price to travel through the sky!I Always fly Ryanair and get discounts on ALSO booking an hotel and car with them, easy does it, perfect service!
@PhilosophiesofTravel
@PhilosophiesofTravel 4 жыл бұрын
😂 Thanks for watching mate, love the comment. I think you might have missed the point though. Ryan air prices are never what they advertise, they have so many hidden costs that add up to more than 7 euros, their entire business model is designed to confuse and "catch out" people while in a very stressful situation. If they simply advertised the price you pay and didn't catch people with 120 euro hidden fines I wouldn't have a problem. Their business model is illegal in Australia and one day might be illegal in Europe too. So I have no problems have a good old whinge about what I see as unethical business practice that takes advantage of its customers, many of which have no choice but to fly with them. Just check the Australian exchange rate from Aus to euro and you'll see why it hits home hard 😉. Thanks for the conversation mate ☺

Look simple Ryanair is best low cost airline in Europe but u have to be alert to them trying to catch u out it is possible to fly for ridiculous prices. Do it all the time if u r complaining about bad service etc fly ba first class and pay the money 4 there service. If u don't want to pay the money as the saying goes u only get what you pay 4
@PhilosophiesofTravel
@PhilosophiesofTravel 4 жыл бұрын
A great easy solution for those who have the money to make the choice. Not everyone has the cash to "pay for the service" and just because some of us might not have that much money doesn't mean deception and being deliberately mislead is OK.
@chrismonks5043
@chrismonks5043 Жыл бұрын
Idiot they are offering you basic travel insurance, nothing to do with your consumer protection, nowthe transaction fee isn't from the airline, also the exchange rate is set by the credit card and not the airline, if you check with your bank they will explain the difference, you seem to think that everone is against you. You even pointed out the issue with getting money out on the cashpoint and said that it was with the bank and nothing to do with the airline. So now you have the fear on them putting the prices up....they work on supply and demand, as the flight gets busy they chanrge more for the last tickets, you can wait till the last moment and try and pick up a last seat as I do I travel to Ireland from the UK and rarely pay more than £10 total, as for seats the back two rows on the flight are the last ones sold you can get those if you wait and get on BUT the airline can ask you to take the seat allocated as according to them its a safety issue for weight but if you want to get put off the flight say no. I personally feel you shouldn't travel without someone to look after you as you seem to be scared of the world, they are not out to get you they are simply a business and out to make money unless you think that they are going to always try and give you the cheapest deal, you need to just understand the world and stop feeling people are out to get you.
