Ryan, you and your team is excellent. We have pretty much so done away with watching our local weather channel for our weather forecast. Now when tornadoes are kickin we are glued to our local channel because of all the storm chasers they have as far as keeping us posted minute by minute they are truly a cut above. But we have found that really wanting to know what our next week is going to look like we have started counting on you because you are almost always spot on. So I just want to say thank you for all of your hard work. Mine and my husbands work life revolves around weather. I found your channel about 8 months ago and you have made me and now my husband believers of your channel. So again thank you.

I turned 70 the mid of November, … I remember the Blizzard of 1966 in the grand Calumet region, basically throughout the Chicagoland region, that started out the night before sweeping southward over Lake Michigan, with record breaking snowfall amounts, & drifts well over 15 feet tall, as the wind swept over anything, & everything in its path, it took 3 weeks before we got a snowplow into our subdivision, my stepdad, & 2 of the guts he worked with in the steel mill, literally had to swim the 2.3 miles from downtown Dyer, Indiana where we lived just south of town, they had to drag the one guy with their wet frozen hands in order to make it to the house, through several sections where they could not touch solid ground, with their feet, and had to tunnel through the sections of the 12, to 15 foot high drifts, … I had shoveled our driveway twice with the drifts of up to 4 feet high, but had climb out through my bedroom window into a drift that had surrounded the house, in order to retrieve the shovel sitting outside, next to the front door, because I could not open the front , or the back door from so much snow, that had blown covering the front, & side of the house, as well as up over the roof, we heated the house with number 1 coal oil, which used to be plenty abundant, … and cheap, at 12 cents a gallon, and got through the worst weather, keeping us plenty warm, … but smelled like the high grade diesel fuel it was, … upwards of $5.50 /gallon these days, … lmfao!!! I live in Northeast Alabama these days, & on blood thinners for life, … so My time is about due, … but I am a survivor?, of many situations, … and My goal is to make it past this winter too, …

@johnosman8140 God bless you Sir. I turned 70 in July. In 74 I was living in Mansfield Ohio. I've never seen snowflakes so huge then or since. I don't remember how much snow it was but I definitely remember the snow lightning and it stopped a train on the tracks that was stuck for 2 weeks. I'm in Virginia now and not nearly as much snow, thank you Jesus. I have a hundred year old house that until 3 years ago was heating with fuel oil. It was at the point it was costing me over 600$ a month. I got a gas furnace that spring. God bless you and your family. Keep looking up, for our redemption is very near 👑🙏💞✝️🐾🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯

Lake Effect Snowbands have to be experienced in person to understand. You maybe driving in Sunny conditions with low temps on a given day. As you drive to the Northwest, you look to the sky as you travel ahead. The Sky is Very Dark, with very Thick Tall cloud's, You feel the pressures changes as you near it. Then Boom it's dark all around and the snow is falling sideways. The winds are strong, and the visibility wavers from a half mile to zero in a flash. The Road is gone and it's a huge drift of snow. Plow through and continue cautiously. You don't know what you will encounter in rapid Blizzard like conditions. Just as fast as you drove into the storm, you drive out, to face those sunny skies again. Freaky experience.

Pueblo County, COLORADO, chiming in, watching & waiting. Watching for the LEGENDARY Albuquerque LOW. In 1997 Colorado was hammered by an amazing blizzard! Interstates & highways were shut down, shelter in place orders issued by the state. That storm, my wife survived alone for 3 days without electricity with an old wood burning stove. The LOW pressure system over NM drawing the cold South always precedes our worst and more amazing winter storms. Then, when the LOW pressure moves over Pueblo, Colorado, the folks in the MID-WEST begin to pucker up, as that blizzard system moves NE towards them!

Streamer snow is amazing in the side definition! That year I worked a 15 min walk away. That was an excellent explanation of lake effect snow! I've heard the term my whole life, I have lived near the Great Salt Lake most of my life, but spent a couple of years just north of Detroit as a teen. Now it makes so much sense what it is and why it happens.

Thank you kindly. I live in Washington state, and i drive over our passes, and unfortunately, our weather people over here constantly get the weather wrong. I'm glad I found your channel. You have always been accurate. You saved me many times. You're my only weather guy now. Much respect to you, sir. Thank you.

Love your stuff, my only source of weather news tbh. I know this is a knit pick and might just be too much extra workload for you but I think it would be great to have chapters in the videos. I often find myself scrubbing through a video on a second or third watch to show a friend or my partner a specific point you made. Would also be great in a pinch to be able to go to the "Effects on the East Coast" chapter of a video.

Brrrr, I had early cold and snow this week. Must have lost my cold tolerance in last summer's heat domes! It stayed in zone 8, no zone 6 temps. Shivering in the NM mountains.

Loving this winter if stays this way! The north needs a break from clearing snow. I had 114” last year and most dumped on us in February through April of 2023

@@jeremiahallyn4603 it’s “winter” pretty much here where I live. Snow on and off for a month. Official winter starts Dec 21 but that’s just a quarterly mark. Winter Solstice

Yes Ryan, we are getting the lake effect snow already between Erie and Buffalo. It started during the night, last night. Here in Machias NY, at 11:45pm Monday, we have about 5" of snow so far.

I grew up in Erie. We ALWAYS had snow, at least a foot on the ground at a time. Kinda miss it, out in Eastern PA now we get more dreary wet weather and not much snow due to the ocean fronts. The Goldilock zone, I like it, I use to refer to is as the snow armpit, because that is where all the crap amassed.
