Just grabbed a pair of the SD cards that Ryan recommends to replace the $300 v90 card I had initially purchased with my GH5. These more affordable cards were able to record any video format the GH5 offers that was 200M or lower (this *does* include a couple of 10-bit formats). The formats that were 400M however were too much for these guys to handle. Good to know if you're looking to shoot in those big big formats, but for my needs these cards are perfect and much more affordable than what I had originally purchased. That v90 card was overkill for my me and I'm happily returning it to Amazon. Buy yourself a new tripod instead of a v90 card :D

Does the GH5 autofocus work with the Tokina 11-16mm lens?
@kelvinzyteng4 жыл бұрын
Honestly, Panasonic 12-35 OIS II is freaking amazing lens. I would recommend it compared to canon big heavy 24-70mm. For the low light, Panasonic Leica 15mm F1.7 is enough for me. Shooting HLG and converted to Rec709 with very low noise. If wanted even low light can go for sigma 16mm F1.4 . For people who wanted the all-in-one lens can consider sigma 18-35 canon, still big and heavy. Unless people who were previously a canon user then it is good to get an adapter. If new users, it is better to get native lenses which are really not bad at all. This is because metabones will affect the quality, especially XL x0.64. After using GH5 for a few years, I feel to nail the exposure in HLG, Cine D and Vlog is looking at the waveform, last time I am also using the zebra, but quite difficult when using flat profile and tend to underexpose. Anyway good explanation video
@niznoobsky60434 жыл бұрын
I disagree with you because if you use a viltrox/metabones adapter you get more light and the lenses you get will be compatible with future gear unlike native m43 lenses
@kelvinzyteng4 жыл бұрын
@@niznoobsky6043 If planing for future to change another system, maybe invest in the adapter is a good choice. But is saw many reviewers said that metabones XL will lower the video quality. It is better to get x0.7 adapter. if you really stick with mft and not thinking to go FF, the native lens is good for travel and overall performance. I don't feel good to get a little bit more light to exchange the big size lens. Anyway, it is personal preferences, I just hope people don't look down on the native lens as they are good lens too.

G'Day Ryan - I am reasonably new to videography - enjoying your videos. I bought the GH5 M2. I have a couple questions though, 1. In Cinema mode everything is 24P out of camera so If I shoot something in VFR 60P and want some of that clip at normal speed do I then re-time to 250% and if 120P VFR re-time at 500%. 2. In Cinema mode (at least here in Australia) Most lights at night time seem to have flicker - How do I eliminate the flicker??? Thank You in advance for the brilliant answers I know I will get 😃

I am embarrased to say in that time I've seen countless "tutorials" on KZbin and until now, have never really set up my camera correctly. Now I have C-1, 2, 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3 all dialed in with CineD and Mono settings and have a much more comprehensive understanding of the camera. Mahalo bro and keep the vids coming! Was also wondering if you think your metabones/canon lens set up is better than the native Leica lenses? I have both the Leica 12-60mm f2.8-4 and the 12mm f1.4, your opinion that your set up is something to consider or what I have is plenty good. LMK.

Ryan why is the variable frame rate set to 60fps I am not sure I get this part as all my videos play back in slow motion with no audio... is this how you shoot all your videos and change it in post? Can I set the VFR to 24 fps? I just got the GH5 yesterday from eBay with a 12-35 lens for a great price and your video is the 1st one I have viewed but this section has me a bit confused... I have just also purchased the studio version of Davinci Resolve 18 so that is also a new learning curve as well... just didn't want to continue to pay monthly for Adobe products any longer... But thanks for making videos like this helps us average noob's out a lot. So if I am shooting at 4K 8-bit 100M 24P do I even need to set the variable frame rate at all? Thanks
