I started working out again after years or destroying my body with alcohol. These videos had a huge part in my recovery. Also, I have seen more progress in 10 months 6 to 7 days a week in the gym than any other time in my life and I'm 44. I'm getting asked if I'm using gear. The adult acne doesn't help my case, but I have always struggled with it. I just wanted to say thank you.

Golfer's elbow is a tendon issue. Find the tendons that hurt with your thumb and drive your thumb into the tendons tracing it up your forearm and to your biceps and triceps. It's going to suck. Some people use a ball or a big spoon. Massage it to press out the tendons that healed incorrectly. Think of it like you are smashing and tenderizing meat. There are tears that don't heal correctly sometimes because you didn't deload when you needed to. And take a deload week every 6-8 weeks. Think of it as perfect form week with half the weight and sets you normally do. A technical week. Do half of what you would normally do in the gym and go home and rest.. I dealt with this problem for months myself. No more because I deload when I need to. And I stretch and take walks on recovery days. Active recovery.

Mr Humiston, I follow your channel closely and appreciate all of your information. I’ve been working out at home for about 5 years now and I’ve made great gains following your advice. However I’m turning 60 this year and although my mind feels like I’m 30 it’s not fooling my body. I’m beginning to have more sore joints, more unwanted days off due to soreness and just an overall soreness and exhaustion. I know it’s because I want to lift like a 30 year old but my 60 year old body just cannot do it. Have you ever considered touching on a few tips and suggestions for reps, sets, exercises and routines for us older guys that want to stay fit into their 60s and 70s? Your wealth of knowledge, the time you spend researching and making videos is greatly appreciated. From a fellow Arizonan in Tucson, stay cool this summer. Thank you for your consideration. 1st off you’re the man! If you’re eating and sleep is excellent and you’re still having issues then it might be good to lighten up or take a break for a couple weeks and switch to cardio only. Cable angle can really load the stretched position since it changes the loading curve. Stepping away takes the load off the stretched position. If anything I would face away and pull the cable over my shoulder to make the lengthend position the hardest. Lengthend position is where the gains are at. I typically do over head extensions with the cable behind me at an angle to really emphasize the stretch.

Hey Ryan! February 2023 I got a gastric sleeve surgery. Since then I went from 315 to 190lbs. The last couple months at the age of 39 I’ve decided to body build. There are so many KZbin videos out there that are just ridiculous. Although I need to make sure I’m getting a balanced diet due to the surgery, I was instructed by my doctor to go straight for the protein first. It got ridiculous for me because being new to this I put all the other nutrients off and went only for the protein. Anyhow, I corrected that. Watching your videos and listening to the knowledge you give helped me understand more of the science behind nutrition and the human body and how important it is. I also, want to add that I suffered from Kienbock’s disease as well. This left me without a wrist to utilize during workouts. Due to this I’m struggling hard to find a workout to work my abdominal head mostly but, my chest over all. Any advice there would be great. The advice you give is great just the lack of a wrist makes it very challenging because of the pain internally. I’m working on strengthening the muscles in the wrist which seem to be working out well.
@jessebrown14006 ай бұрын
Ryan you absolutely recommend the best exercises I can't thank you enough. Those seated cable skull crushers and close-grips are the best mass builder for triceps after you do your presses or dips. Pump exercises won't build muscle alone, you need to stimulate first with heavy weight but keep reps in reserve no failure, get a couple heavy sets then do a single fail set for every exercise (2 exercise for each muscle is good starter). Less lactic acid, more training sessions per week, more recovery, more gains. After pushing P.R's for a couple week do a deload and do a pump session to give your connective tissue a rest and avoid injury. More weight, more frequency equals less volume per session.
@1andonlyMiro6 ай бұрын
If you struggle with mind-muscle connection with biceps (or just want to try this because it works at least as well as the alternative) try doing bicep curls with dumbbelss one arm at a time. The entire set with a single dumbbell in one hand. Not alternating arms, just one arm at a time. I've always found these feeling and working better for me than alternating bicep curls.
