An important tip for M3H owners, is to know the non screen PRND controls are the buttons on the ceiling above the centre mirror. These are easy to miss because they don’t light up unless touch them. However they are critical to be able to drive the car when the screen is unavailable. Speaking of which, you can reboot the centre screen at any time by holding down both the left and right scroll wheel. I mostly do this when the car loses internet connectivity

This is a super video and I’m going to save it for friends that just got the first Tesla. One thing you sort of missed was about how the schedules are location based. I have a 2018 Model 3 AWD and failed to notice this myself for a while. It means you can set your Tesla to precondition before you leave for work at home and separately for when you leave for home at work. It’s an awesome feature for those of us who live in colder climates.

Option that would be great, the ability to expand the turn signal POP-UP WINDOW to full screen size. Also, if the flashing red bar for a lane change obstruction was larger, like having the red flash across the entire turn signal window, not just the thin red bar at the side. Both would enhance safety, and be nice additions.

I have had my 2024 model Y for 3 months and find it the most difficult car to park. Every time you park the system tells you Parking sensors degraded. Great message to get on a brand new car. I notice Ryan never talks about the lack of parking sensors and how much it sucks. Lastly music sounds great in my model Y. It is too bad they force you to use a streaming service for your music which then requires enhanced connectivity which has a monthly fee. I just wish I could control my bluetooth music through the cars system like every other car in the world.
@PositivePersistenceАй бұрын
You should check in with a service center- I got a model y 24 AWD (w/FSD) in May and I have no issues parking or with the cameras being degraded- and the rare times I do see a message of the cameras being degraded (think of inclement weather and certain direct sun issues) the car still handles FSD and park assist/auto park very well.

I test drove a 2024 M3 and when I got back into my 2018 MP3 I was surprised I didn’t notice a significant difference. The refresh is a little quieter, slightly smoother, and has ambient lights - but still no auto open/close frunk. So if anyone is looking for a first Tesla or commuter just buy a used 3 or Y because they depreciate 25-50%. Meanwhile it is essentially 95% same experience especially with all the software updates. It’s like the new Corolla. Even at 65k miles, the battery life, charging, and wear is not an issue. In fact I’d be less stressed about door dings and curb rash if a used Tesla had them already because they will 100% get them anyway 😅
@IdiocracySpaceАй бұрын
For comparison we also have a 2023 MXP and we don’t use the walk up frunk and trunk. Really unnecessary since they always opened walking around the Tesla in the garage. Same with the electronic doors - we don’t use auto open but auto close is great along with screen controlled open/close doors only on X. Still no electronic open close frunk which is really really lame. Lastly keep in mind the new refresh Teslas don’t have stalks which might be an issue for elderly or newer drivers.
@IdiocracySpaceАй бұрын
PSA - FSD is not worth any cost and there’s no refund. No one in my family likes the way FSD drives on city streets - not even our dogs 😂. FSD annoyingly changes lanes on the freeway even when you don’t want it to. Free autopilot doesn’t do that so it is all you need.
@torchlord11Ай бұрын
@@IdiocracySpace I was not sure about doing it either so I didn't buy it till I tried the first month, and yeah didn't care how it always stopped behind the stop signs and then crept out, took forever to make a decision (sometimes) likely do to whether it had a clear view down the street. I still believe they should have cameras up in front of the tires pointing down the streets on a 4 way stop. I never tried the FSD when it rolled through stops from prior software before NIHTSA complained about it so it could have been better back then.
