I‘m living in Switzerland for almost 10 years. Switzerland is on the third place with gun ownership (about 45 gun owners per 100 persons). Here are regulations too, but everyone can get a weapon - even foreigners, if they have a gun license from their home country (exception are from most Balkan, African countries or Russia). And if you‘re finished with the Swiss Army, you can take your gun (without ammunition) home.

The cruelty part was done by the NSDAP to make everyone else feel sorry about the victims to take them in. And look how the former allied nations are doing today. And the thing is, they actually told the truth about them before committing the war crimes against them, this ensured that even knowing the truth, the tragedy would outweigh it and people still felt sorry for them, barring pretty much any way out for those who took them in. The NSDAP knew they wouldn't be able to beat their enemies back then, but in a few decades, Germany, with its still going revanchism, can probably not only defeat the USA but conquer it. (And getting a German citizenship is pretty well regarded already, and that would be an extremely efficient way to give a lot of people that citizenship) Cherry on top is, Germany did not even get a formalized lawful peace treaty unlike Italy and Japan, so the war is technically still going and the GErmans won't even have to declare war for any of that because they ARE still in the war. However, this freedom has its limits. It must be clearly recognizable as humorous art. Not everyone finds it funny, but this type of humor still exists today. 19:05 That's the problem. Young people have questions and although there are simple and good reasons, adults once again have no idea and say just "next one". To the question: Hard alcohol is also only available from the age of 18. Light alcohol such as beer is from the age of 16. In the presence and with the consent of a parent or guardian, beer can also be drunk from the age of 14. Young people drink anyway. But then it is illegal, which means that they are criminalized and in secret and therefore uncontrolled. Studies have shown that the early legal availability of light alcohol leads to a more responsible use of hard alcohol.

Nah. The salute ain't that regulated. It's not uncommon to do it as a joke, even if it's kinda weird. It's more like a social thing, doing the 'Hitler Gruß' makes most people upset. Including teachers.

Guns aren't illegal here. It's just heavily regulated. If you do all the paperwork and tests, you have access to one of the biggest gun markets in the world. Almost everything is legal here as long It's registered and not fully automatic. From .22 to a 20mm. You can even own cannons. The hardest part are the tests, routine checkups and paperwork.

7:35 The chalkboards are everywhere. We had them in school and now in uni too. But they're not electric. Just two regular ancient chalkboards. You can push them up because they have little wheels at their sides. You can even see them in the video. This electric stuff at the right side are probably the light switches for the overhead lights of the room.

Fun Fact: The majority of the restaurant business in germany is dominated by small, local, family owned restaurants. You barely see any big chains. There is a McDonalds or BurgerKing in the Cities (One, maybe 2 or 3 in major cities) KFC is very rare and mostly in the big cities, besides from that you find like 1-2 Subways in every County and rarely a pizza hut or dominoes (They tried but they start to die out) Besides from that most restaurants that own multiple locations normally have about 2-4 locations, depending on how successfully they are
@datzfatz2368Ай бұрын
Our equivalent of the overabundance of fast food places would be Dönerbuden or Brathänchenstände i guess
@Ph34rNoB33rАй бұрын
For Subways, we have way too many in the larger cities, and many never get into the profit zone. Their franchise model leaves all the responsibilities with the licensee, also you are required to buy all their overpriced equipment. Sometimes a new licensee can get the stuff of the previous one for cheap, then they have a higher chance of ever getting into the profit zone. McDonalds for example does it differently, they pick the places, they build the restaurants, the licensee only has to run them. So you are less likely to get one in a really bad location.

about the german law regarding certain symbols - what most people dont know is that communist flags, symbols and salutes are EQUALLY illegal in germany. So raising a certain fist in germany is the same offense as doing the roman salute. That said there is clearly a difference in enforcing the law - if you dot he right wing stuff you are likely to be fined. If you do the communsit stuff...its highly unlikely anyone takes offense or reports. that said there are exceptions - you can legally demonstrate certain ideas with an announcement and permit. and you can use "stand in" symbols that used to mean something else but are CLEARLY taken as placeholders for the banned ones - legally too. And the things that piss me off is that foreign media tends to censor and loose their S about the iron cross as a N. symbol. which it is not - it was introduced about 200 years before the moustache guy, and is still used to this very day by the german military its our version of the medal of honor. and somehow the world takes this as a symbol of a certain reich and even bans people using it. Imagine earning a medal of honor heroicly savign your comrades almost loosing your life, proudly wearing it on your clothing and getting banned on youtube for it
@gregor2436Ай бұрын
That is just false. Communist symbols are not illegal - as well as showing your fist as greeting. The Communist Party of Germany (KPD) is illegal and the FDJ - but just the west one. The eastern FDJ (Sharing same symbols) is legal. And the ban of the KPD is more or less a relic of the cold war - and wouldn't be done again. But hammer and sickle, stars, posters etc. are legal. There are certain lefal parties using these symbols. Fascist symbols are absolutely illegal. Beside history stuff and educational.
