2 Fast 2 Furious: Engine Sounds - Evo & Spyder

Engine/Exhaust sounds of the Mitsubishi EVO & Spyder from the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious
The engine and exhaust sounds were achieved trough editing all the different sound channels within the film by muting channels that contained music, speech etc.
Specifications:
• EVO: The EVO is powered by a 2-liter DOHC 16-v 4G63 inline 4 equiped with nitrous and has a DAMD body kit and ARC rear wing. The rims are Motegi Racing FF5.
All but one of the Lancer Evolution VII's used in 2 Fast 2 Furious were Mitsubishi Lancers made to look like the Evolution VII. One of them was a left-hand-drive Evolution VII imported from Europe.
•SPYDER: Designed by Tyrese himself.
The Eclipse Spyder was given a resplendent metallic silver and purple webbed design along with a Shine Street wide body kit, rear wing, APC carbon fiber hood, Genera/TYC Euro taillights and a set of Lowenhart BR-5 rims. It also had a GPS device spidered into all the main components underneath the hood, as well as a custom vanity Florida plate that read "H8TR".
The Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is one of the few protagonist cars that is not destroyed on-screen.

Unknown fact for many: the sound of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution was actually taken from a Honda S2000! Another unknown fact: though Paul Walker actually did the 180 in the evo, he ended up swapping for an evo that was placed backwards on the frame to sustain the 80MPH while also protecting Paul from crashing into the eclipse spyder.

Honestly, I kinda hate the Evo 7's sound in 2F2F. Kind of a huge inaccuracy in the movie, since the sound recorded came from either an RSX or S2000. Alternatively, this sound was also used in NFSU2, and the sound file included the words S2k 2f2f. Redeeming qualities included that the engine may as well be an F20c and not a true 4g63 in that Evo 7 which kinda led to me hating it. Otherwise, I honestly think that this VTEC sound should belong to another car. Luckily, the Evo 8 in Tokyo Drift was redeemed, having a completely different audio from an actual 4G63.

Yes these engine sounds are most likely from either a Subaru boxer or some type of honda DOHC VTEC motor, whether a B series or what not, you can definetely hear the Vtec in there.

I'm almost positive they used a K20 for the sounds on the Evo. I'm not a Mitsubishi expert but I don't think they had Variable Valve Timing and they used Hondas for Mitsubishis before (e.g. the CRX and Integra noises for the Eclipse GSX from the first film). The sound is similar to a K series but you can hear the VTEC crossover at 0:19-0:22 and at 2:17-2:19

Three things, yall noticed how Paul's front bumper was crushed cuz he hit the impountd lot fence. How did that get fixed lol? Also, that scene where he was on the highway and was moving and threw the car in reverse, I'm 90 percent sure he woulda broke that tranny by throwing it in reverse while moving so fast. The only car I seen that allows that is a BMW and even then I don't think you could be going so fast. I love how they be using nos and only get to 100 mph.

Craig Lieberman said the evo used Honda engine sound, what I hated abut this Evo and eclipse was the scheme and graphics they both looked terrible, and Craig did say he hated them as well when building them, he said most of the cars there were pimp my ride and not the tuner cars like the first movie was.
