if youre testing air volume then you should remove the silicone tip from the 190 mph blower because it restricts airflow, thats how its getting to 190 mph... but the cfm goes down in the process. also on the packpack blower you say in the end you have to hold down the turbo button like on the 190 mph model which is not true, you just press it once and it goes to turbo for 2 mins and then goes back to regular speed.

Agree. Regardless, a most interesting test.

I just bought the 190 mile an hour one and I love it. I’ve had an older handheld version prior to the older handheld one that’s being tested in this video, and it’s done the job, but not like the 190 mph. He forgot to include prices The 550 cfm is $179 at home depot, comes with charger and one battery, the 190 mph one is $300 at Home Depot and the battery backpack one is $249 at Home Depot. However, when you buy the 190 mile an hour one you get two 4 amp hour batteries included with a fast charger. The backpack comes with one battery and one charger. The 40v 4 amp/h battery alone cost $140 at Home Depot.

FYI -- The new 190mph blower is now $329 at Home Depot, 2 weeks later.

@@biondatiziana I was about to say...every review I see says $300. I have been looking at buying this for the last week and am only seeing $329. Either that or just in m area?

@@nakrohtap I've been looking too, and that's what I'm seeing. Ryobi may have planned to increase the price based on the early reviews, or the supply chain mess and other inflationary factors may have pushed the price up. Or the price increase could be a result of California's new law (signed by Gov. Newsom on 10/12/21) restricting and phasing out small gas engines, just at the start of leaf-blowing season. CA is a huge market for landscaping equipment. (The sale of gas tools won't go into effect immediately but it would be foolish to buy a gas blower in CA now.) Given all these factors, I don't expect to see the price go back down. A shame, because $300 was already expensive.

@@biondatiziana I'm sure it's more supply chain related.

Liked. Nice. One of the key problem with your test is putting on the restricting nozzle on the 730CFM unit. That drops your CFM very significantly - I estimate to about 620CFM.

yep, that nozzle ups the MPH, but lowers the CFM

A more interesting comparison would be between the two handheld whisper blowers without the nozzle..... testing run time at both the turbo, but alto at the normal speed....

Thank you very much for this comparison video! I first ventured into Ryobi 40v cordless with the 2 blade lawnmower and loved it so much I bought the single stage snow blower which came with the 1st blower in your comparison. We typically put out 80-100 bags of leaves during Fall and I have owned and loved a Stihl backpack 2 cycle blower. I am VERY tempted to get the backpack blower but I'd like it to have more power to be truly equal to my gas unit. Then the new, more powerful unit came out just to confuse things, lol. However I find that my shoulder gets sore after using it for an hour or so (I now have 4 batteries so I can run any of my cordless tools non stop). So the backpack interests me due to the support. Do you think it's likely that Ryobi will either: 1) make the backpack unit more powerful (I don't think so as they'd piss off existing customers-I would be!), or 2) make a 2nd, more powerful unit? Battery consumption is already an issue with this unit, so who knows what they're thinking?? Thanks again for the video. 👍

You have choked the 730 CFM down by having that tip on the end. Oh on a side note you've got the tip plugged in upside down it does actually lock in. Cheers.

I love your videos man and I am still a subscriber but I must say I think Ryobi played a part in your conclusion. Watching this video the backpack blower exceeded in all task but you still chose the new 2021 blower??? I hope ryobi didn't put you up to those results to sell the new latest product. I just dont see why choosing the new one which came in second would be anyone's choice. As an engineer myself I can tell you new isnt always better, typically new is just cheaper to manufacture which results in more profit to the company.

Tyrone, they didn’t play a role at all. If you use the backpack you’ll find the runtime and awkwardness is hard to deal with and at the end of the day it just creates headaches

Little misleading for Ryobi as it doesn’t do 190 AND 730 CFM

How does a 625 CFM outperform a 730? The 730 must not be accurate.

it does do 730 but without the nozzle
@sganet_
@sganet_ 2 жыл бұрын
It’s the nozzle, more pressure (speed) less volume, no different then pressure washers. That’s why pro detailers on pressure washers often use larger nozzle to tune electric pressure washer down to 1-1.1k psi (which is safer for washing cars) and get increased GPM or water flow. If you are like me who details cars more than gardening, a high CFM blower would be perfect for drying a car, I wouldn’t use the nozzle cap at all.

Buy gas batteries at the very best last for 5 years. One 5ah Ryobi battery costs 159 dollars on sale! Now I'm in the process of replacing my Ryobi with gas! Go green in your wallet!
@craighellberg4366
@craighellberg4366 2 жыл бұрын
Exactly! For the price of the damn batteries on these blowers or string trimmer‘s I can buy a whole new gas version. And the five years is only under optimum conditions, meaning recharging and storing. In areas of extreme climates like the northern states with the winters and the southern states with the summers it just eats those batteries. I am so glad to know that I am not the only one that sees this.

@@craighellberg4366 I hear ya. I will be getting a Stihl gas on sale here now. Less than any of these and it will last the remainder of my life with no new parts (maybe a sparkplug). I have a Stihl chainsaw so the same fuel and oil. Plus it is less weight than some of the battery operated ones. And about the same dB noise level and it will run until it runs out of gas at what ever power level I use it at. And will blow light snow of the house's walk way,...
